What Is Our Objective in Participating in Dafa Projects?

(Minghui.org) We are in a transition period—before the current Fa-rectification period ends and the Fa-rectification of the human world officially begins. I’ve noticed that many things have changed among practitioners, especially in the questions we ask when choosing which Dafa projects to work on.

Back when the persecution started in 1999, practitioners in their 30s and 40s were the main force in doing Dafa projects. Many of them were very capable and they took on a lot of tasks in the early days of the persecution. Not only younger practitioners, but those in their 50s and 60s also took on many responsibilities to counteract the persecution.

When those practitioners were deciding on which projects to join, they often asked, “What needs to be done?” or “How can I contribute?” When they encountered difficulties, they took the initiative to learn new skills, improve themselves in cultivation to overcome inference, and ask Master for help. Their objective was clear: Assist Master in rectifying the Fa and saving sentient beings.

Twenty-four years have passed, and some of these practitioners are now in their 70s and 80s, still carrying out their duties.

Compared to them, when practitioners today consider which projects to join, they ask, “How much will I get paid?” “How will it help my career?” “What will I get out of it?” or “How will I benefit?” 

The “benefit” they talk about might be material gains or the opportunity to see Master. For some, whether the project is acknowledged by Master, or even personally managed by Master, becomes the deciding factor in terms of whether or not to participate and how much effort to spend on it. Some said they would be willing to do anything, as long as they could get in the project and see Master.

The projects that Master pays close attention to are certainly important when it comes to saving people. Many generate positive effects beyond our comprehension.

I now have two questions. First, are the questions the early group of practitioners asked (“What needs to be done?” or “How can I contribute?”) outdated? Second, given our limited manpower and resources, should we all do just the projects that Master often talks about or personally manages and stop doing other “minor” projects? After all, no matter how capable we are, what we can achieve would definitely be far inferior to the projects Master is leading.

As Fa-rectification period Dafa disciples, I am confident we will “see the light” based on the Fa’s teachings.
