Ms. Wan Jian-ling is a Falun Gong practitioner from Wu-yang Village of Nan-chang County. She has been detained in the Detention Center of Nan-chang County for over 50 days.

40 Human Rights Organizations and some famous Chinese dissidents urged the international society to support a resolution condemning China' serious violation of human rights. The resolution is proposed by the United States and will be submitted to the UN Human Rights Commission next week.

On the afternoon of April 5, on behalf of European Union, a representative from Portugal made a speech on the "civil and political rights". The speech criticized China' violations of human rights. The speech also maintained that the European Union was against the "re-education" through forced-labor, torture, police brutality, arbitrary detention, and persecutions against the religious groups. The speech brought up the Falun Gong issue at least twice.
