Falun Dafa is Good: A Woman's Miraculous Healing

[Minghui Net] My name is Liu Yongwu. I am 47 years old and I live in Toronto. In the past few decades, the hardest part of my life has been my sickness. I was very weak and had various kinds of diseases: insomnia, arthritis, osteophyte of the cervical vertebra, ulcers in my shoulder, gynecological disease, a bone spur in my foot and muscular atrophy. Additionally, I started experiencing chronic diarrhea after I gave birth to my first baby in 1981. I took bitter Chinese medicine for almost 4 years, but never had a single comfortable day.

I Am a Falun Dafa Practitioner; I Cannot Give in to Evilness

Because I practice Falun Dafa, I was dismissed from my workplace on August 1, 2000. Since then the harassment has yet to cease.

On the evening of December 13, 2000, after my family and I had gone to sleep, there was a knock at the door. Staff from the residential administrative office came to ask whether I practiced Falun Gong. When I answered yes, they took me away to the police sub-station and detained me there for one night without any legal procedure. They asked me to write a guarantee to give up practicing Falun Gong, which I refused. Then they transferred me to the residential administrative office; three days later I was sent to a transformation and study class organized by the local district government. I was detained with over 12 Falun Dafa practitioners. Several were middle school teachers that were in the middle of teaching class when school staff came to notify them some officials wanted to see them; they were then taken to this transformation class. Every one of us was required to hand in 3,000 Yuan RMB (roughly 6 months' income of an average worker in China) and "study" for one month until we wrote a guarantee not to practice Falun Gong anymore. In this class, a monitor was assigned to each Falun Dafa practitioner; even when we ate, used the washroom, or slept, we were watched. We completely lost our personal freedom. Because such detention was illegal, we went on a hunger strike to demand unconditional release. They were afraid of my taking the lead, so they transferred me to the Xiaobali Transformation School in Fengrun County; this school was notorious for its evilness. The first day there, the staff told me to go to their office and several of them kicked and beat me.
