  • Chinese Communist Regime Spends Money to Conceal the Persecution Facts

According to Media reports, Hu Jintao's trip to North America this September will be his first visit to North America as the Secretary-General of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Prior to his visit, Falun Gong practitioners throughout the U.S. and Canada have held various activities to urge Hu to bring Jiang Zemin and other chief perpetrators in the persecution of Falun Gong to justice. In order to create a so-called "welcome atmosphere" and the momentum to overwhelm protesters, Chinese Consulates and Embassies spend money to hire people to "welcome" Hu Jintao.

Welcome team bought by the Chinese communist regime attempted to use their flags and banners to block petitioners' banners.

Since the Chinese communist regime started persecuting Falun Gong in 1999, nearly 3000 practitioners died in the persecution. The brutal persecution is still going on and its means have become more secret. Numerous practitioners are still imprisoned and suffer from all kinds of torture.

That the CCP spent money to hire people overseas to welcome its leaders clearly manifests how the regime enslaves people. Its purpose is to conceal the persecution facts and to serve as propaganda to mislead people in China. This has been a tactic that CCP constantly used.

Former Chinese diplomat Chen Yonglin remembered that when Hu Jintao visited Australia in 2003, he was still serving in the Chinese Consulate in Sydney. The Chinese communist regime gave an order that protests should not be "seen or heard". The order especially targeted Falun Gong. He believed that same order would be followed during Hu's trip in North America this September.

Chen Yonglin told a story: When Jiang Zemin visited Germany in 2002, he met a nice westerner who greeted him in his hotel lobby. Jiang then smiled and walked toward the westerner. To his astonishment, the westerner went on to say, "Falun Gong is great!" Jiang suddenly paled and almost fell. At that time, Chinese diplomats and Ambassador in Germany Ma Canrong were all criticized. From then on, "hearing or seeing no petition" has become the first priority in receiving Chinese communist leaders.

In addition to controll petitioning organizations and put overseas Chinese people under surveillance, the Chinese Consulates also recruit overseas Chinese students in the "welcome team" to wave flags and shout as leaders approach and block groups of protesters. The welcome teams are mostly composed of students. The CCP regime pay them money, provide them food and tickets for some art performances.

When Jiang Zemin visited other countries, no matter where he went, he would encounter Falun Gong practitioners' peaceful protests and condemnation. Jiang had to take the special path dedicated to transporting trash to avoid the protest groups. He dared not to meet the "welcoming" crowds.

Hu Jintao is now in the final moment when the Chinese nation is in its biggest crisis ever in China's history. We hope that he will clearly discern right from wrong and carry out his duty according to his conscience. Immediately stop the persecution of Falun Gong, bring the perpetrators of the persecution to justice, disassemble the Chinese Communist Party, and change the crisis into an opportunity for good.

Canada: Practitioners Urge to Bar Entry of Criminals Who Violate Falun Gong Practitioners' Human Rights

Prior to head of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Hu Jintao's state visit to Canada, Canadian Falun Gong practitioners held a press conference on August 31 in front of the office of Anne McLellan, Deputy Prime Minister of Canada and Minister of Department of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness. Practitioners urged the Canadian government to bar criminals who violate Falun Gong practitioners' human rights from entering Canada.

According to a report compiled by World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong (WOIPFG), during his tenure as the Mayor and municipal party committee secretary of Dalian and Governor of Liaoning Province, Bo Xilai summarized and directed the suppression of Falun Gong at numerous meetings and in a number of reports. As a consequence, Liaoning Province became one of the provinces where the persecution of Falun Gong was most severe.

A practitioner who was from Liaoning Province recounted her experience of being detained for one month in a detention center and later imprisoned in a labor camp and brainwashing center simply because she went to Tiananmen Square to appeal on behalf of Falun Gong. She called upon the Canadian government to bar Bo Xilai, the current Chinese Minister of Commerce from entering Canada as a member Hu's delegation in accordance to the related law on anti-human and war crimes.

Practitioners also read out a supportive letter from Canadian Parliament Member David Kilgour to Canadian Falun Dafa Association and a letter from international renowned human rights attorney David Matas to Minister of Canadian Department of Safety, Minister of Immigration, and Minister of Foreign Affairs to urge the government to reject issuing visa to Bo Xilai and other criminals who participated in the persecution of Falun Gong.

After the press conference, practitioners delivered materials to staff members of Anne McLellan's office.

Ottawa: Members of Parliament Support Falun Gong Practitioners Calls for Justice

On the eve of Hu Jintao's visit to the United States and Canada, several members of Canadian parliament wrote to the Prime Minister, asking him to bring up human right issues in China, especially the persecution of Falun Gong, during his meeting with Hu. Meanwhile, Falun Gong practitioners in all large Canadian cities have been holding Anti-Torture Exhibitions and signature collection activities to raise awareness of the persecution to politicians and the general public.

Members of Parliament Request Prime Minister to Urge Hu to End Persecution

Among those Members of Parliament who wrote the Prime Minister were Scott Reid, Libby Davies, Rob Anders and Peter Julian. They also asked the Prime Minister to urge Hu Jintao to release the 18 family members of Canadian Falun Gong practitioners.

MP David Kilgour talked with Falun Gong practitioners

MP Reid mentioned in his letter that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), utilizing its embassy, consulates and spies, infringed the human rights of Canadian Falun Gong practitioners by inciting hatred, threatening and harassing them. MP Reid urged the Prime Minister to protect the Canadian sovereign rights and Canadian citizen's human rights.

MP David Kilgour attended practitioners' press conference in person to support the effort to end the persecution and urged the Canadian government deny entry of CCP official Bo Xilai and Xia Deren who are both actively involved in and responsibility for persecution.

According to a report of Ottawa Citizen, Alexa McDonough, the New Democratic Party foreign affairs critic, said: "It's an important opportunity for him to put his money where his mouth is in making the argument that an enhanced trade relationship will push human rights."

    Persecution Has Never Stopped

Since last week, practitioners' anti-torture exhibitions have been staged at Capitol Hill, Citizenship & Immigration and Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Practitioners' truth-clarification efforts received widely support from the public including more than 1000 letters of support.

    Anti-torture exhibition at Capitol Hill

At the exhibition site, the reporter interviewed Toronto practitioner Ms. Li. She said: "The persecution of Falun Gong in China has last 6 years. Since Hu Jintao assumed leadership of Chinese government last year, the persecution has become worse and worse instead of reaching an end. Though the regime no longer runs public propaganda as before, the persecution is still ongoing underground and even teenagers have been arrested for practicing Falun Gong.

"From the point of human rights, Hu should end this persecution against people's fundamental rights and human conscience. The persecution has last such a long time, any country and individual have to make their own choice of conscience. We hope Canadian government will continue to take the leadership in safeguarding human rights and publicly demand Hu to stop the persecution."

Ms. Tian, 69, just came from Beijing. Tian also participated in the anti-torture exhibition. Before she started to practice Falun Gong, Tian had severe tracheitis. She regained a healthy body and joyful mind from practicing Falun Gong. However, she and her fellow practitioners have been subjected to persecution of different degree since the persecution started in 1999. Tian said: "The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) established "610 Offices" at all levels of the government to persecute practitioners. We are subject to surveillance all the time. Upon holidays, police can arrest us without any documents. Some practitioners that I know are still being illegally detained.

Deny Entry of Human Rights Ruffians is a right choice of a civilized country

On August 29, practitioners held an anti-torture exhibition in front of Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration, calling the authority to deny entry of Bo Xilai and Xia Deren. Ms. Li said: "No government should allow such human rights ruffians to enter their country, and this is the least thing a government should do to support justice. And this is a right choice for the Canadian government and civilians."

    Between Commercial Interest and Justice

What will the Canadian Government choose between commercial interest and justice? In his letter to the Prime Minister, MP Davies wrote, "... This [persecution of Falun Gong practitioners] has been documented by the UN and many human rights organizations. The incarceration and torture of hundreds of thousands of people and the estimated death of 2780 Falun Gong practitioners are gravely concerning." "It is important that President Hu realizes that Canada genuinely respects justice, democracy and supports human rights and that this is the underpinning to sustain long-term stability and prosperity in our trade and economic partnership with China."

MP Reid wrote: "It will be Hu Jintao's wise action to stop the persecution of Falun Gong launched by his predecessor." [Paraphrasing].

A practitioner said, "If a person or a government has no sense of basic justice, trading with such individual or government is not safe at all. Therefore, to secure commercial interest, one must stand firm in justice. If a government bows to CCP today, no one knows what unreasonable requests the CCP will bring up tomorrow. I believe justice is the corner stone of prosperity of any society. US and Canadian governments should speak out to uphold justice accord with their founding principles."

Canadian practitioners believe what they are doing is to help Canadian government and civilians to choose a good future besides calling for an end to the persecution. Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance principles are good for all human beings and thus should not be tramped on and slandered. They stated: "Every Canadian including Chinese immigrants doesn't want to see Canada becomes an accomplice of CCP and a state with no guaranty of human rights. Canada was the first country which condemned the persecution publicly and we hope the new Canadian government will make the right choice again."

Russia: Moscow Residents Awaken to the Truth

On August 21, Falun Gong practitioners from Moscow again went to the city center to let people know about the Chinese Communist Party's persecution of Falun Gong, and to call for the citizens of Moscow to pay attention to and help stop this inhumane persecution.

Event calls for attention and help to end the brutal persecution of Falun Gong in China

The venue for our activity was in a square neighboring a big park and a train station. In addition to the especially fine and clear weather, it was also a weekend, and thus there were lots of people coming here for a walk or just a rest.

Our "Falun Gong" banner and our big sign calling to "Stop the Persecution of Falun Gong in China" were very eye-catching. There were always a large number of bystanders in front of the information posters. After learning about the situation, people signed the anti-persecution petitions one after another.

Moscow citizens are very concerned about the brutality

At the site, we witnessed many touching stories which told us that people here are awakening to the truth:

Young people with conscience and kindness

Many groups of young people passed by our spot because it was the only way to the park. Most people were attracted by this unusual site. Some read the posters in detail, others listened carefully to practitioners' explanations. After getting to know the truth, crowds of people queued up to sign the petition to show their opposition to the persecution. Some people even came back after signing the petition to listen to practitioners explain everything again.

Some young people had playful and disrespectful thoughts in mind and only wanted to join in for fun. Nevertheless when they walked into this field, stood before the posters and saw the cruel truth of good people being tortured to death, their attitudes gradually turned more serious. After understanding what was going on, they also came to sign their names on the anti-persecution petition, adding their weight to the justice side on the great scale of justice and evil.

Many people sign practitioners' petition to support Falun Gong

    "How similar!"

An elderly lady looked at the posters for a very long time. When she was signing the petition at the table, her expression was solemn and dignified and she said to practitioners: "How similar". One could see that there is a history in the depth of her heart that she does not wish to recount. The Russian people have suffered greatly under the violent dictatorship of the former Soviet Communist Party. Twenty million people were massacred during the seventy years of its reign, not to mention how many people suffered the torments of forced labor, mental hospitals and banishment into exile. The nature of the Communist Party is just bloodthirsty and wicked, no matter in which country. This elderly lady deeply sympathized with and strongly supported Falun Gong practitioners who are being persecuted. One could say that it was probably a predestined relationship.

Senior citizens sympathize with practitioners' suffering and sign the petition
