Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Kang Jinying was jailed for two and a half years for her faith. When released, she received a notice to return the pension benefits issued during her imprisonment. During the hearing, Ms. Kang defended herself, requesting dismissal of the case due to its lack of legal basis. The social security bureau later withdrew the case.

96 Falun Gong Practitioners Sentenced for Their Faith Reported in May 2021

In May 2021, Minghui.org reported that another 96 Falun Gong practitioners were sentenced to prison for their faith, including one in 2019, 37 in 2020, 2 in January 2021, 32 in April 2021, and 22 in May 2021. The newly reported cases brought the total number of practitioners sentenced in 2020 and 2021 to 888 and 325, respectively.
