Statement at UN Strategy Session of the Association of World Citizens: Rape and Sexual Slavery, A Crime Against Humanity

Mr. Chairman, thank you for the opportunity to speak out about the situation of female Falun Gong practitioners detained in China. I am a Falun Gong Practitioner and I have been following this issue, since the crackdown in China against Falun Gong, and would like to provide some information for those attending today.

"Rape and Sexual Slavery: A crime against humanity"

On March 23, 2001, the Association of World Citizens hosted a strategy session on the topic of: Rape and Sexual Slavery: A crime against humanity. With growing attention and concerns on the sexual abuse of female Falun Gong practitioners by Jiang Zemin' henchmen, Falun Gong practitioners were invited to attend the session. A Falun Gong practitioner brought forth the facts regarding the situation of female Falun Gong practitioners being detained in labor camps, prisons and mental hospitals in China.

Amnesty International Launches a "Signature-Signing" Activity at the University of Geneva

Beginning on March 19, the Geneva Branch of Amnesty International began a one-week long "signature-signing" activity in a corridor of the University of Geneva. The activity starts at 7:00 a.m. and ends at 10:00 p.m. everyday.
