(Minghui.org) Fifty-two World Falun Dafa Day articles written by Falun Dafa practitioners from different countries were published on the Minghui website in honor of the occasion. They described how practicing Falun Dafa helped them improve, physically and spiritually.

Practitioners in Japan thought the articles were valuable because they helped them identify their gaps and showed them where they can improve.

Remaining Diligent

Ms. Shinohara said the article, “My Mother-in-law and I Make a Great Team” was well written. After getting married, she always tried to be a good wife, a good daughter-in-law, and a good mother. But her efforts were not appreciated. “Your mother-in-law is a good person, please treat her well,” her father often said. “Marriage is not easy and tolerance is part of it,” her mother added.

After she began practicing Falun Dafa, Ms. Shinohara’s mindset changed. She trusted others and cared for them. When she encountered hard work or sacrifice, she reminded herself that she was a practitioner and used it as an opportunity to improve herself. As a result, her life was filled with joy.

From the article of “Extraordinary Stories in Mountain Towns,” Ms. Shinohara learned that a practitioner should be considerate of others, including letting go of attachment to money. Through looking within, she realized that she still had negative feelings toward others. “I should not have these things, but they are still there. I think they are attachments,” she said.

Ms. Shinohara said the article, “The Miners Recite ‘Falun Dafa Is Good’,” was touching because the author had strong faith in Falun Dafa and Master Li, the founder of the practice. The underground mine is a dangerous place, but the author was able to remain safe, maintain righteous thoughts, and help others. This shows that practicing Dafa helps oneself and benefits others.

Ms. Shinohara felt the same way. When her daughter was diagnosed with cancer Ms. Shinohara talked with her about Falun Dafa, but her daughter was not convinced. Ms. Shinohara realized it was because she had not cultivated well, or lacked compassion. In any case, she needed to be more diligent.

Facing Challenges

Ms. Hasegawa liked the article, “My Husband Stands Up for Falun Dafa and Protects Me.” The author used to be a shrew. Her family was surprised by her positive changes after she began practicing Falun Dafa. In her daily life, she was always strict with herself and followed Dafa’s principles.

When the author’s husband tried to stop her from going out to distribute information about Falun Dafa the author told him her life was for this. This sentence really moved Ms. Hasegawa. Her words changed her husband’s mindset, and he told her, “I read Dafa books so that time passes faster, and I ask Master Li to protect you!”

Ms. Hasegawa said in another article, “A Village Once in Turmoil Completely Changed,” that the residents in one village behaved so badly that people in the surrounding area called it a, “den of thieves.” After Falun Dafa was introduced to the village, people embraced the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. The village changed dramatically and even non-practitioners were impressed by the changes they witnessed.

Another article, “My Once Paralyzed Son is now a Ph.D. Student,” was also very touching. After the 8-year-old boy was diagnosed with pediatric rheumatoid arthritis combined with pediatric sepsis, he could not take care of himself. Fortunately he began to practice Falun Dafa the following year, and it was a turning point.

One incident was the physical test during the high school entrance exam. The boy decided to participate instead of accepting a waiver. When the author asked how he planned to prepare, the boy replied, “I’ll start training. I’ll run for a while every day before I go to school. I’ll practice the long jump at school, and use a medicine ball after dinner. I don’t care about the score but I’ll take the test.” In the end, the boy received an A grade.

Ms. Hasegawa said that reading these articles showed her that fellow practitioners really believe in Dafa and are willing to take challenges. This is something she will learn from and use to improve her cultivation.

A Better Understanding of What it Means to Cultivate

Mr. Abe said the article, “Long-Standing Brain Injury and Paralysis Healed Through Practicing Falun Dafa,” was very special. The author was wounded by his wife and suffered a brain injury due to hemiplegia. However, he still managed to raise his daughter.

Fortunately, the author’s daughter married into a practitioners’ family, and through them the author began practicing Falun Dafa. Even though he was not well educated, he had strong faith in Dafa and often reminded himself, “Listen and follow Master’s words. Nothing else is as important.” Mr. Abe found this very helpful and said it helped him gain new understandings about cultivation.
