(Minghui.org) The authorities in Wanzhou District broke into a local woman’s home and dragged her into a car. She was put in a prison where she was discharged six months ago after being tortured to near death because of her faith.
Ms. Zhang Chenying is a practitioner of Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline persecuted in China since 1999. She was arrested and sentenced to five years in prison after visiting a practitioner in a police station in January 2014. She was brutally tortured in Chongqing Women’s Prison. Her stomach festered because of the injuries she sustained from being force fed. She eventually had to rely on tubes to take in food, urinate and excrete. She became disfigured and paralyzed in bed. The prison doctor declared that she had a matter of days to live.
Not wanting to shoulder responsibility for her death, the prison authorities quickly informed her family and sent her to Wanzhou District Hospital in late 2016. After the prison officially turned over custody of her to the hospital, the prison doctor warned her family that the tubes needed to stay connected to her and that she would be lucky to survive past the 2017 New Year.
After the prison authorities left, Ms. Zhang insisted on checking out of the hospital, as she decided to continue practicing Falun Gong at home. Her health improved by the day and by the sixth month, she was basically well.
Not wanting her to spread word of how she was tortured to near-death and miraculously recovered by practicing Falun Gong, the authorities convinced her husband to take her to a hospital for an examination. Knowing that her health had recovered, the authorities planned to take her back into custody since she still had five months left in her sentence.
As soon as Ms. Zhang and her husband had her health checked at the appointed hospital on July 26, 2018, at noon time on the same day the justice department and prison authorities went to her home and took her back to Chongqing Women’s Prison.
