I came to know Sister Li while in prison. At that time, she looked very young to me, so I called her by her name; Sister Li didn't seem to mind what I called her. She was arrested because she opened a banner on Tiananmen Square. I was thrown into jail "for no reason" -- that is "the crime of one who is likely to appeal."

Sister Li told me that while she was in her hometown, she always wanted to go to appeal. However, her family members watched her carefully. Around 2 a.m. one morning, she jumped out of the window and managed to come to Beijing. At Tiananmen Square, she met many practitioners. When she noticed some practitioners were hindered while trying to open banners, she asked who else had more banners. An elder lady said she did, and immediately took out a very small banner from her pocket. The two of them opened the banner together, at which time some policemen rushed toward them. Sister Li never noticed if the policemen were beating her or not; all she cared about was holding onto the banner and not losing it.

While in the prison, she was told that practicing Falun Gong was not allowed, and asked her how she dared to practice there. She said to herself, "Why wouldn't I dare? I will practice." The other prisoners beat and kicked her, leaving purple bruises on her body; however, she was not afraid. Ironic enough, the inmate who beat her the most severe had a swollen throat the next day.

After Sister Li was released, she started to distribute fliers, mail letters, and tell the truth about Falun Gong to people.

Once I went to pass out materials with her in a big building. While doing so, we became separated from each other, which caused me to become a little afraid. I decided to leave the building and return home. I thought that Sister Li would also return home since she could not find me. My husband said that Sister Li was a very simple and honest person, and she would not return like I did. When I went back to look for Sister Li, I found her in front of the same building waiting for me. She even apologized, blaming herself for my having to look for her. Her heart is always considerate of other people, and she never thinks about herself. She always looks for her own shortcomings and never searches for the faults of others.

She was fearless while passing out fliers, only thinking about passing fliers out as fast as possible, so other people can read them. Unfortunately, while Sister Li was looking for me in the building, someone walked off with the packet full of fliers and threw it away. She wondered how people could do such a thing.

Sister Li has been mailing out Falun Dafa materials to people for a long time now. She mailed materials to everyone she knew. I taught her this method, but I only did it once or twice and then stopped; however, Sister Li never stopped mailing out letters since discovering this was a great way to promote Dafa. She often spent 200 Yuan RMB (Chinese dollar, the average monthly salary is about 500 Yuan) buying stamps at the post office. She also mailed Falun Dafa materials to police stations several times, even though she only knew the family names and posts of the people there. I told her that mailing them the materials once was enough, since I doubted if they would read the materials at all. Sister Li believed they would probably read the materials since the contents were different than regular mail.

Although I also practice Falun Gong, I am far behind her in my cultivation. Why do our practitioners like to get together? Because Falun Gong is a pure land, and every practitioner is like a family member. Their words and deeds move, refine, and purify our hearts and minds.
