(Minghui.org) My kitchen ceiling had been leaking for close to two years. The leak was due to my upstairs neighbor’s kitchen drainage system. It was actually a minor issue and only needed a simple repair. However, this neighbor ignored us every time we called him about the leak, and when we knocked on his door, he wouldn’t answer. Eventually, we had to contact the property management. They sent someone to talk to him, but nothing came of it.

The situation went unresolved for a long time. As the ceiling continued to leak, large patches of lime and cement were washed away. It was always damp, with large drops of water seeping through and an unpleasant smell.

My husband decided to talk to the neighbor directly to tell him that we would hire someone to fix it ourselves and that he wouldn’t need to worry about anything—just that we hoped he would open the door for the repairman. When my husband knocked on their door, the man opened it with a kitchen knife in his hand and threatened my husband, saying, “I’ll cut you if you knock on my door again.”

My husband explained that he meant no harm and calmly said that we weren’t trying to trouble him. We just hoped that he could open the door so we could hire someone to fix the ceiling. Without saying a word, the man slammed his door shut and wouldn’t open it no matter how many times we called.

All we could do was try to repair our kitchen ceiling. But no matter what we tried, it wouldn’t stop leaking. The repairman told us to put a bucket underneath to catch the water and empty it when it was full.

We even considered selling our home and leaving the area. But when we started to look into doing that, we realized that we hadn’t fixed the leak. If we sold it to someone else, wouldn’t they also be troubled by the same issue? That wouldn’t align with the standards of a Falun Dafa practitioner. So we gave up the idea of selling our home to escape the problem.

I looked within regarding this matter, asking myself if I had any shortcomings or if there was something I hadn’t cultivated well. I kept searching and searching but couldn’t find the root of the problem, and the issue still wasn’t resolved—the ceiling still leaked. After some time, however, my mindset changed, from initially disliking the man upstairs, to no longer being emotionally affected by the situation. I eventually realized that I shouldn’t be swayed by human thoughts and emotions.

Soon after, I suddenly thought of a way to fix the leak in the ceiling. I sent a message to the repairman who had worked on the ceiling before and told him my idea. He thought it was worth a try. But the very day the repairman was supposed to come, I saw that the bucket under the leak didn’t have a single drop of water in it.

The ceiling was usually damp, but when I touched it, there wasn’t even a trace of moisture. It was really strange. Just like that, the ceiling that had leaked for a year or two was dry.

I came to realize that, when it comes to cultivation, nothing is trivial. What may appear to be unrelated to our own matters or seem unsolvable can indeed be resolved as long as we improve our moral character (xinxing). Master can do anything and help solve any problem. I am grateful to Master for using this situation to improve my xinxing! I thank Master for his compassionate and arduous salvation! Being a Dafa practitioner is truly the greatest honor of my life. Words cannot express my endless gratitude to Master.
