The Mid-Autumn Moon Festival is coming. Practitioners from the Zhoukou area miss Master, who is thousands of miles away. The evil is not yet totally eliminated, so we cannot yet reunite with Master in China. The Falun Dafa practitioners in the Zhoukou area have walked the path of cultivation practice for six years under the compassionate protection and guidance of Master. (Clearwisdom.net) According to Radio Free Asia's report on September 20, 2005, eighty Falun Gong practitioners, including a ten-year-old child, planned to go to Hong Kong to attend a Falun Gong event in 2003. However, at the Hong Kong airport, Hong Kong authorities barred them from entering the city with the excuse that they were "security risks." They have applied for a judicial review of the case and the high court started the hearing on Tuesday (September 20).

Senior counsel Paul Harris who represents the eighty Taiwanese Falun Gong practitioners pointed out that Falun Gong is legal in Hong Kong and religious freedom is also ensured in the Basic Law. Article 141 of the Basic Law states, "Religious organizations and believers in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region may maintain and develop their relations with religious organizations and believers elsewhere." The clients had valid visas prior to their trip to Hong Kong and they have no criminal records. The Falun Gong event that they were to take part in was peaceful.
Harris made a "discovery application" to obtain documents relating to the government's decision denying entry to the eighty Taiwanese Falun Gong practitioners to the territory, including a watch list used by the Internal Immigration Department.
The government counsel Daniel Fung Wah-kin SC opposed the application. Should the judge order the release of security information, Fung said, the relevant "ministers" would have to be informed to consider an application for "public interest immunity."
Justice Michael Hartmann originally planned to continue the hearing on Tuesday afternoon, but the court announced in the afternoon that the hearing was postponed to Wednesday morning, since Justice Hartmann did not feel well.
Four Falun Gong practitioners flew to Hong Kong to appear in court after they obtained special permission from the Hong Kong government. Before the court hearing began, more than thirty Hong Kong Falun Gong practitioners and the four Taiwanese practitioners marched from the Charter Garden to the court. During the hearing, Hong Kong practitioners staged a protest and practiced their exercises outside the court to support the court review.
One of the plaintiffs, Ms. Theresa Chu Woan-chyi, an in-house lawyer with a US insurance company, believes that this lawsuit will be a crucial test of the "one country, two systems." What is crucial is whether the Hong Kong government is demanded to reveal their "watch list." If plaintiffs' names appear on the watch list, it indicates the blacklist provided by China is the major reason why they were barred entry to Hong Kong.
She said that once the blacklist is revealed, we can clearly see that if our names show up on the list, it is definitely not because that we had committed any crimes. Because we have no criminal records in Taiwan or any other places in the world. We had been to Hong Kong before and we never carried any contraband or weapons. If the blacklist is revealed, one will clearly see that we are on the list due to our affiliation with Falun Gong.
Ms. Chu disclosed that from 2001 to 2004, more than 200 Taiwanese were identified as Falun Gong practitioners by the Hong Kong immigration department and consequently barred from entering the city. More than thirty Taiwanese people who have the same names as some Falun Gong practitioners were also barred entry in the name of "security risk," although they had valid Hong Kong visas. Ms. Chu condemned the Hong Kong government for not being reasonable. She said, "The more than 200 Taiwanese people including those thirty Taiwanese who are not Falun Gong practitioners but happened to have same the names as some practitioners were deported. This is really ridiculous."

Cairns saw the opening of the high profile art exhibition, Uncompromising Courage, at The House Art Gallery in Cairns on Tuesday.
The exhibition consists of 41 beautiful artworks that portray the journey of Falun Gong since its introduction to the world in China in 1992.
The exhibition consists of five stages and was put together by a professor of art Kunlun Zhang, who went through psychiatric and physical torture in China in 2001 because he practices Falun Gong.
On his release, he collaborated with 12 other artists, who also practice Falun Gong, to tell the story of the uncompromising courage of Falun Gong practitioners in China.
Falun Gong is a peaceful cultivation system, which consists of five gentle exercises, and has the principles of truth, compassion and tolerance. The Cairns exhibition was opened by Janet Walder of Amnesty International. Ms. Walder spoke of human rights abuses occurring in China today, and made reference to the Olympic Games to be held in China in 2008.
Ms. Walder encouraged everyone to see the "wonderful, yet disturbing, exhibition."
"These are things that are happening in China today and are painted by the very people who have witnessed and endured such treatment."

(Clearwisdom.net) Four Falun Gong practitioners from Taiwan appeared in the Court of First Instance in Hong Kong on September 20, 2005 to begin an appeal against their deportation from the Chinese territory. They requested a court review of the Immigration Department's "watch list." A number of media reported on the issue.
According to an AFP report on September 20, the four practitioners were among 80 Taiwanese practitioners of Falun Gong who came to Hong Kong for a Falun Gong conference in February 2003, but were detained at the border and refused entry, even though they held valid visas. The group claimed that immigration officials in Hong Kong had "roughly mistreated" the practitioners.
The four Falun Gong practitioners believe that their entry denial and the "violence" used by the authorities in handling the Falun Gong practitioners was "unlawful."
The report said that the four practitioners were given special permission by the Hong Kong government to enter the territory for the legal challenge. About thirty practitioners staged a sit-down protest outside the High Court during Tuesday's hearing.
South China Morning Post (SCMP) reported on September 21, Paul Harris - representing Theresa Chu Woan-chyi, Liao Hsiao-lan, Lu Lih-ching and Chang Jenn-yen - told Justice Michael Hartmann that immigration officers had revealed in court affirmations that the four posed a security risk to Hong Kong.
According to the SCMP report, they were stopped at Chek Lap Kok airport in February 2003 after arriving from Taiwan to attend the Hong Kong Falun Gong Experience Sharing Conference, organized by the Hong Kong Falun Dafa Association.
They were among 83 overseas Falun Gong practitioners refused entry to Hong Kong at the time, 80 of them from Taiwan.
The four were granted leave in April 2003 to conduct a judicial review of the director of immigration's decision to deny them entry to Hong Kong.
Kan Hung-cheung, spokesman for the local Falun Gong practitioners, and the Hong Kong Falun Dafa Association were granted permission by the Court of Appeals in June last year to join the judicial review application.
Mr. Harris made a "discovery application" September 20 to obtain documents relating to the government's decision to deny his clients entry to the city. He said that the documents could shed light on why the four were placed on the "watch list," as well as the rationale behind the director of immigration's decisions.
The report said that Mr. Harris told the court that the discovery application was a "constitutional review" and "a heightened scrutiny" of the government's decision.
He said Ms. Chu, an in-house lawyer with a US insurance company, was first denied entry when she and a group of fellow Falun Gong practitioners from Taiwan traveled to Hong Kong in June 2002.
But she was allowed to enter in January 2003 to attend a business conference. She was again refused entry the next month to attend the conference, despite being in possession of a valid visa.
"What kind of security threat could it be?" Mr. Harris asked. "Sometimes let in, sometimes not."
He argued in the judicial review application that the decision of the immigration director was unlawful and unreasonable because it was based solely on religious belief, without showing legitimate grounds for refusing entry to the four practitioners.
He added that the decision amounted to a form of religious discrimination.
The Standard, HK also reported on September 21 on the hearing. It stated, "The disclosure of the watch list came in a hearing for a judicial review application by four Taiwanese Falun Gong practitioners who claim the Director of Immigration's decision to refuse them entry was unlawful, executed with excessive force, and it violated their fundamental right to religious freedom."
According to the report, officials have acknowledged in the High Court that the government maintains an immigration watchlist to bar entry to those it considers a threat.
"For the applicants," senior counsel Paul Harris said, "apart from the fact that immigration officers say his clients posed a 'security risk,' there is no other evidence of the fact."
"That is all we have about the nature of the security risk," he said. "In other words, nothing."
"In the absence of any other explanation, 'common sense' will conclude the only reason for refusing them was because of their religious affiliation." said Harris.
"When 80 people are stopped, all of whom are overt Falun Gong practitioners coming to a Falun Gong conference, the natural inference is that they were stopped because of their beliefs."
"If there is some other completely unknown threat, then we say the court needs to know what the alternative explanation is." Harris said.
Human rights lawyer Mark Daly said he has heard mention of such an "immigration watch list" before but that the real, "pertinent question" is how one gets labeled a security risk.
(Clearwisdom.net) On September 9 and 10, 2005, with help from their parents, young Falun Gong practitioners from Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi and Tennessee started a two-day van tour to clarify the truth to the public and media about the persecution of Falun Gong in China, and the difficult situations of the orphans whose parents were killed in the persecution. They wanted to use this opportunity to ask President Bush to request the visiting Hu Jintao from China to stop the persecution and to help rescue these orphans to the United States so that they can have a healthy environment to live and study.

At about 10:00 a.m. on September 10, practitioners arrived in Birmingham, Alabama. A reporter from the local major newspaper Birmingham News attended the conference. After the practitioners set up the posters and truth-clarification display boards, a western senior citizen came and carefully looked at the pictures. One practitioner began to talk to him and answered his questions. After learning the truth, he was shocked and upset about the Communist Party's brutal persecution of Falun Gong. A reporter came and asked him if he would accept an interview and he agreed.
During the interview, he said that he was a resident of New Orleans. Because of the hurricane evacuation, he had come to stay with his daughter's family in Birmingham. He said the hurricane in the south was a natural disaster and humans couldn't avoid it. But what he saw here about the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China, this was a man-made disaster, and he hoped everyone who saw this interview would please step forward and help those Chinese people.
The senior citizen was actually an evacuee who had been driven out of his home by Hurricane Katrina and had just come from the evacuee service registration center. He also said he had no money left, otherwise he would donate some. A practitioner told him that we didn't collect donations. We are looking for the support from the public and to raise the awareness of the truth. We wished him success in rebuilding his home soon.

At about 1:00 p.m., the practitioners arrived at Decatur, Alabama. In order to save time, they only ate some snacks on the road. But when they arrived, they saw that the local reporter was already waiting for them. A practitioner apologized to him and others worked quickly to set up the press conference. During the press conference, the reporter took many photos and asked for a practitioner and her daughter's names.
At 3:00 p.m. the same day, some practitioners drove to the last destination city of the day, Florence, Alabama. Last week a few practitioners had hosted a workshop there to teach Falun Gong, and the local residents wanted them to come again this week. So they went there and reviewed the five sets of exercises with the new students. Afterwards, the practitioners briefly shared experiences with them. When they learned that the practitioners came from different states, they appreciated the practitioners for coming to teach the exercises even when the gas price was so high. A practitioner said that Falun Gong was precious and couldn't be valued with money. He encouraged them to continue doing the exercises and promised to help them set up the group practice site.
On September 11, the practitioners went to Huntsville, Alabama and held a press conference in a small park facing the city hall. A reporter from the local newspaper Huntsville Daily came to report on the event. Robert, a young practitioner from Atlanta Georgia, hosted this press conference. Robert is 12 years old and has practiced Falun Gong for a few years. Though he is young, he hosted the press conference very well and left a strong impression on the audience. Andy, another young practitioner from Atlanta Georgia, and Ashley, a young practitioner from Tennessee, gave speeches. The reporter from Huntsville Daily interviewed Ashley, asking her why she wanted to join the rescue van tour. Ashley said, "I really want to play at my friend's house. But I think rescuing the orphans is more important than playing."
When the press conference was about to end, a group of local residents came to the park. When they learned of the cruel persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China, they found it unimaginable and condemned the Chinese Communist Party's atrocities. The local reporter interviewed some of them too.
At about 2:00 p.m., the practitioners drove to Nashville, Tennessee and held a press conference in front of the city hall. This was the last stop of the van tour. A reporter for the local major newspaper, the Tennessean, came to report the event. Obviously, she was interested in talking to young practitioners, and she interviewed Ashley. Ashley said, "The orphans in China are innocent and do not deserve to be persecuted. We want to bring them to the United States."
(Clearwisdom.net) The annual Fall Festival is one of the major events of Blue Springs, Missouri and the parade is the most important activity of the festival. This year, the theme of the parade was "Fairytales Can Come True."
By 9:00 a.m. on September 17, 2005, the streets of Blue Springs were already crowded with excited spectators. It took some effort for practitioners arriving from Kansas City to make it through the crowds to reach the assembly area.

The carefully decorated Falun Gong float was like a fresh green lotus pond, with green leaves surrounding the lotus flowers. Lovely little girls sat in the center of the pink lotus flower, accompanied by the music "Pudu" and "Jishi." The green banner had white words on it, "Falun Dafa" and "Truthfulness Compassion Tolerance."
Spectators exclaimed, "It is amazing!" "Wow, it is beautiful..." People were eager to take the flyers passed out by practitioners.

(Clearwisdom.net) It was the Mid-Autumn Moon Festival again. What will have been the most meaningful activity? On the night of September 18, 2005, the moon was bright and the breeze mild and cool. Residents of Nanqian North Taoyuan gathered at the Yingpan Community Center to celebrate the Moon Festival. The Falun Dafa practitioners performed at the celebration party and provided the audience with a few moments of serenity in the midst of the bustling festivities.

Under the stage, one child did ten minutes' meditation with both legs crossed following the demonstration. During the demonstration, the audience was immersed in the benevolence and peacefulness of Dafa and became silent.

During the time she was detained at the labor camp, Yao Fengjie refused to write repentance statements, and was tortured with the "big hang up." (1) She was forced to sit in a metal chair and was shocked with electric batons. The guards dragged her to the restroom and stuffed her mouth with a mop because she refused to slander Dafa.
When she returned home in 2005, Yao Fengjie weighed less than 50 kg. (110 lbs.), a far cry from her earlier weight of 85 kg. (187 lbs.). The persecutors from Renli Police Station in Daowai District constantly harassed her at home, and she passed away on September 5, 2005.

1. "Big hang up": There are two forms in this torture: (1) With both hands cuffed behind the back and only the toes touching the ground, one is hung by a rope that is tied to the metal window frames. (2) One hand of a practitioner is cuffed to one bunk bed and the other hand to another bed, and the two beds are pulled in the opposite directions. One feels extreme pain as the body is pulled.

His family went right away, but Mr. Na Zhenxian had been tortured to death, and had many wounds on his body. We heard that his body is at Donghuayuan Funeral Home.

Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Na Zhenxian was a 58 year old farmer who lived in Zhiye Village, Xiqin Township, Shuangcheng City, Heilongjiang Province. He was previously known for his smoking pipe, and a drinking bottle that never left his hands. He had ailments all over his body, and could not do farming labor. Ever since he started cultivating Falun Dafa in 1996, he quit smoking and drinking, all his ailments disappeared, and he joined field labor. His family had a much better relationship with him.
Since July 20, 1999, when the persecution of Falun Dafa began, Mr. Na Zhenxian had been arrested many times, extorted of several thousand yuan, and detained in a brainwashing class and Shuangcheng City Detention Center for several months. On November 4, 1999, police from a local station ransacked his home, took away his Falun Dafa materials, handcuffed him and three fellow practitioners onto the heating pipes in the Station for more than twenty hours, and extorted 1500 yuan. On May 16, 2001, he was detained for 70 days by Shuangcheng City police, and fined 700 yuan by the 610 Office and the detention center.
On the evening of February 27, 2004, Mr. Na Zhenxian was once again arrested at his home by Pan Chunku (male) and Sun Jinxing (male) of the Township government and police station. They sent him to Shuangcheng City Police Department the next morning at around 4:00 a.m., and locked him in Shuangcheng City Second Detention Center. During detention, Police Station Head Sun Jinxing and his helper Zhang Xiaoyin (male) tried many times to extort more money from his family, but in vain. They then had Mr. Na Zhenxian sentenced to two years of forced labor without any evidence or legal grounds. Mr. Na was locked in the Fourth Ward of Changlinzi Men's Forced Labor Camp.
On October 11, 2004, the camp administration, education office and management office combined man power to gather in the Fourth Ward, some carrying electric batons, some wearing army belts. First, the education office head, Wang Yi'ou (male), gave a lecture on labor reform in the Fourth Ward, and then prison guard Niu Tiejun (male) forced Falun Dafa practitioners study the labor camp rules. Suddenly, with the excuse of someone's reading voice being too low, prisoners dragged Falun Dafa practitioners Mr. Yao Shiguo, Mr. Kou Fangqi, Mr. Na Zhenxina and eight other practitioners one by one to prepared rooms, then threatened and beat them under encouragement by the prison guards. Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. He Qinghui was beaten the most severely, and passed out for more than ten days, and lapsed into a coma. Police tried to block the information after this tragedy, and fabricated lies to escape their responsibilities.

Details:
1. How Mr. Xu Jishan died from the persecution
Mr. Xu Jishan, 41, was an employee of the former Machine Repair Factory Construction Workshop, affiliated with the Furnace Company, Construction Corporation of Daqing Oil and Chemistry Factory in Heilongjiang Province. Because he did not renounce Falun Dafa, he was fired. In March 2004, Mr. Xu was arrested and detained in the Longfeng Detention Center in Daqing City for distributing Falun Gong materials. He was sentenced to three years in prison and detained at the Seventh Ward of Hongweixing Prison in Daqing City.
On May 10, 2005, in the twelfth area of the Seventh Ward, a policeman, Education Director Zhang Dezhi, criminal inmate Li Liancai and others conspired against Xu Jishan to make him write the five statements denouncing Falun Gong. When Mr. Xu refused, he was not allowed to sleep and had to stand in the hallway for seven days and nights. As a result, Mr. Xu's legs became so swollen that he was no longer able to stand. They then tied him to a ladder between the upper and lower beds and doused him with cold water. His winter clothes were soaking wet. He loudly called for help. After eight days, Mr. Xu had become extremely weak, and his legs were severely swollen. The criminals assigned to watch him around the clock beat and tortured him cruelly. Chen Zhongyu was the most vicious. He beat and cursed at Mr. Xu whenever he felt like it.
On June 1, 2005, Education Director Zhang Dezhi announced that they would increase pressure and employ various methods of torture on practitioners who refused to write the five statements. In the early morning of June 7, Mr. Xu Jishan made the bed, cleaned the cell, and cleaned the room where they try to brainwash practitioners. He had a bowl of rice soup and a piece of bread for breakfast. He was in good physical condition. After breakfast, he cleaned the spitpot in the brainwashing room, cleaned the room again and then sat down. At around 8:40 a.m., Zhang Dezhi and criminal inmates Li Liancai, Bo Yun and others discussed what tortures they could use to force Mr. Xu to write the five statements. After giving instructions to the criminals, Zhang Dezhi left the room. Around 8:50 a.m., Li Liancai and Bo Yun asked Mr. Xu if he would write the five statements. He said, "I can do whatever you ask of me, EXCEPT writing the five statements." Bo Yun said, "No further discussion is needed. Don't say that I did not give you a chance." After that he left the room.
At 9:00 a.m., inmate Li Liancai asked the other criminals to bring two boards from a bed at one end of the room. They tied the boards into a cross and claimed that it was for Mr. Xu. Inmate Wang Minglong got a rope. After everything was ready, inmates Guo Liyang, Wang Minglong, Wu Hongyan and Zhou Xiaofei asked Mr. Xu to come and join them. Before 9:00 a.m., Wang Minglong told all the other prisoners in the study room to use the toilets. He told them, "Whoever doesn't go cannot expect to use the toilet before noon." Mr. Xu also wanted to go, but Wang Minglong stopped him and said, "No, wait a while." After all prisoners had left the room, he told Mr. Xu to come with him. After 9:00 a.m., they locked the doors of the study room and hallway. Song Yulong watched the hallway door and did not allow anyone to enter or leave. The criminals assigned to watch Mr. Xu around the clock watched the study room door. There were over 10 inmates and the one practitioner Zhao Yu'an locked in the study room from the inside. Criminals Wang Guangyao and Zhai Fugang watched him. All the other criminal inmates assigned to monitor practitioners began to persecute Mr. Xu.
They stripped Mr. Xu and tied him to the cross. They sealed his mouth, carried the cross into the restroom and laid it on the ground. They used a black hose four inches in diameter and about four yards long to pour water on Mr. Xu's head and body for four hours, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. By that time, he was shaking, he could barely breath, and the pain was unbearable. He bit his lips and tried to cry out for help.
Policeman Zhang Dezhi came to the restroom several times to check on Mr. Xu at around 9:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., and 12:00 p.m. Mr. Xu did not respond. They did not allow him to eat lunch. Inmate Li Liancai said, "We gave you the chance, but you refused to take it. Now, you no longer have a choice."
At 1:00 p.m., inmate Wang Anhui went to the Disciplinary Room, looking nervous. He was looking for Zhang Dezhi. At that moment, Mr. Xu was brought out of the restroom and put on the ground in the hallway, about four yards from the restroom. The door of the study room was unlocked. Inmate Yang Qinghua was ordered to clean the restroom. Later, Yang Qinghua and inmates Guo Liyang and Wang Anhui put underwear on Mr. Xu's head. His head flopped back and forth and he looked very sick. They tried to help Mr. Xu stand up, but he did not respond. They could not feel his heartbeat or breath. Someone then claimed that Mr. Xu was pretending to be dead.
Bu Yun held his hand under Mr. Xu's nose to check his breath. He confirmed that he was not breathing. Bu Yun ordered others to carry Mr. Xu to the bed. Bu Yun, Li Liancai, Wang Anhui and Guo Liyang tried to resuscitate Mr. Xu. Practitioner Zhao Yu'an arrived from the study room and tried to get close to Mr. Xu, but Li Liancai, Bu Yun and other criminals stopped him. Li Liancai and Bu Yun angrily shouted, "Who opened the door and let him in?" Bu Yun went into the study room to scold those responsible and locked the door personally. It was past 1:00 p.m.
Policeman Zhang Dezhi, while standing on the stairs outside the cell, chatted with the other inmates. He went into the cell and told the inmates to send Mr. Xu to a hospital. Afterwards, Li Liancai and Bu Yun called a meeting of all involved criminals and those who monitored practitioners. They said that Mr. Xu had died from natural causes and that everyone must keep to this line when talking about his death. They also put practitioner Zhao Yu'an under closer supervision and refused to let him to talk to, get close to, or contact anyone. The police tried to cover up the truth of Mr. Xu's death. At around 2:00 p.m., he was carried back from the hospital. Inmates put him on his bed, changed his clothes, and carried him out.
During Mr. Xu's torture, the study room door faced the door of the restroom. Those locked in the study room sneaked a look from the door and could see Mr. Xu's lower half. People noticed that he lay on the ground for over four hours. Policeman Zhang Dezhi is the person primarily responsible for Mr. Xu's death. The murderers are: Li Liancai, Guo Liyang, Wang Anhui, and Bu Yun. The accomplices are: Zhou Xiaofei, Wu Hongyan, Yao Haile, Wang Minglong, and Song Yulong. There were another 17 or 18 criminals present.
An eyewitness said that Mr. Xu's mouth and nose were bloody and the corner of his mouth had bite marks. Mr. Xu was tortured to death.
2. How Qaqing Prison covered up the truth of Mr. Xu Jishan's death
(1) After Xu Jishan was tortured to death on the night of June 10, Wang Yingjie called a meeting of everyone involved in the death. He ordered them not to depart from the agreed-upon explanation of Mr. Xu's death. They had to cover up the crime. On June 11, officials from the Daqing City Procuratorate came to investigate the death. Li Liancai, Guo Liyang and Wang Anhui, the criminal inmates who had been assigned to monitor Mr. Xu, were sent to confinement cells and subjected to further interrogation. The Daqing Prison authorities wanted to shirk their responsibility, so they interrogated these criminals, forced them to cooperate, and prepared confessions. Daqing Prison and its Seventh Ward repeated to outsiders, the Procuratorate and Xu Jishan's family that Xu Jishan had died from heart disease. They tried to control everyone, cover the truth, and closely monitor the people who were involved or knew the truth of Mr. Xu's death.
(2) Zhang Dezhi, the Director of the Seventh Ward, ordered the criminal inmates to murder practitioner Xu Jishan, and the Daqing Prison police are now contacting different officials trying to cover their crime. They want Mr. Xu's death to be recorded as a "death from natural causes." On June 10, during a meeting with all prisoners, the police threatened that whoever did not obey their order and revealed information to the outside would be locked in a confinement cell, so no one dared to reveal the truth of Mr. Xu's death.
(3) Daqing Prison tried to secretly settle with Xu Jishan's family for 150,000 yuan, which the family refused. Tang Guofu, the secretary of the Communist Party Committee of Daqing Prison, and Jiang Shuchen, deputy head of the prison and director of the 610 Office, are attempting to bribe officials of the Supreme Court and the Procuratorate of Heilongjiang Province, the People's Procuratorate Court of Daqing City, the People's Supreme Court of Heilongjiang, and the Intermediate Court of Daqing City. The perpetrators admit that they would settle for 1.5 million yuan rather than be subjected to punishment under the law.
(4) To draw people's attention away from Mr. Xu's death and escape responsibility, the Secretary of the Communist Party Committee of Daqing Prison, Tang Guofu, was transferred to another job, away from Daqing Prison. The former secretary of the Communist Party Committee in the Hulu District took over his position.
(5) On June 8, after Mr. Xu was murdered, his elder brother had only a short time to view the body and was monitored closely by prison staff. No other family members were allowed to view the body. The head of the Seventh Ward said, " We cannot allow them to look. What if they take a picture?" The prison ordered the hospital to immediately call them if Mr. Xu's family wanted to view his body. Without permission from the prison and the presence of prison officials, no one was allowed to view the body. The Chief of the Public Security Bureau of the Hulu Branch told practitioners, "Go home and tell the other practitioners that there is no conclusion regarding Xu Jishan's death. Whoever dares to investigate will be arrested."
Li Liancai, the main criminal in Xu Jishan's death, is somehow related to the head of the Seventh Ward Li Fengjiang. Li Liancai bribed Li Fengjiang with 10,000 yuan and became the head of the criminals in the cell. From what we have heard as of now, Li Fengjiang ordered Li Liancai to kill Mr. Xu.
Daqing Prison Policy Regarding Falun Gong
On May 11, 2005, the Communist Party Committee of Daqing Prison called a meeting and decided to intensify the persecution of Falun Gong. Someone announced during the meeting that death from a hunger strike would be counted and treated as a natural death. They had the hospital prepare a large number of feeding tubes for force-feeding practitioners that went on hunger strikes. They also ordered the "food" to be a concentrated solution of salty water with corn flour instead of milk powder. Guo Chuntang announced when discussing the persecution of Falun Gong, "It is of no consequence to persecute several practitioners to death." Police Pan Shaolin of the ward for ill prisoners incited criminals while implementing Guo Chuntang's instruction, saying, "You can beat practitioners to death!"
Li Fengjiang yelled when persecuting Mr. Xu Jishan, "Cremate him if he refuses to be "transformed"!" They took 15 days to torture Mr. Xu to death. The head of the ward for ill prisoners instructed criminals to persecute practitioner Cheng Peiming and said in front of all the inmates, "I'm positive I can make you give in. You don't fear death. Therefore, I also can throw away the law. The worst situation would be that I quit this job." He also told the criminal on-duty to suffocate Cheng Peiming with a rope if Cheng Peiming went to use the toilet, and then report it as a suicide if Cheng died. Pan Shaolin also told criminal Zhen Yingjie that when a practitioner was tortured to death, and if there was no outsider present, the death would be reported as suicide.
The suffering of practitioners detained in Daqing Prison is beyond imagination. The prison staff follows the most vicious methods that the Chinese Communist Party could come up with. Actually, higher level people control the lower levels of people. The prison assigned the persecution of Falun Gong to inmates, who were assigned to monitor the practitioners around the clock. If a practitioner refused to write the five statements, the criminal would be punished by not having a chance for a reduced term. The police incited the criminals to use evil and vicious ways to torture practitioners, such as sleep deprivation, dousing with cold water, beating, tying up with ropes, stabbing with needles, and no toilet privileges. The police pretend to hear and see nothing, no matter the crime being perpetrated. Any accident will be covered up by the police. In April 2003, a practitioner from the Second Ward died after being tortured for a long time. Yet the police and criminals told others that the death was due to a cerebral hemorrhage. Later, the inmate in the same cell with that practitioner unintentionally disclosed the truth, that the practitioner had often been beaten. Three days before the practitioner's death, inmate Ai beat the practitioner. In December 2004, the police beat practitioner Zhang Zhong until he was paralyzed. After being hospitalized for six months, Zhang Zhong's situation was worse. Later, Zhang Zhong was released on medical parole. In April 2005, Practitioner Wang Hongde from the Third Ward died. This was 15 days after he was released on medical parole. His body was covered with wounds. On June 7, 2005, practitioner Xu Jishan was tortured to death by several criminals. On July 23, practitioner Yuan Qingjiang died from torture in this prison.
Yet Daqing Prison doesn't admit that there is any persecution of Falun Gong. Inside the prison, the persecution is inhuman. The methods they use on Falun Gong practitioners are despicable and beyond any description. The prison carried out the genocidal policy toward Falun Gong as directed by higher levels, "Ruin their reputations, bankrupt them financially, and destroy them physically. No one will be responsible for beating them to death. Their deaths count as suicides. Cremate them without investigation." During the three months since May 14, 2005, prison staff and inmates have killed three practitioners who followed the principle "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance" and who wanted to be good people. These practitioners were: Wang Hongde, male, 56, employee of Xinhua Power Plant in Datong District of Daqing City; Xu Jishan, the practitioner discussed in this article; and Yuan Qingjiang, male, resident in Xiangfang District of Harbin City.
China's Constitution clearly spells out in Articles 35, 36 and 37, "Citizens have the right of belief. Citizens have the right of freedom of speech. Citizens' physical freedom may not be violated. It is forbidden to illegally detain a citizen or to illegally deprive a citizen of or limit a citizen's physical freedom." Article 19 of the International Joint Pledge states, "Everyone has the right to freely express his/her opinion through media without boundaries of countries and receive and send messages in oral, written, printed, art or other types of forms." In the "Universal Declaration of Human Rights," Articles 18 and 9 state, "Everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religious belief. No one should be willfully arrested or detained."
Falun Gong and its principle "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance" provide a moral standard for human beings. These principles belong to all people of the world. Over 78 countries around the world and more than 100 million people practice Falun Gong. Falun Gong receives praise and proclamations from many places around the world. In China, there is no specific law banning Falun Gong. Therefore, all practitioners detained in prison are victimized. Daqing Prison as a law enforcement entity is breaking the law. It ignores the Constitution, Criminal Law and Prison Law. Those perpetrating these crimes, including all personnel, police and criminals, must be brought to justice.
We will continue the investigation of the responsible parties and individuals in the persecution of Falun Gong.

(Clearwisdom.net) On August 16, 2005, the family of Jiang Lanying, a Dafa practitioner in Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province, received notice that she was in extreme life threatening condition. But her family was not allowed to visit the hospital to see her. It was said that while in this condition, Jiang was maltreated by the head of the third team, surnamed Hu.
In fact, the above notice was issued to the local community office from the labor camp hospital, but it was held there. In June 2005, the police pressured Jiang's family to sign an agreement, in which they let Jiang's family take the responsibility for Jiang's life.
Jiang Lanying, 39, was arrested on July 11, 2002, and was imprisoned in Jiangxi Forced Labor Camp Hospital, where she was tortured, persecuted and force-fed for three years. The police said they would never release her, even if she died in the hospital.
Jiang Lanying went to Beijing to clarify the truth three times in 1999. She was sent to the third detention center by the police of Qingshan Road Police Station. The wardens there encouraged the detainees to beat her and splash cold water and urine on her body during the cold winter. In January 2000 she was transferred to Jiangxi Women's Prison and was released after she was persecuted to near-death in January 2002. On the evening of July 11, 2002, police from Qingshan Road Police Station rushed into her home and arrested her. In the police station, Wang Wei and Zhou Xiangfeng beat her with an electric baton and an iron bar. Wang Wei put a chair on Jiang's feet and sat on it. Jiang was tortured for three days there. Later they put Jiang into a detention center and did not allow her family members to visit. At the end of February 2003, the authorities called her family members to the hospital, and only at this moment did they learn that Jiang had been sentenced for five years. Seeing that Jiang was very emaciated and in poor health, her mother requested her release for medical treatment. The officers of the hospital replied that they would not do that and Jiang would have to die if she refused to eat.
On June 1, 2005, more than ten police officers took Jiang's parents to the labor camp hospital. Jiang was bound to a bed and forced to take injections. They let reporters take photographs of her and said, "You have seen everything. She refuses to take food and we will not be responsible if she continues to be like this." They wanted Jiang's parents to sign a paper but they refused. The officers said, "We will not set her free until she dies." At that time police officer Wang Wei viciously claimed, "I don't care whether you sue me. I just want to let her die."

(Clearwisdom.net) Dafa disciple Sun Liwen from Dalian City has been abducted by the Heishijiao Police Station. The request from his ailing mother, who is already very old and is suffering from a fatal disease, to see her son, has also been inhumanely rejected.
Sun Liwen, 32, lives in Heishijiao. He studied at the Dalian Architecture Vocational School between 1991 and 1995. After graduating he was dispatched to work at the Dalian Fifth Construction Company. He was dismissed from his job in 1999. In 1997 he began practicing Falun Gong. After the persecution of Falun Gong began on July 20, 1999, he went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa, but was imprisoned and persecuted in the Dalian City Detention Center. After being released, he was sent to the Dalian Rehabilitation Center. Later he was sent to the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp and imprisoned for one year. Not long after, he was sentenced to another three years in Jilin Province. Later, his sentence was even lengthened by a few months.
On the night of June 30, 2005, under the instigation of the National Protection Team, officers from the Dalian Heishijiao Police Station went to Sun Liwen's home and tricked him into coming with them to the police station to sign a few documents. Sun's family was afraid of being tricked, so they sent Sun's younger brother to accompany him to the police station. Nevertheless, two hours after they left, Sun's family members were told that Sun was detained. The police also forcibly entered and ransacked their home.
After the incident, Sun Liwen's brother revealed that after they reached the police station, Sun Liwen was imprisoned and lost his freedom. After that, the police broke into their home and confiscated the computer and all the CDs belonging to Sun Liwen's brother. When Sun's family members later asked for their property to be returned, only the computer was returned. They were told that all the CDs were gone. No more clues could be found, even after inquiries to many other departments.
Sun Liwen's mother is a breast cancer patient, and her cancer cells have spread to her lungs and bones. After this chain of persecutory events, Sun's mother's disease has worsened and she is now facing imminent death. She really wants to see her son again before she dies, but even this small wish has been refused by the detention center authorities.
Currently, Sun Liwen is imprisoned in the Dalian City Yaojia Detention Center. According to sources, the National Protection Team has already transferred his case to the Ganjingzi People's Procuratorate. He has also appealed to the courts.
Ever since Sun Liwen began practicing Falun Gong, he has followed the principles of "Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance" strictly to become a better person. Regardless of him being a good person, he is still being constantly persecuted. To all Dalian City residents, please lend a helping hand and lend your righteous moral support to Sun Liwen. Among the torture instruments is small stool. This instrument is 5 centimeters (2 inches) wide, 15 centimeters (6 inches) long, 5 centimeters (2 inches) high. Practitioners were forced to sit on this stool daily for over 15 or 16 hours. And they were forced to sit with their backs straight, with feet extending 30 centimeters (12 inches) from the stool. Having the legs together like this puts pressure from the full weight of the body, concentrating this pressure on one's bottom. Practitioners were forced to sit on this stool in this manner every day. Practitioner Liu Zhengang's bottom had rotted and thus suffered from an infection. Still they didn't release him.
If a practitioner resists this torture, he would be forced to wear handcuffs and shackles weighing over 20 lbs., locked into a small cell, and tortured every day. Shackles replaced the other torture devices. For so-called interrogation, they would force the practitioner to go up and down the stairs multiple times every day. Their purpose was to rub the shackles against the ankles. This happened two or three times a day. Practitioner's ankles were rubbed, causing bleeding and rotting. Police also incited prisoners to push a practitioner from the back or step on the shackles, so as to cause the practitioners to fall to the ground. In April 2005, prison guard Liu Yunling even forced a newly arrived practitioner to wear handcuffs and shackles, put the practitioner into a small cell and otherwise tortured him/her for one month.
During this year, guard Yang Bo used shackles as a torture instrument to torture practitioner Cai Lirong several times. Each time it lasted for over ten days. This kind of torture is still being used today.
Guard Fan Yasheng used a cigarette lighter to burn practitioner Zhou Changhe's face when forcing practitioners to reform. Scars still remain on Zhou's face today.
Prison guards Lu Wenyuan, Fan Yasheng, Yang Bo, Liu Yunling compelled prisoners to forcibly "reform" practitioners to avoid being held responsible. Prisoners then deprived practitioners of sleep for 24 hours, put sleeping pills in the water and soup, forbid practitioners to use the restroom, beat practitioners and subjected them to other atrocities. Criminals tortured practitioners ruthlessly to obtain reductions in their prison terms.

(Clearwisdom.net) My name is Qiqi (a pseudonym). I am a 14-year-old Falun Dafa practitioner from China.
In 1996, at the age of five, I began to cultivate in Falun Dafa. My parents and I practiced Dafa since then and my mind and body have benefited greatly. Before I began practicing, I suffered from pneumonia and bronchopneumonia and was often hospitalized. My right arm still shows the needle marks from many injections. Since I started practicing Falun Dafa, my health has improved and I no longer need to be hospitalized or take medicine. My mother endured severe rheumatism and was bedridden at that time. After she started practicing Falun Dafa, she regained her health within one month and was able to play with me.
Falun Dafa requires practitioners to live by the principle of Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance and to be good persons. After we started practicing Falun Dafa, we all eliminated our shortcomings and our family became happy and harmonious. Dafa gave me a good family and a happy childhood. Tens of thousands of families have benefited from practicing Falun Dafa.
Everything has changed since July 20, 1999, when the Chinese Communist Party banned Falun Gong. Soon after that, two policemen came to our home and searched it without giving a reason. They confiscated all of our Dafa books and Teacher's picture. They arrested my mother. I was eight years old and was very frightened. In school, the teacher in charge of our class (my mother had introduced Falun Dafa's book to her, but she refused to read it) always asked me, "Do your father and mother still practice Falun Gong?"
Since 2000, the police have often come to our home to harass us and talk about "problems with Falun Gong." On every holiday, the police call to tell us, "Don't go to Beijing to appeal." I was afraid they would arrest my mother again. I was under pressure every time the police showed up at our home. I couldn't understand why they always came to our home.
On January 23, 2001, the so-called "Tiananmen Square Self-immolation" took place. All TV stations and media reported this incident that, as I later learned, the government itself staged. I was very young and was unable to judge truth from lies. After I saw people being burned and in flames and heard the stories told by some people with unclear minds, I couldn't fall asleep at night. I had great fear for a long time. At night, the images of those self-immolators frequently appeared in my mind and I was afraid to turn the light off. After a while, when I became scared I would wake up my mother. She would read the Dafa book with me and I was then able to go to sleep.
After the winter break, when we went back to school, our teacher brought up the subject and told the class that Dafa was bad and that Dafa practitioners had mental disorders. She also asked the class, "Do any of your parents practice Falun Gong?" Several of my classmates knew my parents practiced Falun Gong and they all glanced at me. My heart felt as if a needle pierced it. Afterwards, I overheard my classmates chatting behind my back, "Her parents practice Falun Gong. Do they have a mental disorder? Will they commit suicide?" The school also issued booklets slandering Dafa. Articles slandering Dafa were also included in our textbooks. The Communist Party didn't care about the mental health of children as they included photos of the staged self-immolation in our textbooks. Their goal was to scare children and to turn them against Falun Gong. Teacher also wanted us to discuss the subject in class. Due to long time pressure and the false information that the Communist Party publicized, I didn't dare to talk about Dafa, and I gave up Dafa cultivation. I was ten years old then.
During the time I did not practice Dafa, I no longer followed the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance. I would fight to be the class leader and to obtain awards. After 2003, my health became poor. I often had stomach spasms. Once my stomach was in so much pain that I felt as if I were going to die. My energy and physical health began to deteriorate. Every spring and winter I came down with a cold.
Later, my mother took me to Singapore and Malaysia on a vacation. She wanted me to learn the truth. To my surprise, I found that Falun Dafa had spread all over the world and practitioners overseas were clarifying the truth to people about the Chinese Communist Party persecuting Falun Gong. I met many Dafa practitioners in Singapore and Malaysia. They gave me the "False Fire" VCD and photos showing that Dafa had spread around the world. After seeing these materials, I thought about the photos published in China and found many questionable points: Why did the plastic bottle filled with gasoline that was in the self-immolator's lap not melt? Why was the woman who allegedly drank half a bottle of gasoline still o.k.? Generally, a person who drank that amount of gasoline would have died. Instead, she was full of life and slandering Dafa. All of the self-immolators were wrapped with bandages after they were treated in the hospital. It is common medical practice that burn victims should not have their burned skin wrapped, to facilitate healing. Slow-motion photos showed that Liu Chunling was hit with something, which killed her on the spot. The 12-year-old girl was able to talk clearly and call out for her mother after she had a trachea incision.
After returning home, I began again practicing Dafa with my parents. I also clarified the truth to my classmates and teachers. I told them, "The Communist Party is persecuting Falun Gong practitioners inhumanely. They fabricated lies to deceive us. Falun Dafa is good." My classmates all agreed with me. Some of my classmates who just returned from Hong Kong said they had seen Dafa practitioners clarifying the truth and putting on exhibits.
All students in China have to take a political science course. It teaches Communist Party ideology. Our political science teacher told us that the Chinese people had the right to organize public parades, and demonstrate and the right to appeal to their government. Then she added, "But those who practice Falun Gong do not have this right, since they are against the party and our government." She attacked Falun Gong in the class, but without mentioning the persecution of Falun Gong. The class was given exercise problems dealing with Falun Gong. I was very sad that day and tore up the sheet with the problem. Later, I told another teacher that I didn't want to write anything that slanders Falun Gong. She said, "I understand and I know what is going on. But you need to pay attention to your own safety in a country like China."
Many people in China who do not know the truth do not respect others' beliefs. They innocently do wrong things because the Communist Party is deceiving them. Even my own relatives might harm us because we are Falun Gong practitioners. That was why I always clarified the truth to people when I rode a cab, or talked to my teachers or to strangers.
In May 2005, I was shocked to find out through a third party that the 610 Office was investigating my parents. They told us that as soon as they found any evidence they would arrest us. They threatened us, saying, "We have been watching you for a long time. Not only do you do the Falun Gong exercises and tell others about Falun Gong, you also have connections with overseas Falun Gong practitioners. This is very serious." My mind was reeling. Every day I worried about my parents' safety. I wanted to call them but I knew my cell phone was monitored (because it was registered under my mother's name). I wasn't sure whether my parents would come to pick me up after class and worried about where I would be during the weekend.
I felt very lonely, helpless and terrified. I was afraid that my parents might be arrested, jailed, beaten, shocked with electric batons, force-fed, and forced to give up their beliefs. I worried that no one would give them food or clothing. I worried that they would have to go to jail and be in a cell with criminals. I worried about mother being thrown into the men's jail. I worried that I'd be sent to an orphanage, etc. I worried that they would persecute our entire family, because we believe in Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance.
I cried during class. My classmates and teachers were very concerned, but I couldn't tell them the truth. Later, my classmates took me to see a doctor. After a consultation, the doctor told me, "You have too great of a mental burden." He asked me the reason, but I couldn't tell him the real reason. Even though I was very fearful, I didn't want them to worry about me because of this difficult situation. Therefore, I didn't tell them anything. I only wrote it once in my diary. I really wanted to call my parents, but I couldn't do it.
Later, we were forced to become homeless to avoid arrest and persecution. Every day we wouldn't know where we would be the next day. I lived with relatives, in hotels, and in the homes of fellow practitioners. Once, the three of us lived in a car. Later, we were able to go overseas.
We finally arrived at the airport, at a place of freedom. I thought I'd be safe from then on, and father and mother wouldn't be arrested again. But trouble once again fell upon us. Because of my mother's "Falun Gong problem," she was prohibited from entering the country and the immigration officer took away her passport. I felt as if I had been stricken by lightning, and my entire body trembled. Mother told father and me to leave quickly to avoid our whole family being sent back. I mechanically walked downstairs and started to cry with a broken heart. I told my father again and again. "Mother cannot be here with us because of Falun Gong."
I was in despair and felt that there was no place for me in this world. The 610 Office would arrest her. If mother were sent back to China, she would be sent to a forced labor camp. We wouldn't be seeing each other any more. I cried bitterly for more than an hour. Later, father used a public phone to call people for help.
At about 9 o'clock, I felt that I couldn't wait any longer so I went looking for my mother. Because father doesn't speak English, I shuttled back and forth in the airport and then went to find the airport police. They did their best to call all the airport offices, but couldn't find mother. Later a policeman took me to the immigration office. I talked to the staff for a while and showed them my mother's airline ticket and her passport number. I was told that mother had left the airport and had entered the country. But I still wasn't sure that mother had really left the airport. From my experience dealing with police in China, I remembered that they lie a lot, especially when dealing with Falun Gong practitioners. The police use every possible means to deceive Dafa practitioners, so they can sentence them and send them to forced labor camps. Since I didn't have a local phone card, I couldn't contact anyone. I went to see another officer and she sent someone to find out. Later the person called the officer back to tell her that my mother had left the airport. Father and I fell asleep in the airport lobby at 3:00 a.m. By 7:00 a.m., we heard that mother was safe. At 8:00 a.m., I was relieved to see my mother.
Several days after we arrived, the local 610 Office back home didn't want to let the matter slide. They arrested several Dafa practitioners who had maintained close contact with us. I found out about this from reading the Minghui website (the Chinese version of Clearwisdom.net). Those arrested included several aunts whom I knew since I was little. We used to do the exercises together in the park. When my parents couldn't care for me, they would buy me my favorite food and take me to their home to study the Fa with them. They were persecuted in a forced labor camp because of their belief in Falun Gong.
The labor camp used to be a juvenile detention facility. In 1999, when the Chinese government began persecuting Falun Gong, they converted it to a forced labor camp. Most of the "prisoners" were Dafa practitioners. Several Dafa practitioners were tortured to death there. Many of them developed mental disorders or became deformed physically or even blind by the time they were released.
The police in the forced labor camp used ruthless means to torture them. For example, they made Dafa practitioners stand in the snow for several hours or even days when the temperature was below -10 degrees Celsius (about 14 degrees Fahrenheit), wearing only light clothing. Their sentences were arbitrarily extended. They were beat and humiliated and put into pigpens. They forced female practitioners to do heavy labor for longer than twelve hours each day.
In the forced labor camp, those Dafa practitioners who refused to be "reformed" were forced to wear a yellow tag, and those who had been "reformed" wore a red tag. Food was given based on the same criteria. The "un-reformed" practitioners were given the worst and the least amount of food. For example, they were given watermelon skin to eat and some were only given one meal a day. They were forced to do long hours of heavy labor. The guards ordered inmates to monitor the practitioners. The inmates were told they could beat, scold, or even use cruel means to torture them. Some Dafa practitioners went on hunger strikes in protest and the inmates force-fed them. As a form of torture, they used salt and cornmeal mixed with a small amount of water to force-feed them. Countless Dafa practitioners have died because of such forced-feedings.
The Chinese government blocks all websites and bans TV stations from broadcasting the facts about the persecution of Dafa practitioners, just like they block information about the students who were killed during the student democracy movement in Tiananmen Square in 1989. In China we can only see the falsified reports. Once I tried to search on Google for the "June 4 Student Movement." This caused my PC to lock up for several days. Because I was forced to wander about without a home for a long time, I missed school a lot. I thought about a free country where no one would discriminate against me or disrespect me just because of my belief in "Truthfulness, Compassionate, Forbearance," a country where my family would be safe, a country where I could freely say, "Falun Dafa is good." I thought that I would be able to do more for Dafa before I arrived in that country.
During the three months when I was forced to wander from place to place, I met many Falun Gong practitioners who were so severely tortured that some had lost one eye and some became blind in both eyes. There were practitioners who were beaten when they went to Beijing to appeal to the government for the right to practice. Some were shocked with electric batons and hung up for days after they were arrested. Some people were force-fed with salty water. Some were beaten by the inmates on orders from the guards in the forced labor camps. There were some who were forced to do hard labor for longer than ten hours or even twenty hours a day without being paid even a penny. Some were forced to divorce their husbands who were working for stated-owned organizations. There were those whose children were harassed or sent to orphanages. Some were forced to sever their ties to their relatives. Some were cut off from their financial resources. There were practitioners who were imprisoned in forced labor camps and denied family visitation. The perpetrators even forbade a mother from seeing her two-year-old baby. Some were forced to leave China and be far away from their families. I had seen all of those miserable situations.
An aunt told me about a sad situation she witnessed in a labor camp. The guards in the labor camp ordered several inmates to restrain a female Dafa practitioner on a long bench, while another prisoner mixed two bags of 500 grams (about 1 lb.) of salt with a small amount water in a bowl to make concentrated salt water. (They had to obey the guards or suffer persecution themselves.) They then used a dirty toothbrush to pry open her mouth and poured the whole bowl of salt water into her mouth. The female practitioner was so restrained that she wasn't able to move at all. All Dafa practitioners and prisoners cried.
Even under such tremendous pressure, all Dafa practitioners still displayed their gentleness, rationality and kindness. When they were asked whether they hated those who persecuted them, they all said they didn't detest them and if there were any chance, they would clarify the truth to them. The ruthless persecution couldn't destroy their firm belief in Dafa.
I have chosen to cultivate in Dafa, even though I knew the path would be very difficult. I understood that I would be forced to leave my family, my home and my beloved country. I know all Dafa practitioners have walked the path that has never been walked by others. I myself have experienced miracles and gained happiness in life by following the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance. I firmly believe that both China and I have benefited from it. I want to tell the entire world, "Falun Dafa is good." There is nothing wrong in believing in Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance. The world needs Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance! Please do everything you can to stop the persecution of Falun Dafa."

"In the course of your cultivation, each one of you should understand correctly the relationship between your personal cultivation and Fa-rectification. How should you view the tribulations and trials that you experience? I can tell you that if a person doesn't have that much karma, he absolutely won't have tribulations that severe. You should clearheadedly distinguish personal cultivation from evil's persecution of the Fa."
"I can tell you that the suffering and tribulations endured by our Dafa disciples are not only aimed at their personal cultivation -- there are also factors related to high-level beings' testing Dafa using the fact that the students have karma, using "improving them" as an excuse, and using degenerate beings at low levels to carry out the persecution. In fact, all of these have harmed the Fa-rectification."

An article written by a fellow practitioner stated that a police officer came to his house one day to make an arrest. The practitioner then quickly focused his mind on eliminating all evil that came to persecute him. This did not deter the officer. Instead, the officer broke in through a window and tried to enter the house that way. Then, the practitioner re-focused his righteous thoughts again, this time on eliminating all evil the persecuted Dafa. That had an effect. The officer quickly left the scene.
A couple went out to distribute Falun Dafa truth clarification materials. That day, the result was surprisingly fruitful. The people around them did not pay attention to them at all, and they quickly finished distributing their fliers without interference. On their way home, the husband seemed puzzled by the results. The wife said to him, "Do you know how I focused my righteous thoughts today? I did not put my mind on eliminating the evil that interfered with our work as before. Instead, I concentrated on eliminating every evil element that interfered with Fa-rectification."
In another incident: The leader of a group of persecutors was about to take a Falun Dafa practitioner to a brainwashing class. Seeing a demon standing beside the leader, the practitioner said to the demon, "You dare to persecute Dafa?" The group's leader replied, "No." He then left and did not return again.
Fellow practitioners, please break through the boundaries of personal cultivation.
Post Script -
The process of writing this article is also a process of Fa validation, which is also a process through which I upgrade myself. While writing this short article, I have been focusing on the experiences of various practitioners, putting their stories as the top priority. While sending forth righteous thoughts at 6:00 p.m., a thought flashed across my mind: I was putting practitioners' thoughts before the Fa! Quickly, I swapped the paragraphs around, putting Teacher's words first. It may seem minor but the consequence is big. Otherwise, we would be learning from man, not from the Fa. This may be a reason why the Fa has been getting less and less conspicuous in my mind recently, something that has also shown in my behavior.
This happened before I obtained Dafa. It was a hot summer. I was watching television with the window open so that I could get some air. Just when the commercial came on, I looked up. A man broke into my house. He stood before me waving a large hunting knife at me and told me that if I screamed, he would kill me. He used my telephone cord to tie me up with my hands behind my back. Then he violated me.
From conversation, I learned that the man's name was Michael and that he had killed someone before. Right after Michael left, I went to a neighbor's house to call the police and a friend of mine, because I did not want to be there if he returned. I immediately sold my house and never went back there alone.
Since I was a crime victim, the state paid for my therapy. The therapist told me I had Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). I was constantly afraid someone would attack me. I never knew what might be around the corner, so I was always afraid when I came to one. I drank alcohol to fall asleep at night and had difficulty concentrating at work.
With therapy, I gradually improved over time, but in 1999 I still suffered greatly. It was then that I read in the paper that Falun Gong was banned in China, so I was curious about it. I saw an ad for a 9-Day Falun Gong Seminar, which was to start on a Saturday night. A friend of mine invited me to the best theater in town that night, but I told him that I couldn't go. Although I knew nothing about it, I felt that I absolutely had to go check out Falun Gong because I didn't know when I would get another chance.
In November of 1999, after attending the 9-Day Seminar ended, I started practicing. Within a short time I stopped going to therapy. Alcohol was very hard to give up, but in a few months I also stopped drinking. One time after that, I thought I was going to have trouble falling asleep, so I drank a few sips of alcohol. I felt so nauseated afterwards that I threw up. Since then, I have never had a drink.
Of course my life changed dramatically. I became much more efficient at work, my income went up, I became calm and serene and I rarely thought about the rape. As I practiced more and more, I started reading the Fa regularly. For several years I have been reading the Fa every day. Over time, my understanding has continued to deepen. Although I am 63 years old, I look pretty young and have lots of energy. I sleep two to three hours less than I used to. With my newfound energy, I have found that I can spend many hours every day doing work related to the Fa-rectification.
In all this time, I have only been "sick" once. I bragged about not needing vitamins any more. I looked at all my vitamins and said, "What do I need those for? I'll never get sick!" Within 2 hours of bragging, I had a cold.
Michael was arrested and I had to testify at his trial. The police told me he was homeless and lived in a field behind a shopping center. Ours is a "three-strikes" state [this means that people who are convicted of three felonies are sentenced to life in prison]. Since this was his 5th felony conviction, he was sent to prison for 117 years. I often wonder why he chose me, what our relationship in previous lifetimes must have been and how much De this poor man gave me. He is in jail half a state away, but I still send him my compassion whenever I think about him. Whatever our relationship in our previous lives, I believe this cycle has come to an end.
By the way, although I think it goes without saying, I no longer have PTSD.

In the past, I had mistakenly thought that since my son was a child, if I told him about Falun Dafa, he might talk without thinking and cause troubles. But last November I changed my view. One day my son was ill and could not fall asleep. I rushed to get up and gave him some medicine, but it had no effect. At that time, I suddenly remembered one sentence of Master Li's in Zhuan Falun,
"You can try reading this book to a sick person, and if he can accept its contents, it can heal him, but how effective it is depends on how much karma he has."
I took out Zhuan Falun right away and said to my son, "Let Mom read a Dafa book to you. You should listen to it and Master Li will take care of you!" My son nodded and I read Lunyu to him. Slowly, my son's throat stopped feeling swollen and gradually he fell asleep until the next morning.
The same thing happened the second night, and again I read Lunyu to my son, which was very effective. Afterwards, I realized that I could not treat my son as an everyday person any longer, and that I should help him study the Fa, because Master Li was now taking care of him. I now often read Lunyu and the poems in Hong Yin with my son, and he has been very attentive. He can even recite some sentences and poems and I really feel happy for him.
Little by little I have told him the Falun Dafa truths. Sometimes he did not understand, and he asked me why, so I answered his questions one by one. He especially likes to watch Dafa truth-clarifying VCDs, and sometimes he even faces the screen and learns from the narrator how to clarify the truth. I feel happy for him and encourage him to behave following the standards of Zhen-Shan-Ren (Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance). I also tell him that people have come to the human world not to be human but to return to our original true selves, which he understood. I often play Master Li's Fa-lecture videos for my son, and he listens carefully and sometimes asks me questions. Sometimes my son even discusses with me about what Master Li said in the Fa lecture. Sometimes when I make mistakes, my son points them out to me, which really surprises me as I didn't expect him to remember Master Li's Dafa so closely. At these times, I have felt very ashamed and have had to look within myself to try to calmly clarify the truth to him. I also apologize to him and say, "Mother will improve in the future" and "Thank you for reminding me." Then he sensibly nods his head and also speaks about his own shortcomings. I feel really lucky to have this young fellow practitioner with me.
One day an everyday person asked my son, "What do you want to become when you grow up? A scientist?" He said, "No, I don't want to be a scientist. I want to become a Buddha." We didn't expect him to answer this way. Sometimes he likes to play all the time and from time to time he makes some mistakes, but he has been longing to become a Buddha. Afterwards I told him, "If you want to become a Buddha, you have to cultivate yourself, improve your mind-nature and remove human attachments and desires. You also need to endure hardships and have forbearance, and you can't be too fragile." Sometimes he falls down and looks like he is in pain, but I ask him, "Are you a young Dafa disciple? Can you not endure such small hardships? Let it be and you will be able to get through it if you can endure it." Then he seems to change into another person and doesn't attach too much attention to it anymore.
Now my son is very smart and his teacher often praises him. He enjoys studying and doesn't need us to urge him to study. Sometimes he is quite creative in drawing pictures. He often asks me to teach him Master Li's poems and read Master Li's Fa lectures to him. Sometimes as soon as he wakes up, he sends forth righteous thoughts or practices the fifth exercise. Though he cannot sit for long, he never forgets he is a young Dafa disciple. He often says to me, "Mom, let's tell other people that Falun Dafa is good and Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good, so that they all can be saved." I am often deeply moved by his words and sometimes feel deeply shocked by his pure and compassionate heart. My dear son, in order to save more sentient beings, your mother will work more diligently!
(Clearwisdom.net) Both my wife and I practice Falun Dafa. However, when we have disputes, the arguments suddenly become very intense. We have a lot of arguments, and thus I have come to understand some principles in that aspect. I want to talk about it and hope that it will be of some help for everyone.
A Family Member is First a Fellow Disciple, Then a Family Member
I never saw my wife as being good enough. She did not do the three things Master asked us to do well. When she studied the Fa, she slept, when she sent forth righteous thoughts, she slept, and when she clarified to the truth, she was afraid. Because she was my wife, my attitude was not generally like what it would be toward fellow practitioners. Very often, my mood would manifest, negatively influencing the results of the help I gave. Afterwards I enlightened to the fact that she was first a practitioner, then a family member. When she was not diligent, I treated her like a common fellow disciple and used compassionate reminders. Family members should have more of these chances to do so, and strive forward together. However, I should not use sentiment and unreasonableness to force my own standard to evaluate her.
After continuous trial and error, we have overcome countless methods of interference. Now, she has begun to attend Fa study groups, and by doing so her studying the Fa every day has been guaranteed.
2. Eliminating the Influences of the Communist Party Culture
My wife had an irritable temperament. If something happened, she might remain upset for three days. In order to feel better, she must let out the pressure held up in her heart.
In my heart I was extremely tormented by this. I wondered how her temperament could be controlled. I tried many different methods. Sometimes when she became upset, I intentionally opposed her. I then tried being even fiercer than she was, just to see if that would control her or not. It seemed that she was no longer so fierce, however my demonic nature was fully exposed. I know I cannot use evil to govern evil.
One day I suddenly thought of Master's Fa,
"And it goes even further: whenever a problem needs to be addressed, the first thought is about how to crush others, and the means include rule by force, attacks, launching political campaigns, suppression, denunciations, and the like." ("We Are Not 'Getting Political'" )
When we had problems, wasn't my first thought to control her, and make her listen to me? For her part, she was the same. At first she said that she wasn't like that before, but then she realized that if she didn't get angry, she couldn't control the other person. She got used to that form of behavior. Living in the evil Party's culture, we've been poisoned so deeply.
Master said in "Clearheadedness," from Essentials for Further Advancement,
"While working, your tone of voice, your kindheartedness, and your reasoning can change a person's heart, whereas commands never could!"
Only the Fa can make people change, not the evil spirits' methods of control.
I have become enlightened to this. We have since become harmonious with each other.

(Clearwisdom.net) A worker in Jinzhou City has seen the goodness of Falun Dafa in the Dafa practitioners she has met. She knows the CCP's wicked acts, strongly supports Dafa and has a righteous mind. In early 2000, when her daughter was still in middle school, the school organized a public event for the purpose of slandering Dafa, and ordered the students to participate by writing essays criticizing Falun Gong. The mother told the daughter, "We cannot write that. If the school asks why you don't have it, tell them that your mother did not allow you to write it. They can talk to me if they have a problem with it. We have not read Zhuan Falun and we do not know much about Falun Gong. We cannot just listen to one side of the story." As it turned out, every student except for this lady's daughter turned in the criticizing paper. Later, no one brought up the issue again.
For years, when the mother found Dafa flyers, she would read them in public. Sometimes she even read them out loud when people were around. She also brings the Dafa material to work and shares them with her co-workers. She is constantly telling the truth of Falun Gong. Under her righteous influence, the company staff affirmed in public that Falun Dafa is great. They also exchange Dafa materials in public. Dafa materials are everywhere in her company. After the staff reads the material, they may fold them up and insert them into a package heading for another location.
Not long ago, the mother brought a copy of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party to her general manager. The general manager had a lingering fear of the CCP and said, "It's alright if you read it. However, I cannot." She shared her experience with Dafa practitioners. The practitioners encouraged her, "don't worry, you will find an opportunity to introduce the Nine Commentaries to your manager." She agreed by nodding her head.
This middle-aged woman who does not practice Falun Gong was also instrumental in taking the initiative to help homeless practitioners to solve problems with their living arrangements. She also asked to help in distributing Dafa flyers. Now she is reading the book Zhuan Falun.
(Clearwisdom.net) My family was previously very unfortunate. My son suffered a mental collapse from failing the college entrance examination. My daughter was unemployed and stayed at home for many years. My husband had heart arrhythmia and was frequently hospitalized, and I had hypertension, gastric disease and many other illnesses. I also had to go to the hospital frequently.
Since I was fortunate to acquire Dafa in 1996, I have changed greatly and am now energetic every day. My complexion is very healthy. My acquaintances all praised the fact that I now look much younger than before, and that I am more energetic. My husband also only needs to take very little medicine after I started practicing Falun Gong. My neighbors all admired the fact that I took very good care of my husband. My son's mind has also become much clearer under the effect of Dafa's energy field. Right now he has nearly recovered and has started to study the Fa and do the exercises with me. My daughter also went to graduate school, and after she graduated this year, she found a job. I often hear my colleagues exclaim, "Your family is really happy."
Master said in "Righteous Thoughts,"
"So, in order to do Fa-rectification more effectively, while you clarify the facts you have to take sending righteous thoughts very seriously, and in a timely manner purge the evil and your own problems so that you won't be taken advantage of by the evil."
I personally experienced what Master told us. In 2004, my niece got married. Because of all the activities related to the wedding, I did not send righteous thoughts for one week. I truly felt that my body was surrounded by black substances. I also started to get a high fever. I realized it was because I had become less strict with myself. I then started sending righteous thoughts intensively every day to eliminate the evil's interference with me and my existing problem. After three days I was back to normal. The environment was also cleaned. I truly realized the power and importance of sending righteous thoughts.
Each time I sent righteous thoughts, I added the thought of eliminating the evil in other dimensions that interfered with my son, to eradicate the rotten demons that controlled him. I also studied the Fa, did the exercises and sent righteous thoughts with him. Gradually he got better. Right now he has nearly recovered.
My whole family's great change fully validated the fact that when one person practices Falun Dafa, the whole family benefits. This has reflected Dafa's boundless power. I am not only very grateful to Master, but I have also rationally improved my enlightenment quality. I will truly ensure that my every thought is based on the Fa, and do the three things better.

9. [Shaoguan City, Guandong Province] Zheng Zhengrong Was Arrested
Zheng Zhengrong, a Dafa practitioner from Shaoguan City, Guandong Province, was deceived by the Nanjiao Police Substation and the police of the 610 Office to leave his home and was then arrested and taken to the Huang'gang Brainwashing Class. He is still being persecuted to this day.
10. [Longkou City, Shandong Province] Practitioners Including Ms. Wang Hehua Were Arrested
On August 20, 2005, Ms. Zou Shimei, Ms. Wang Hehua and Wang Xueqing (a resident from Weijiang Village, Xinjia Town of Longkou City) were giving out the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party to people in Dong Village of Xiangcheng, when they were arrested by the police. Wang Xueqing escaped. Currently Ms. Wang Hehua is jailed at the Zhangjiagou Detention Center. Zou Shimei was released.
11. [Quzhou County, Hebei Province] The Quzhou County Public Security Bureau Deceives and Arrests Practitioners
Zhang Guojian from the Hexian National Security Team of Henan Ding Town of Quzhou County, Hebei Province, led over ten others in two police vehicles and went to the home of Dafa practitioner Ms. Xi Yue (who is in her 40s) from Shizhuang Village in the afternoon of August 7, 2005. They convinced Ms. Xi to open her door and then forcibly arrested her.
On September 6, 2005, police from the Quzhou County Public Security Bureau and the Henan Ding Town Police Sub-station of Quzhou County, Hebei Province arrested practitioners Mr. Zhao Xin and Ji Qiang and sent them directly to the Handan Brainwashing Class to be tortured there.
12. [Yingcheng City, Hubei Province] Mr. Wang Junping, An Excellent Teacher, Was Arrested
On the morning of September 5, 2005, Dafa practitioner Mr. Wang Junping, an excellent elementary school teacher from Dongmafang Xiada of Yingcheng City, Hubei Province, was arrested and taken to the Hubei Province Law Education Center (Wuhan Tang Sunhu Brainwashing Class). Mr. Wang is now being persecuted there.

1. Mr. Zhou Tianqi is Persecuted Repeatedly Simply for His Belief
Xiangtan City, Hunan Province, resident Mr. Zhou Tianqi has benefited a great deal from Falun Gong since he learned the practice - sciatica, bone spurs, lumbar pain, and other diseases he had all disappeared. However, because he is steadfast in his belief in "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance," he has suffered all kinds of persecution, including torture, unlawful detention, confiscation of family property, extortion and unlawful imprisonment in a forced labor camp for more than a year. Since February 15, 2000, Mr. Zhou has been detained and persecuted in the Xiangtan Liaison Office in Beijing, the Xiangtan County Detention Center, and the Hunan Province Xinkaipu Forced Labor Camp.

2. Prisoners Are Forced to Make Gambling Cards at the Changchun City Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp
The Changchun City Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp administration has organized the production of gambling cards, which are prohibited by law. The chemicals the workers are forced to use are so strong that it makes them vomit and faint. Among the prisoners who are forced to work, more than half are Falun Gong practitioners. To gain huge profits, guards force each prisoner to make 30 sets per day.

3. Facts of the Persecution in the Yanjiang District of Ziyang City, Sichuan
On May 11, 2003, two 60-year-old practitioners, Ms. Zhao Surong and Ms. Ren Yuehui, were unlawfully sentenced to four years in prison by the Yanjiang District Court of Ziyang City. They were sent to the Chuanxi Women's Prison, where they were tortured, subjected to brainwashing and forced to work excessive hours.
On November 4, 2004, practitioner Mr. Wen Boduan, a teacher at the Huachitang Elementary School in Xinchang Township, Danshang Town, Ziyang City, was persecuted by He Faming, a Danshan Township Education Department official. This happened only because Mr. Wen taught his students about "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance." In April 2005, Mr. Wen was unlawfully sentenced to three years in prison by the Yanjiang District Court in Ziyang City.
In November 2004, practitioner Ms. Liu Cuiyu, a worker at the 431 Factory in Ziyang City, was persecuted by the Songtao Police Station in the Yanjiang District. Police secretly sent her to the Nanmusi Women's Forced Labor Camp ahead of schedule, without notifying her family.
On June 5, 2005, the police abducted practitioner Ms. Fu Lijun, who also worked at the 431 Factory in Ziyang City. After being held at the detention center of Yanjiang District for a month, Ms. Fu was secretly sent to the Nanmusi Women's Forced Labor Camp.
