(Minghui.org) I would like to share several cases of local practitioners who stumbled in cultivation because they didn’t handle money appropriately.

Family Tribulation Caused by Not Returning Money

Haifen borrowed 20,000 yuan from an elderly practitioner to help make ends meet. That elderly practitioner later passed away from sickness karma. Before she died, she told Haifen, “Donate the money you owe me to the local material production site.”

Haifen’s financial situation never improved, and over time she forgot about the 20,000 yuan she borrowed. Perhaps as a result of interference or karmic retribution, her husband had an affair and divorced her. Her daughter, who was always obedient, no longer listened to her and moved to another city. She no longer contacted Haifen.

Haifen looked within and realized that perhaps her tribulation was caused by the 20,000 yuan she never repaid. She found several odd jobs to earn extra money. A year later, she finally saved enough and donated it to the material production site, as she promised. After that, her daughter returned home and they became close once again.

Haifen told the other practitioners, “We can never owe others money dedicated to Dafa, not even a penny. It’s a serious crime and the old forces will use this as an excuse to persecute us. If we do wrong, even the divine can’t protect us.”

Not Giving the Donation to Material Production Site

Some practitioners from the countryside gave Bing, a local coordinator, 20,000 yuan and asked that it be given to a material production site. Instead, Bing gave the money to Jia, another practitioner.

What Bing didn’t know was that Jia’s husband was addicted to gambling. Jia died when she was hit by a truck. After she passed away, several practitioners went to her home to look for the 20,000 yuan, but couldn’t find it.

Since then, Bing also had several car accidents and she suffered severe injuries to her knees. Although she recovered by practicing the Falun Dafa exercises, she was soon arrested while distributing materials and was sentenced to two years. Not long after she was released, she was arrested again and faced frequent harassment after being released on bail.

Despite the tribulation, Bing didn’t think it was her responsibility to find the 20,000 yuan. Instead she blamed Jia for not keeping it safe. We have lost contact with Bing and don’t know her current situation.

Covering Up for a Non-practitioner

Practitioner Lai’s husband, Ding, had been offering motorcycle rides to earn some income, however he did not have a license for this due to lack of funds. When he helped an elderly practitioner, Kang, to transport some Dafa materials, the police confiscated his motorcycle. He blamed Kang and asked her to compensate his losses. Kang gave him money to buy a new motorcycle, and he did, but it was also confiscated by the police. Ding threatened Kang who gave him several payments totaling over 10,000 yuan.

But instead of learning a lesson and exposing Ding’s action, Kang even introduced him to other practitioners and asked him to help transport things for them. One practitioner once gave Ding several thousand yuan and asked him to give it to the practitioner who provided materials. Ding kept the money and refused to return it when the practitioner asked him. Ding was later involved in several accidents during which several bones were broken.

A coordinator told other practitioners that Ding attended group Fa study and was a practitioner. The practitioners even chipped in to pay for his surgery.

Kang now suffers severe sickness karma and is unable to care for herself.

Not Treasuring Dafa's Resources

Yi began making truth-clarification materials after the persecution began. She never contributed any money herself but instead always used money donated by other practitioners. Perhaps because the money came so easily, she never cherished it, and often wasted or threw away usable materials. Some practitioners reminded her to appreciate these resources and use them carefully, but Yi refused to listen. The police later ransacked her home and she was forced to live away from home for nearly ten years. The police continue to harass her family, trying to find out her where she is.
