Daughter Illegally Sentenced, Mother Suffers Brutal Persecution for Making Appeal (Photo)

(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Qiu Yuxia was recently illegally sentenced to three years in prison by the Jiamusi Middle Court, and she is now imprisoned in the Heilongjiang Province Women's Prison. Ms. Qiu was arrested by the Jiamusi 610 Office and the Jiamusi City National Security Team on July 2, 2008, while she was hiring a lawyer to make an appeal for her imprisoned daughter Ms. Ma Duo, who is also a practitioner. Ms. Qiu Yuxia is being tortured during her incarceration.

Baoding City, Hebei Province, is close to Beijing. The two cities are about 130 km (approximately 81 miles) apart. The northern part of Zhuozhou City and Laishui County are part of Beijing's Fangshan District. The three areas are under the jurisdiction of Baoding. There are 18 counties and four county-level cities. The total area is 22,000 square kilometers and its population in 2004 was 10,890,000.

Practitioner from Shanghai Losing His Sight After Seven Years of Persecution in Prison

(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Dafa Practitioner Mr. Lan Bin, 41, from Shanghai was arrested in 2001 by the Xuhui District Police Department in Shanghai and sentenced to ten years of imprisonment. He has been jailed at the Tilanqiao Prison in Shanghai for over seven years. It was learned recently that he is in very poor health.
