(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 9 cities or counties in 5 provinces, where at least 19 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
1. [Chongqing] Ms. Zhang Fumin Sentenced to Two and a Half Years in Prison
2. [Xinyang City, Henan Province] The Case Against Si Desong Submitted to the Court
3. [Beijing] Five Practitioners Tried in Court
4. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Su Guiru Arrested
5. [Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Yang Jizhou and His Wife Ms. Wang Zhanfang Arrested and Detained
6. [Xiantao City, Hubei Province] Ms. Liu Yanqiu and Ms. Yang Dongmei Detained
7. [Lingyuan City, Liaoning Province] Three Practitioners Arrested and Detained
8. [Chongqing] Ms. Zhu Jingrong Arrested
9. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Nie Yan Detained
10. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Yang Zhilan Harassed
1. [Chongqing] Ms. Zhang Fumin Sentenced to Two and a Half Years in Prison
Ms. Zhang Fumin from Jiangjin District was sentenced to two and a half years in prison. She is currently held in the Jiangjin District Detention Center.
2. [Xinyang City, Henan Province] The Case Against Si Desong Submitted to the Court
Si Desong from Huangchuan County was arrested in Changsha City by officers from the Huangchuan County Police Department in March 2023. Si was later released on bail pending trial. Si’s case was recently submitted to the court by Huangchuan County Procuratorate.
3. [Beijing] Five Practitioners Tried in Court
Five practitioners including Hu Jinfeng, Wu Zhiming, Chen Yuying, An Xiurong, and Wang Runrong, were tried in the Shunyi Court at 9:30 a.m. on April 27, 2023. While they were incarcerated in the Shunyi District Detention Center they were abused by being deprived of sleep for long periods of time and handcuffed with their hands behind their backs.
4. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Su Guiru Arrested
Officers from the Minzhu Police Station in Changyi District went to Ms. Su Guiru’s home on June 4, 2023. They ransacked it and confiscated a photo of Falun Gong’s founder, Falun Gong books, a laptop, a cell phone and a media player. Ms. Su was arrested but was released the next day.
Ms. Fu Guiyuan went missing at the same time.
5. [Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Yang Jizhou and His Wife Ms. Wang Zhanfang Arrested and Detained
Officers from the Fendou Police Station in Jinlin District went to the home of Mr. Yang Jizhou and his wife Ms. Wang Zhanfang on the morning of May 26, 2023. They ransacked the place and confiscated several handwritten copies of Falun Gong books and poems written by Mr. Yang. They tore down several wall posters. The couple was taken to the police station. They were detained for eight days in the Yichun City Detention House.
6. [Xiantao City, Hubei Province] Ms. Liu Yanqiu and Ms. Yang Dongmei Detained
Ms. Liu Yanqiu and Ms. Yang Dongmei are incarcerated in the Xiantao City Detention Center. The practitioners there are required to wear orange uniforms while others wear blue uniforms. All the practitioners are pressured to sign a “repentance statement.”
7. [Lingyuan City, Liaoning Province] Three Practitioners Arrested and Detained
Ms. Han Cuiqin and Ms. Huang Hezhi were arrested by officers from the Nan Street Police Station on June 4, 2023, for talking to people about Falun Gong. They were sent to the Chaoyang City Women’s Detention House.
Mr. Liu Weidong was arrested on May 12, 2023. He was detained for 15 days and has returned home.
8. [Chongqing] Ms. Zhu Jingrong Arrested
Ms. Zhu Jingrong in the Beipei District was arrested by local police on the afternoon of June 7, 2023. She was released on bail pending trial at 6 p.m. on June 8, 2023, because of her high blood pressure.
9. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Nie Yan Detained
Ms. Nie Yan was taken to the Weizigou Detention Center on June 8, 2023.
10. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Yang Zhilan Harassed
Ms. Yang Zhilan was taking the D3205 train from Shanghai to Hangzhou at 9:35 a.m. on May 21, 2023, when a guard came and requested to check her ID and her bag. When Ms. Yang asked why she was searched, the officer vaguely answered it was because of her spiritual belief.
