Recent Falun Gong Activities Around the World
May has been a busy month for Falun Gong practitioners. Besides holding celebrations for the 20th annual World Falun Dafa Day and founder Master Li Hongzhi's birthday, practitioners have also participated in various community events and other activities throughout the world. From a community festival in Miaoli, Taiwan to a peaceful protest in Oslo, Norway, practitioners share the beauty of Falun Gong and raise awareness of the persecution in China.
Russia: Falun Dafa Day Celebrated by Activities Throughout Russia
From the Caucasus to Siberia, in the Far East and in the south, Russian Falun Dafa practitioners did the exercises together, danced and sang, and played the waist drums in honor of World Falun Dafa Day. One event organizer said their performances were “truly wonderful.” “This is so special and so amazing!” exclaimed a woman who was moved to tears as Falun Dafa practitioners passed by her in their golden outfits.
Minghui Report: 688 Falun Gong Practitioners in China Arrested in April 2019
April 25 was the 20th anniversary of Falun Gong practitioners' peaceful gathering outside the National Appeals Office in Beijing in 1999 to seek the release of several practitioners unjustly arrested days before. It has become a politically sensitive date for the communist regime, and police often arrest practitioners on a large scale around this time every year. Several group arrests were reported across China this April, and two practitioners died as a result of police harassment.
