  My name is Xingxing and I am 15 years old. In April 1999 when I was nine I began to practice Falun Gong, following my parents' example. I was sick from birth, and suffered from a rare allergy. I couldn't take any medicine. If I used any medicine, my whole body would swell up, followed by bodily disfigurement. Once after I had applied some facial cream, my face and head suddenly began to swell, and I had to be hospitalized for treatment. My parents always worried about me because of my poor health.

After I became a practitioner I realized that Falun Gong not only has amazing health benefits but also improves people's moral quality. Every morning I would follow my parents to a practice site to do the exercises, and I always conducted myself according to the principles of "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" that Master has taught us. After I started practicing Falun Gong, I have not visited the hospital even once. I was so happy that Falun Gong had cleansed all my pain. At last I could have a normal life, like other children. I thanked Master Li from the bottom of my heart for saving me.

My trouble-free time, however, did not last very long. In July 1999, a jealous Jiang Zemin started a massive persecution campaign against Falun Gong. On the morning of July 20, I noticed that several police cars were parked near our practice site. Many armed policemen waved their batons to tell people not to practice Falun Gong. Anyone not obeying would get arrested and put into a police vehicle. This puzzled me. We practice Falun Gong to become better persons and we bother no one. Why do they use violence on senior citizens and children alike? I thought that since this wonderful practice is banned, I would be forced to endure my old illnesses and hospitalization again. I felt very upset.

To protect Teacher's portrait from police raids, on the afternoon of July 20, with tears in our eyes, Mom and I moved Teacher's portrait from the living room to a closet. Since that day, we lost our practice site. Every time I practiced the exercises, I had to open the closet door, push aside the clothes on the hangers and meditate in front of Teacher's portrait.

The next day, July 21, a hoard of people came to my house. They loudly threatened my parents to give up Falun Gong. When they heard "no" from my parents, they went berserk. Heavily pounding the table, they shouted profanities and forced us to surrender our Falun Gong books. That day alone, four separate groups came to my house. Authorities from Mom's workplace, people from the street management, personnel from the neighborhood committee, and the police.

From that day on, those people often came to harass us at home. They sat in my home for a long time and refused to leave. I lived in daily fear. The community officials and the police often summoned my parents to the police station for interrogation. They were kept there the whole night each time. Home alone, I felt so scared that I cried under the blanket. At the same time, I also faced pressure from my school and discrimination from my classmates. My teacher once forced me to write a composition denouncing Falun Gong. I was told to hand it in the next day. I didn't want to slander Falun Gong and Master Li. I wanted to live by the principles of "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" and become a better person. The next morning half of my face became swollen, but I did not feel any pain. Mom and I knew that Master Li was helping me to avoid having to go to school. Before noon my face became normal again.

In January 2000 Mom and I visited Hong Kong. We had the opportunity to promote Falun Gong, together with Hong Kong practitioners. The practitioners there could openly practice Falun Gong in Kowloon Park. We enjoyed freedom for one month. It was truly invaluable. Hong Kong practitioners prepared many truth-clarifying materials for us. Later we brought them back to China.

On October 1, 2000 Mom and I, together with several fellow practitioners went to Beijing to clarify the truth and appeal for a safe environment for Falun Gong. After the trip, the police frequently harassed and monitored my family. Sometimes the police would come without warning. They sat at our dinner table, grabbed any food they could find and ate without shame. They also constantly demanded money.

On November 24, 2000 the police arrested Mom when she was clarifying the facts of Falun Gong to people. That day I was reading my books and was not with Mom. At 2:00 a.m., a group of people suddenly broke into my bedroom and searched all over the place. They made a big mess by turning everything over. I was supposed to attend school the next morning, but did not get any sleep that night. They confiscated many items from our home, especially Master Li's portrait that I treasured so dearly for a long time. They also took my Falun Gong books and tapes. That day I truly understood the meaning of the word "bandit," and experienced the terrifying feeling of being a robbery victim. Such robbery occurred several times. I can recall at least four such incidents. Every time they would come at around 2:00 a.m.

From that day on I could no longer call out "Mom" when I returned from school. Mom was not home any longer. Dad was also repeatedly called to the police station for questioning. Sometimes Dad would not be allowed home after dark. I felt very hungry and missed my mom terribly. I cried until I fell asleep, with an empty stomach.

On December 23, 2000, with my mom's strong resistance and my dad's repeated demands, the police released my mom. After the perpetrators had persecuted her for one month she had became so skinny that I did not even recognize her. I felt terrible. But Mom was home now. I finally could eat dinner after school. I was with Mom and Dad again.

One day in September 2001, a phone call sent Mom into hiding away from our home again. The next time I saw her was two years and four months later.

On January 5, 2002 I was shocked to hear that Mom was arrested again in the countryside. I worried a lot about her safety. Not long before, as part of an evil police plot, some bad person ran her down with a motorcycle. She suffered from a broken left hand, the left side of her face was badly bruised and her left leg was also injured. Despite my Mom's severe injuries, the wicked police still sent her to a detention center and later sentenced her to two years in a forced labor camp.

After my Mom was sent to the forced labor camp my life was awful. Many classmates asked me, "Where is your Mom?" I could not answer and had to fight to keep from crying. During New Year's time all my classmates went out with their moms to buy new clothes. I was the only one without my mom by my side. Dad works hard to make ends meet. Every day he came home very late, and most of the time I was alone. When Dad was not home I would go out to buy a bun for dinner. All these tragedies were imposed on my family and me by Jiang Zemin and the evil Communist Party.

I have lived with nightmares for the last six years. Even today I still have lingering fears. To avoid the evil harassment and constant surveillance, we had to move constantly from place to place. Last month Dad got phone calls from agents of the National Security Ministry. Some agents even came to our home to make threats. I was extremely worried about my dad's safety.

Recently, Mom, Dad and I arrived in Japan. In this free society I truly treasure my opportunity to study the Falun Gong books and do the exercises in public. I am determined to be more diligent in my practice. Every day I will put my best effort to do the three things. I will use all means to clarify the truth and offer people salvation.

My name is Wang Dandan, and I am a resident of Heidao Town, Zhuanghe City, Dalian, Liaoning Province. I have always had a weak constitution. After I got married, I suffered serious health problems. Whenever I opened my eyes, I had acute pain, and my eyes watered continuously. Rheumatism was one of my most severe health problems. Even during the hottest summer days I wore layers of clothing and tightly covered myself with cotton-padded quilts. I also suffered convulsions and could not move. I could not fall sleep at night and often stayed awake for the entire night.

In spring 1996, I found a tumor on the left side of my neck and had it surgically removed. Shortly after the surgery, a tumor appeared on the right side of my neck. I came across the book Zhuan Falun when I felt that my life was worse then being dead. While I read the book, my eyes did not hurt and tears did no longer flowed down my face. It took me about two weeks to read the entire book. From then on, I could not put the book down. I slowly came to understand the true meaning of life and began living strictly by the principles "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance." Because of Teacher's compassion, I no longer needed injections or pills. I finally was free of my illnesses. It was a miracle. I was given a new life!

Our family then lived happy lives until July 20, 1999, when officials from the Yuhuangshan Police Station in Heidao Town started to come to our home almost daily to harass us. They wanted us to write the guarantee statement.

On July 20, 2000, Chief Guo Yuanzheng and policeman Wang Jirui from the Yuhuangshan Police Station deceived me and two other practitioners. We were taken to the Zhuanghe City Detention Center. On the morning of the fourth day, I heard someone shouting, "A Falun Gong practitioner was beaten to death" as I was practicing the exercises. The practitioner who was tortured to death was 59-year-old Shao Shisheng. After that, all practitioners detained in the detention center went on a hunger strike, which scared those in charge. Three days later, the police sent 18 practitioners to Masanjia Forced Labor Camp without going through proper channels. They completed the documentation requirements after the transfer, which is unlawful.

I was released in September 2000. I continued to study the Falun Gong books, practice the exercises, and promote Falun Gong. The security staff of Yuhuangshan Village, the party secretary of the village chief Guo Yuanzheng, and policeman Wang Jirui from the Yuhuangshan Police Station often came to my home to harass me. They also pressured my husband to monitor me continuously.

In October 2000, as I was traveling to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong, the authorities stopped me. In November 2000, I traveled to Beijing again. I walked to a bus station and arrived at Tiananmen Square at around 4:00 a.m. the next day. It was time for the national flag to be raised. I shouted, "Falun Dafa is good! Restore my Teacher's virtuous reputation!" I was able to shout the words twice before police forced me into a police car and took me to Zhanqian Police Station. There they put me into a large metal cage with eight other detained practitioners. We hung banners in the cage.

In the evening, we were transferred to another police department within Beijing. Because I refused to give them my name, over ten policemen surrounded me and tortured me. They slapped my face and kicked me. As a result, my eyes sustained serious injury. I could not see anything and there was a ringing in my ears. I realized that Teacher was helping me. The next day the guards handcuffed me and attached a rope to the handcuffs. They hung me up with this rope. They tried all the methods of torture they could think off, but I still did not cooperate. In desperation they took me to Beijing's Pinggu Detention Center.

At Pinggu, two practitioners and I were detained in one cell. There were also some non-practitioner inmates. The inmates were vicious, and the police incited them to beat us. They hit our faces, hit us with shoes, and kicked us. After a 17-year-old girl kicked me in the throat, I felt my throat constrict, and I could no longer eat or drink. Fearing that they might be held responsible, the guards put me in a car and drove me away from the detention center. After a while they just dumped me out of the car. I started to walk towards my home. As I walked, I found a piece of chalk and wrote "Falun Dafa is good" on electric poles and small bridges. I walked during the day and ran during the night. At crossroads, when I was not sure which route to take, I asked Teacher for help. Then words like "go straight forward" appeared in my mind. It was winter time and there was snow on the ground. I was wearing only two layers of clothing, and I was cold, hungry, exhausted, and sleepy. The soles of my feet were covered with broken blisters, and every step I took hurt terribly. When I was at the end of my endurance, I met two kind-hearted drivers who gave me a ride for many miles. I felt that our compassionate Teacher was nearby and looking after me at all times.

On the night of April 23, 2002, I was arrested by the Heidao Town Border Patrol Station while distributing truth-clarifying fliers. They sent me to the Zhuanghe Detention Center. After I went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution, a doctor in the detention center named Lin Jiquan ordered four or five inmates to help him to force-feed me. They first put handcuffs and shackles on me. Then they used a pair of pliers to hold my teeth and a screwdriver to pry my teeth open. All my teeth came loose. After the force-feeding, I vomited a lot of blood. All practitioners in the cell said out loud, "Falun Dafa is good," while I was being tortured with the force-feeding, which strongly shocked the evil people. After five days, 30 practitioners and I were sent to the notorious Masanjia Forced Labor Camp.

When I first arrived at the Masanjia forced labor camp, the guards pretended insincerely that they cared about me and wanted to help me. They asked some collaborators to "reform" me. I recited the Falun Gong books, trying to keep a clear mind at all times and solidify my righteous belief in Falun Gong. A few days later, the guards showed their true faces. They beat me frequently. This situation lasted for a month. Later I realized that I should not cooperate with them, so I refused to leave the cell. They tried in vain and finally gave up.

In the cell, whenever they slandered Falun Gong, I stood up and clarified the truth. Then the collaborators beat me. When I practiced the exercises, policewomen Zhang Xiurong, Dai Yuhong, and Yang Xiaofeng instigated collaborators to beat me. They also tied me with my legs crossed and left me on the cold floor (it was wintertime) for two or three hours at a time.

Under direction of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and head of the 610 Office, Liu Jing, the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp guards and staff escalated the persecution of practitioners. Director of the labor camp Su Jing, deputy director Zhao Laixi, and political commissar Wang Naimin all beat practitioners. The CCP once awarded Su Jing 50,000 yuan for torturing practitioners.

In late November 2002, the Masanjia officials began to brainwash practitioners. In the beginning, they forced practitioners to get up at 4:00 a.m. and made them stay awake until noontime. After one week, they forced the practitioners to stay awake around the clock. They also forced us to squat down for eleven days. When we got sleepy, they beat us. As a result of the torture, my entire body was swollen. I could no longer wear my shoes. Seeing that I remained firm in my belief, the perpetrators tied me up with my legs crossed, wrote some words slandering Teacher on some stickers, and pasted them on my body. They also tore Teacher's picture from a Falun Gong book and put it under my buttocks. Then they beat me the entire night. The following day, they brought in Wang Meixue, a collaborator from Heidao. They hung me in the air, with my head down, for an hour and 40 minutes and tied my wrists to a heating pipe. The heat burned my wrists. They handcuffed me to a bed so that I could not stand up or squat down, and I had to stay on my knees for seven days and nights. My knees and wrists were broken, and my wrists were burned. Running out of ideas to torture me, they finally gave up.

After I returned to the cell, I used every opportunity to clarify the truth for Falun Gong and negate the evil persecution. On March 31, 2005, Su Jing, Wang Naimin, and Zhao Laixi moved all practitioners to the first floor and locked us in the same room. To protest the persecution, we shouted, "Falun Dafa is good," "Falun Dafa is a righteous way," and "Return the virtuous reputation of our Teacher." Guards Zhang Lei, Liu Hui, and Li Wei illegally extended my term. During my extended detainment, I clarified the truth to every guard and protested with a hunger strike. By that time I was very weak. The guards took me to Masanjia Hospital, where they force fed me and injected drugs intravenously. Wherever I went I said, "Falun Dafa is good!" Group head Xie (a very wicked person in charge of steadfast practitioners) ordered three guards to put me into a small cell. In the small cell (less than 18 square feet) was only a plastic basin for use as a toilet. It was July, and the weather was very hot and humid. I fell onto the grass mat on the floor and lost consciousness. When I woke up around dusk, I noticed blood everywhere on the walls -- it's hard to know how many practitioners had been persecuted there. They tortured me in the small cell for five days. I became emaciated and was only skin and bones when they took me from the cell. Afraid of being held responsible for my death, the guards called the local police station in my hometown and had them pick me up and take me home.

Above is just a brief description of the persecution I experienced. This is a only a tiny fraction of the crimes perpetrated by Jiang's regime. There were practitioners who were tortured much worse than I have described above. By disclosing the crimes of the wicked guards, I hope I can move people's benevolent minds and consciences so that they will choose a good future at this historic moment.

Practitioner Mr. Pang Shixing lived in Taihe Village of Xinxing District in Qitaihe City, Heilongjiang Province. After he started to practice Falun Gong, he did good deeds by following the principles of "Truthfulness-Benevolence-Forbearance," and was widely respected. On July 20, 1999, Jiang Zemin started the persecution of Falun Gong because he was jealous of Falun Gong's popularity. Mr. Pang went to the government of Heilongjiang Province and the Beijing Appeals Bureau to clarify the truth about Falun Gong. In November 1999, he was detained illegally for five months by the Hongqi Police Station in Qitaihe City (Qitaihe City No. 2 Detention Center) because he appealed to the higher authorities in Beijing. He was released when he protested through a hunger strike. In the year 2002, police officers from the Hongqi Police Station harassed him at his home many times.

In the spring of 2003, policemen from the Hongqi Police Station forcibly dragged his aged father to their office. There, they interrogated the old man for an entire day in order to find out the whereabouts of Mr. Pang so that they could capture him. After that incident, the old man fell ill and never recovered. Mr. Pang's father died a month later. Before he died, he wanted to see his son one last time, but could not because his home was under surveillance by the police. On November 8, police from the Hongqi Police Station including Wang Dawei captured Mr. Pang and sent him to the No. 2 Detention Center. Later, he was sent to the Mudanjiang Prison for further persecution. His family members who went to visit him were not allowed to see him. As of now, we do not know how badly he has been abused.

Practitioner Mr. Pang Shixing

Practitioner Ms. Wei Limei, born on November 16, 1972, lived on Beishan Street of Xinxing District. After July 20, 1999, she clarified the truth about Falun Gong to the government. Since then, together with other practitioners from Qitaihe City, she has resisted the persecution. In February 2003, she was arrested and persecuted by the Qitaihe City Police Department. She was sentenced to six years of imprisonment. She is currently being detained in the Heilongjiang Women's Jail. Because her husband was also persecuted and sentenced to imprisonment, their 7-year-old son is alone at home, without anyone to take care of him.

Practitioner Ms. Wei Limei

Practitioner Ms. Lu Xiufen, born on December 29, 1972, lived near the Xinxingkuang Middle School of Xinxing District in Qitaihe City. On November 5, 1999 and July 4, 2000, she was arrested by the Xinxing District Police Department for practicing Falun Gong and was detained for fifteen days. She was arrested again on February 15, 2003. She was then sent to the Second Detention Center for further persecution. On April 8, 2003, she was transferred to the First Detention Center. In August 2003, she was sentenced to six years in prison. Currently she is being detained in the Women's Jail of Heilongjiang Province.

Practitioner Ms. Lu Xiufen

Practitioner Ms. Zhang Guiqin, 58, lived in the Sanxing Village, Qiangken Township of Boli County in Qitaihe City. After July 20, 1999, she clarified the truth about Falun Gong to the government. She was illegally arrested, but was released after being fined 300 yuan. After that she resisted the persecution together with other practitioners. She was arrested again on September 6, 2004. Currently, she is being detained at the women's team of Qiqihar City Drug Reformatory and has been sentenced to two years of forced labor.

Practitioner Ms. Zhang Guiqin

Practitioner Mr. Liu Guichen, 60, lived in Sanxing Village, Qiangken Township of Boli County in Qitaihe City. After July 20, 1999, he clarified the truth about Falun Gong to the authorities. He was arrested and released after paying a 300 yuan fine. After that, he resisted the persecution of Falun Gong together with other practitioners. He was arrested on September 6, 2004. In November of the same year, he was detained in the Shuihua Detention Center for persecution. Policeman Shi Jian punched and kicked him, and tortured him in order to force him to give up his belief in "Truthfulness-Benevolence-Forbearance." Liu Guichen was beaten so badly that for a long time he felt pain in his chest when breathing, and he was not able to walk steadily.

Practitioner Ms. Li Xiuxue, born on July 26, 1939, lived in the Xinxing District. After practicing Falun Gong, she became healthy both mentally and physically. She was arrested and sent to the Second Detention Center in August of 2000 by police officers from the Beishan Police Station in Qitaihe. In February 2003, she was arrested again by police from the Xinxing District Police Department and sentenced to a two-year term of imprisonment. She is currently being persecuted in the Women's Jail of Heilongjiang Province.

Practitioner Ms. Li Xiuxue

Practitioner Mr. Yu Qinghai, born on February 9, 1960, lived on Xinli Street of Xinxing District in Qitaihe City. He attended Master Li's class in 1994 and started to practice Falun Gong at that time. He returned to Qitaihe City and brought the goodness and beauty of Falun Gong to that city. Because of his activities promoting Falun Gong, there were more and more people who started practice of Falun Gong in Qitaihe City. After July 20, 1999, he went to the governor's office of the province to clarify the truth about Falun Gong with about 100 other practitioners. As a result, on February 26, 2000, he was arrested by the Xinxing Police Department and detained for fifteen days. After that, he worked together with other practitioners in the local area to resist the persecution. He was compelled to leave his home because the center for truth clarifying materials preparation was discovered. He was arrested in Jiamusi by the Qitaihe Police Department in March 2003. Subsequently, he was sentenced to seven years in prison. Currently, he is detained in the Mudanjiang City Jail. His 15-year-old son is in middle school and currently has no one to take care of him, since his mother has passed away.

Practitioner Ms. Yin Guiling, 37, lived near the office of the Taoshan Mine of Qitaihe City, Heilongjiang. After July 20, 1999, she went to the government of Heilongjiang Province and to the Beijing Appeals Bureau to clarify the truth about Falun Gong. She was detained in the Qitaihe City No. 2 Detention Center for more than a month after her arrest. She was released after being fined 1,000 yuan. She was arrested again late at night, the same day she was released, and sent to the No. 2 Detention Center. They took about 300 yuan in cash when they ransacked her house. She was detained for fifteen days and released after being fined another 500 yuan.

In May 2003, she was arrested again at her home by the Qitaihe Police Department. She was detained for fourteen days and then released because she held a hunger strike during those fourteen days.

On August 22, 2004, she was arrested again. The chief of the legal section in the Taoshan Police Department in Qitaihe handcuffed her hands behind her back, and then jabbed needles into her back, palms and backs of her hands. Right now she is being illegally detained in the Harbin City Drug Reformatory for three years of forced labor. She has a 15-year-old son named Zhao Wei, who is a sophomore in junior high school. Her relatives and friends are now taking care of him.

Practitioner Ms. Gao Jiabo, born on April 26, 1963, lived on Taonan Street of Taoshan District in Qitaihe City. She was the health care doctor in the kindergarten of the Qitaihe City government. After July 20, 1999, she clarified the truth about Falun Gong to the city officials. After that, she insisted on resisting the persecution to Falun Gong together with other practitioners. In February 2003, she was arrested and persecuted by the Taoshan Police Department. She was sentenced to a six-year jail term. Currently, she has her aged grandfather, grandmother and her son at home and nobody to take care of them, as her husband has passed away.

Practitioner Mr. Huang Yuexiang, born on January 3, 1942, lived in Tongren Residential District in Taoshan District, Qitaihe City. After July 20, 1999, he went to the government of Heilongjiang Province and Beijing Appeals Bureau to clarify the truth about Falun Gong. He was arrested and detained in the Boli Prison of Qitaihe City for sixty-five days.

On February 17, 2000, he was tricked by the police with the excuse that the superintendent wanted to talk to him, and he was thus detained for three months.

On July 1, 2000, he went to Beijing to appeal to the higher authorities. He was arrested and sent back again by the police from Qitaihe Police Department. He was then sentenced illegally to forced labor for two years. When the time was up, he was not released. Instead, his imprisonment was extended by another six months.

On February 22, 2003, he was arrested by the Qitaihe Police Department for making truth clarification materials. He was sentenced to five years in prison. Currently, he is being persecuted in the prison of Mudanjiang City.

Practitioner Mr. Huang Yuexiang

Practitioner Ms. Li Hongxia, born on March 7, 1962, lived in the Xinxing District in Qitaihe City. After July 20, 1999, she went to the Beijing Appeals Bureau to clarify the truth. On September 12, she was persecuted by the police from the Thirteenth Department of Changping Police Department in Beijing. She was forced to stand daily, squat for long periods of time, and stand with her head bent down and both hands lifted up behind her back. She was tied up on a bed and with electric current passing through both her hands. She was not allowed to use the bathroom, and she was given unspecified drugs and injections. The drugs caused her to lose the use of her tongue and half of her body. After being released, she was arrested again by the Xinli Police Station in Qitaihe City and detained in the No. 2 Detention Center in January 2000. One month later, she was released after she wrote, against her conscience, the guarantee statement promising give up the practice of Falun Gong.

In January 2001, Ms. Li was arrested again by the Xinli Police Station and sent to the No. 2 Detention Center. She protested by holding a hunger strike. She was force-fed twice and released after nine days.

In March 2001, Ms. Li was arrested again by the Xinli Police Station when she was on the road. They sent her to the No. 2 Detention Center for three months, where she was persecuted and then released.

In April 2002, Ms. Li was arrested again in her home by the Xinli Police Station and sent to the administrative detention center. She was released after going on hunger strike for fourteen days.

At 4 o'clock in the early morning of March 2003, Ms. Li was arrested and sent to the Second Detention Center by the Xinli Police Station. She was tortured until she vomited blood, and then sent to the First Detention Center. However, the center refused to accept her since she had difficulty walking at that time and her health condition was precarious. The deputy police department chief Zhang Heping and the 610 Office section chief Bi sentenced her to four years of imprisonment in spite of the fact that she has three young children at home and nobody to take care of them.

It was Liu Yazhou, the police station deputy chief, who implemented the persecution against her. Because of his efforts, he was promoted to become the superintendent of the Xinhua Police station.

Practitioner Ms. Li Hongxia

Practitioner Ms. Wang Yuqin, born on May 30, 1973, lived on Dongfeng Street of Xinxing District of Qitaihe City. In the year 2000, she was detained for three years because she appealed to higher authorities in Beijing about Falun Gong.

In 2003, she was arrested by the Qitaihe Police Department and sent to the Second Detention Center. Later she was sentenced to a three-year prison term. Currently, she is being persecuted in the Women's Prison in Harbin City.

Practitioner Ms. Wang Yuqin

Practitioner Mr. Di Shihong, born on January 4, 1972, lived in Daihe Village of Xinxing District in Qitaihe City. Both he and his wife are Falun Gong practitioners. On November 17, 1999 and July 6, 2000, he was detained twice for fifteen days by the Xinxing Police Department in Qitaihe City because he appealed to the higher authorities in Beijing. While working on an oil plant, he was arrested by the Qitaihe Police Department. Even the owner of the oil plant was arrested and persecuted. Mr. Di was sentenced to four years in prison. Currently he is being detained in the Mudanjiang City Prison in Heilongjiang Province. His wife Yu Xiuying was arrested and suffered persecution at the same time. She is now detained in the Women's Prison of Heilongjiang. His mother is in her seventies, and is without any income to take care of herself and her grandchildren.

Mr. Li Fengquan, born on October 10, 1966, lived in the Zhongxinhe Village of Qiezhihe District of Qitaihe City. After July 20, 1999, he went to Beijing in order to appeal to higher authorities and to clarify the truth about Falun Gong. He was illegally arrested five times by the Qishiqiezihe Police Branch. He was detained twice, and they illegally extorted more than 10 thousand yuan from him. In March 2003, he was persecuted by the Xinxing Police Department Branch. Currently he is being detained in the Prison of Mudanjiang City in Heilongjiang, where he has suffered severe persecution. Mr. Li was seriously hurt, both physically and mentally. His wife Li Bo was arrested by the Qiezhihe Police Department and illegally sentenced to a three-year prison term. Right now she is detained in the Harbin Drug Reformatory. Because her sons, Li Fengquan and Li Fengjie, her daughters-in-law, Li Bo and Song Wei were arrested, beaten up, detained, sent to forced labor, and sentenced to imprisonment many times, Li Fengquan's mother (a former Falun Gong practitioner) could not withstand the mental suffering and passed away on January 4, 2005. Currently, Mr. Li Fengquan and Ms. Li Bo are still detained. They have two kids at home and nobody to take care of them.

Practitioner Mr. Ma Yunwu from Qingzhou, Shandong Province

Mr. Ma, a teacher from the First Middle School of Qingzhou, Shandong Province, and his wife, Mrs. Dong Xiuyun, were both over 70 years old. Because they practiced Falun Gong, they were arrested, detained and tortured by followers of Jiang's regime. Mr. Ma died in 2004 from persecution. Mrs. Dong is being illegally detained in a re-education through labor camp.

Mr. Ma was a senior teacher with many students. Both the students and other teachers greatly respected him.

Mr. Ma had many diseases when he got older. In 1995, Mr. Ma began to practice Falun Gong and consciously changed his behavior to comply with "Truth, Compassion, Forbearance." Soon, his and his wife's diseases vanished. Mr. Ma's bad temperament was given up and his family also became harmonious.

Mr. and Mrs. Ma adhered steadfastly to Master's teachings, promoted their minds towards goodness, and became people who always considered other people first. They introduced more predestined people to learn the practice. At the practice site, they voluntarily provided all kinds of services for everyone, warm-heartedly helped neighbors who had difficulties, and selflessly aided the impoverished students. Both of them were good people, winning universal praise.

On July 20, 1999, Jiang's regime ordered the secret arrest of Falun Gong assistants and instructors across the country. Mr. Ma, who was an instructor, was one of those arrested suddenly by the public security bureau. He was secretly imprisoned in a tiny, dirty cabin. In the extremely hot summer, the police let mosquitoes bite him, wouldn't let him sleep, and used all kinds of tactics to try to force him to give up "Truth, Compassion, Forbearance." Mr. Ma, at over 70 years of age, experienced almost four weeks of inhuman torture, but endured it with determination.

At that time, Hao Xuehui, the principal in the first middle school, and Zhang Mingfu, the party secretary, closely followed Jiang's regime's directives and constantly harassed this couple. They stopped paying Mr. Ma's salary and coerced Mr. Ma's only son, who worked elsewhere, to come back and participate in the effort to force Mr. Ma to give up his belief.

Hao Xuehui and Zhang Mingfu made a special iron cage in order to imprison Mr. Ma. From July 20, 1999, to 2000, before he was illegally re-educated through forced labor, Mr. Ma was imprisoned in this cage or in a dark room. Even though Mr. Ma suffered from all kinds of tortures, he still clarified the truth to the evildoers.

In 2000, when Mr. and Mrs. Ma went to Tiananmen Square to appeal for Falun Gong, they were arrested by the police and sent to their hometown, where they were imprisoned in Qingzhou Jail and the Qingzhou Detention Center, respectively. After one month, Mr. Ma was sent to Changle Forced Labor Camp.

In Changle Forced Labor Camp, the police guards incited the criminals to carry out all kinds of tortures on practitioners. Mr. Ma was forced to sit on the cement almost all day. If he slightly moved his legs, he was beaten and kicked. In the evening he was not allowed to sleep. In the cold of winter, he was forced into a big tub of cold water and made to stay there and freeze.

On one occasion, several people concentrated on the torture of Mr. Ma in order to "transform" him. They held him down on the ground and beat and kicked him. One clutched his neck and another stepped on his body and randomly kicked him until he was close to death. Later, Mr. Ma had a high fever and severe chest pain, his blood pressure increased suddenly to 260, and his heart developed serious problems. The labor camp staff then did not want to be held responsible for his death, so they released Mr. Ma released on bail for medical treatment.

After Mr. Ma went home, he did not recover. His chest was painful for a long time and his head was injured. His health went from bad to worse. Despite his condition, officials from the Qingzhou brainwashing class still went to his home to harass and threaten him many times. They illegally arrested his wife, Mrs. Dong Xiuyun, and took her to the brainwashing class.

Mrs. Dong Xiuyun, Mr. Ma's wife, was a retired match factory worker. She has remained a dedicated practitioner. Mrs. Dong was once imprisoned in a dark room in the school for many days because she did the Falun Gong exercises. Because she went to Beijing to appeal, she was imprisoned in the detention center. Then her salary was stopped. Even under all this pressure, Mrs. Dong relied on her belief in Master and Falun Gong to firmly remain on the road of practice.

This summer, Mrs. Dong was arrested again. Because she was doing the exercises in jail, she and several other practitioners were handcuffed and shackled. Last July Mrs. Dong was illegally sent to a forced labor camp.

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Wu Fengzhen, in her 30s, is employed by Nanchang City First Hospital. She is divorced and has a three-year-old daughter. In July 2005, Ms. Wu was followed by police when passing out truth clarifying materials. Her home was ransacked and she was arrested, but she managed to escape. When she returned to work, she was arrested by police officers from the Tengwangge Police Station, Donghu District in Nanchang City. Her sister is taking care of her young daughter.

2. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Zhang Weiguang and Ms. Shi Liwen Arrested

Practitioner Mr. Zhang Weiguang from the Babaileng District in Daqing City was arrested by police officers from the Babaileng Police Department on the morning of July 27, 2005. The next morning, the police arrested practitioner Ms. Shi Liwen from the same District when she went to visit a fellow practitioner. Her home was ransacked later that day.

She was arrested and sent to the Qihe County Detention Center. The police ransacked her home at around 10:00 p.m.

Practitioner Ms. Chen Fengzhen is an employee of Daqing Fifth Factory. On the afternoon of August 8, 2005, she was reported when clarifying the truth to people and was arrested. She was tortured until she lost consciousness in the Daqing City Detention Center. In spite of this, she was still sent to the Harbin Drug Rehabilitation Center Labor Camp. The camp refused to accept her due to her physical condition, and she was sent home on August 19, 2005.

On April 6, 2005, practitioner Ms. Peng Lihua from Hong'an City, Hubeo Province, went to Wuhan City to retrieve materials together with Fellow Chen (gender unknown). They were both arrested by the police, who were hiding there secretly, and are now locked in the 610 Office's brainwashing class held at Dongxi Lake, Wuhan City.

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Gao Huanlian, 46, lives in the family housing of Jinan University in Guangzhou City. On the morning of August 20, 2005, she was reported by security guards when passing out truth clarifying materials and was arrested. She is now detained in the Tianhe District Detention Center.

Ms. Zhao Yuqing is a retired employee of the Pioneer Company in Chengdu City, Sichuan Province. She was arrested on August 19, 2005, by policemen from the Fuqing Street Police Station in the Chenghua District of Chengdu City. They also ransacked her home.

At the beginning of July 2005, several practitioners were arrested one after the other. Their names are Mr. Li Ronglai, Mr. Wei Lang, Mr. Wang Fang, Ms. Liu Yuqiong, Ms. Lu Dongyun, and Ms. Su Yuqiong. We learned that Mr. Wei Lang, Ms. Lu Dongyun, Ms. Su Yuqiong and Ms. Liu Yuqiong are still being tortured in detention.

Ms. Zhou Zhijie is in her 30s and lives in Chifeng City, Inner-Mongolia Autonomous District. She has been harassed many times by policemen for firmly practicing Falun Gong. At the beginning of August 2005 she was arrested again by policemen and is now locked in the Songshan District Brainwashing Class.

On July 21, 2005, at around 7:00 p.m., practitioner Mr. Zhao Zhiqin from Gangli Village, Xishanbei Township, Yi County, Baoding City, was arrested by police from the Airport Station without any reason being given. He is now detained in Yi County Detention Center.

On August 2, 2005, police sent him to Balizhuang Forced Labor Camp, but he was extremely weak and had to be taken back when the camp refused to accept him. On August 3, 2005, police sent him to the same camp.

On August 11, 2005, practitioner Mr. Qi Mingxi from Chengji Village, Jindian Town, the Raodu District, Linfen City, was arrested by local police together with his daughter when they were passing out truth clarifying materials in Ji County. They were transferred to Raodu District Detention Center the next day. Mr. Qi's daughter is a college student not yet 18 years old.

At around 11:00 p.m. on August 11, police officers from the Wenbao Police Department broke into Mr. Qi's neighbor's house, climbed the wall into Mr. Qi's home and ransacked the home. They confiscated tapes, books, Master Li's photo, truth clarifying materials, copies of the Nine Commentaries on the Chinese Communist Party, a stereo, a DVD player, a bank book containing five thousand yuan, and an MP3 player.

Practitioner Mr. Si Deli lives in the Xinyang region. He was detained multiple times and was just released from three years of forced labor under close monitoring. On August 4, 2005, when Mr. Si Deli was walking together with his classmate on the street, he was stopped by police without any reason and detained for fifteen days in the 610 Office, where he was tortured. He was sent to the Xianshan First Detention Center on August 19, 2005. No one knows how long they plan to detain him this time.

On June 22, 2005, practitioners Ms. Li Shuxian and Ms. Wen Xiuzhi were reported and arrested when clarifying the truth in the Wafangdian region. They are being detained in Lingyuan City Detention Center and their families have not been allowed to visit them.

On July 20, 2005, practitioner Mr. Cheng Ran was arrested and sent to the Qinghe Detention Center where he went on hunger strike. No one knows where he is now.

On the morning of September 13, 2004, eight to nine police officers went to the home of practitioner Ms. Yang Lianying, 63, and confiscated two copies of Zhuan Falun and some truth clarifying materials which say "Please remember that Truth, Compassion, and Forbearance are good and Falun Dafa is good." The materials also included "A Letter to the Police." The policemen took her cell phone, salary card, and more than nine hundred yuan in cash. Police put her in custody in Jiefang Station, took turns watching her, and forced her to sit on a chair five whole days without closing her eyes. This torture damaged her health severely. She was transferred to Weinan City Detention Center, where she remains to this day.

On the evening of August 18, 2005, policemen from the Guang'an City Police Department and local government workers ransacked the homes of practitioners Ms. Wu Longying, Mr. Wu Zeying, and Mr. Tang Xianhai in Longtai Town and then arrested them. The next day they ransacked practitioner Mr. Zeng Xiangzhu's home in Hengsheng Town, forcing Mr. Zeng to become homeless in order to avoid being arrested at home.

In mid-August 2005, practitioner Ms. Yi Chunuhua from Chongqing City was arrested and taken to Nanshan City. No one knows where she is now.

3. [Baoji City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Zhang Huilan Arrested for Distributing Truth-clarifying Flyers

Practitioner Zhang Huilan, 58, is a retired employee of the Baoji City Railroad Driver School. Ms. Zhang was healthy and kind.

On August 26, 2005, when Ms. Zhang Huilan was distributing truth-clarifying materials at Shiyangmiao Didian Village, personnel from the Chenchang District Political and Judiciary Committee 610 Office arrested and detained her in the Baoji City Railway Driving School. More than ten people monitored, tortured her and deprived her of sleep. Police cars in black, silver, and gray with numbers Shaan0A4025, Shaan0A2083 and Shaan0A3786 were parked in the yard. More than ten people eat and live at the driving school.

According to an insider, on the eighth day of Ms. Zhang's detention, September 2, people in white were seen walking in the yard, possibly related to her health condition.

4. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Huang Xiangling Leads a Homeless Life While Family is Harassed

Practitioner Ms. Huang Xiangling from Mulan Town, in the Xindu District of Chengdu City went to hang Falun Gong banners, but the police arrested her and put her into a detention center. She has been held twice at the Tishanhe Police Station, where she was deprived of sleep and put in handcuffs and shackles. Her thighs were beaten so severely that they swelled and became blue. She was handcuffed to a chair around the clock, and the handcuffs cut into her flesh. A month later the detention center authorities issued a release document, but persons from the Mulan Town government and the police station in the Xindu District didn't want to release her, so they held her in the police station. After her release, Ms. Huang started to lead a homeless life to avoid persecution. Her family has been harassed and threatened for the past year. Police claimed that if they found Ms. Huang they would sentence her to six or seven years in prison. Ms. Huang's mother-in-law and her husband are depressed from the intense pressure. They suffer from illness and are skin and bones.

In early May 2005, practitioner Li Changxin from Shuangcheng City was arrested for clarifying the truth of Falun Gong on a train, and sentenced to two years in prison. Li is currently being held at the detention center in the Qiqihar City Railway System Police Division.

Practitioner Ms. Li Yaping, 32, from the Fengrun District of Tangshan City, worked at the Fengrun Restaurant affiliated with the Fengrun Hotel. In June 2004 she learned Falun Gong when she visited Hong Kong and Macau. She was reported to her manager when she clarified the truth of Falun Gong and persuaded people to quit the CCP and related organizations after she came back from her travels. Her employers sent her to the 610 Office on September 1, 2005. That same day, 610 Office personnel sent her to the Tangshan City Brainwashing Class in the former University of Weaving and Spinning Engineering.

Facts of the Persecution: The Persecution of Falun Gong Practitioner Wang Fengyun and Her Family in Nongan County, Jilin Province

During the vicious persecution over the past six years, Falun Gong practitioner Wang Fengyun from Nongan County, Jilin Province was constantly tormented by the authorities for her belief. She was illegally sentenced to four years of forced labor and is currently being held at Heizuizi Women's Labor Camp in Changchun City, Jilin Province.

Ms. Wang's husband Wang Zhongren was detained many times for appealing for justice for Falun Gong. Her daughter Wang Xiaoqiu was illegally detained and held at a forced labor camp for one year and was physically and mentally devastated by the abuse she suffered while in detention.

The persecutors extorted money from Wang Fengyun and her husband, which they were saving for their son's college education. Each time Wang Fengyun or her husband was held at the Nongan County Custody Center, perpetrators from the Political and Security Division from Nongan County extorted "guarantee" money from their family. They refused to release Wang Fengyun if they didn't get the money. Wang Fengyun and her family are destitute after being squeezed for extortion money numerous times. This happy family was torn apart and destroyed by the evil persecution.
