(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioners in San Diego held a series of activities in front of the USS Midway Museum, and the Victory Kiss statue on July 15, 2023. They were commemorating the 24th anniversary of Falun Gong’s peaceful resistance in the face of the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution. Many people learned about Falun Gong and the CCP’s human rights crimes. Many were willing to sign a petition calling for an end to the existence of the CCP.
Falun Gong practitioners in San Diego held a group exercise session, and an art exhibition.
Practitioners held a candlelight vigil to mourn Falun Gong practitioners who have died because of the CCP’s ongoing persecution.
Richard Yarbiaming, who works at the tourist site, told the reporter that he had always seen Falun Gong practitioners here these years, and he admires them. Despite his busy work, Richard stopped to find out information. He said he was grateful for the opportunity to learn about Falun Gong and the persecution.

“I only meditated for a few minutes, but I feel energized. I really like the peace, the calming music and everything. It’s great,” Richard said. He would like to join the group exercise in the park.
Terrie from Denver studied every piece of artwork in the art exhibition. “These artists are outstanding! I spent my time learning the stories behind every painting,” Terrie said, “It’s sad that people are persecuted for meditating. Everyone has the right to have a belief and the freedom to express their spiritual faith.” Terrie took some introductory Falun Gong fliers to share with her sisters.
Local residents Daniel and Thuy spent a long time finding details about Falun Gong. Thuy said, “It’s so wrong to persecute such a peaceful and beneficial practice! The paintings make me cry. I believe all they depict are true.”
Daniel said, “Fortunately, we have freedom of speech and can hold such activities [that show the evil behavior of the Communist regime]. We hope our signatures will help!”
