1. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Three Practitioners Arrested or Harassed

Ms. Cao Jinhua and Ms. Zou Xiumei were arrested by officers from Shanhuangbao Township in Wanquan District on April 25, 2023. Their homes were ransacked. The practitioners are held in the Zhangjiakou City Detention Center.

Four officers from the Xuanpingbao Township Police Station in the Wanquan District went to Ms. Cui Zhanmei’s home on the morning of May 5, 2023. They ransacked her home and confiscated her Falun Gong books, the photo of Falun Gong’s founder and a media player.

2. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Three practitioners, Mr. Na Junpeng, Ms. Guo Yajuan, and Ms. Zhang Zhifang, were arrested at Ms. Zhang Zhifang’s home by seven officers from the Binjiang Police Station in Daowei District on the afternoon of April 25, 2023. Ms. Zhang Zhifang was released that evening. Ms. Guo and Mr. Na Junpeng were detained. The case against Mr. Na was submitted to the procuratorate.

3. [Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Yuan Hongying Arrested

Ms. Yuan Hongying was arrested on the afternoon of May 6, 2023.

4. [Houma City, Shanxi Province] Mr. Yuan Jinming Arrested

Mr. Yuan Jinming from Houma City was arrested in Quwo County on May 6, 2023. His home was ransacked. He is currently detained in Quwo County.

5. [Laixi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Quan Wenjiao Arrested and Detained

Ms. Quan Wenjiao from Jiangshan Town was arrested and detained for 15 days. She has been released.

6. [Xi’an City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Han Qiuli Arrested

Ms. Han Qiuli from Xincheng District was arrested by officers from the Hujiamiao Police Station around 4 p.m. on May 5, 2023. She was released around midnight.

7. [Chongqing] Mr. Fan Guoqing’s Home Ransacked

Mr. Fan Guoqing from Jiangbei District was reported to the police for talking to people about Falun Gong in Yuzhong District on the morning of May 2, 2023. The police followed him to his home and ransacked it.

8. [Xianyang City, Shaanxi Province] Three Practitioners Tried in Court

Zhang Tao, Li Jing, and Li Xianghong were tried in the Qindu District Court on April 25, 2023. Zhang Tao was charged and faced eight months in prison; Li Jing was sentenced to three to seven years in prison; Li Xianghong was also sentenced to three to seven years in prison.

9. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Gu Li Arrested

Gu Li was arrested on April 28, 2023.

10. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Ms. Deng Guoying Arrested

Ms. Deng Guoying was arrested on the campus of Hebei University by officers from the Dongguan Police Station on the afternoon of March 24, 2023. She was released on bail pending trial for one year.

11. [Xinyu City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Zhan Jinlian Arrested

Ms. Zhan Jinlian, 70, was arrested just before April 25, 2023, and has been detained.

12. [Guan County, Shandong Province] Chai Linggai and Li Guifen Arrested and Detained

Chai Linggai from Beitao Town and Li Guifen from Wanshan Township were arrested in Xiaocheng Village by officers from the Beitao Town Police Station on May 2, 2023, for talking to people about Falun Gong. The police ransacked Li Guifen’s home and confiscated Falun Gong books, informational materials about Falun Gong and more than 1000 yuan in paper bills imprinted with Falun Gong facts. The two practitioners were sent to the Liaocheng City Detention Center.

13. [Beijing] Wang Yanmei Arrested and Detained

Wang Yanmei from Yaojiayuan Village in Chaoyang District was arrested at home by four officers including Xu Yong from the Pingfang Police Station on the afternoon of April 20, 2023. The police ransacked Wang’s home and confiscated Falun Gong books, a printer, a laptop, a cell phone, etc. Wang was placed under 14-day detention and was sent to the Chaoyang District Detention Center.

14. [Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province] Mr. Hou Lijun Arrested and Detained

Mr. Hou Lijun was arrested by officers in the Jinyuan District last week. He is currently held in the Beige Detention Center in the Xiaodian District.

15. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Zhu Huimin Arrested

Ms. Zhu Huimin was arrested in mid-April 2023 for talking to a bus driver about Falun Gong. Her home was ransacked. She was sent to the No.1 Detention Center in Dongxihu District.

16. [Shouguang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Shufeng Arrested

Ms. Zhang Shufeng from Jiuxiang Village in Shengcheng Sub-district was arrested in a market on the morning of April 22, 2023, for talking to people about Falun Gong. She was released that evening.

17. [Beijing] Six Practitioners Tried in Court

Six practitioners, Tan Shouli, Hu Jinfeng, Wu Zhiming, Chen Yuying, An Xiurong, and Wang Runrong, were tried in the Shunyi District Court on the morning of April 27, 2023. Their lawyers defended their innocence.

18. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Ms. Hu Shenhua Arrested and Detained

Ms. Hu Shenhua from Yi County was arrested on the street by officers from the Lianchi Police Station on March 26, 2023. She was sent to the Qingyuan Detention Center before she was released on bail pending trial on April 28, 2023. Ms. Hu was placed under residential surveillance after she was released.

19. [Wanzai County, Jiangxi Province] Surveillance Cameras Installed in Three Practitioners’ Homes

Three staff members from the Jinsanjiao Community Office in Wanzai County went to Ms. Guo Yunying’s home around April 20, 2023. They installed a surveillance camera inside Ms. Guo’s home. The next day, several people came and pressured 67-year-old Ms. Guo to sign the guarantee statement (to stop practicing Falun Gong).

Ms. Guo Yuncheng, in her 70s, was also forced to have a surveillance camera installed at her home by local community staff members around April 20, 2023. She was also pressured to sign the guarantee statement.

Five community members went to Ms. Long Zhengxiu’s home around April 20, 2023. Ms. Long, 67, was questioned whether she removed the surveillance camera. Ms. Long was not told why they installed the camera at her home.

20. [Suiling County, Heilongjiang Province] Six Practitioners Persecuted

Four practitioners, Ms. Qian Zhihua, Mr. Li Kai, Zhang Mingli, and Ms. Fu Guixiang, were arrested at Ms. Qian Zhihua’s home by officers from the Zhennan Police Station on the evening of April 5, 2023. The police damaged Ms. Qian’s door and windows during the arrest. The homes of the four practitioners were ransacked. Ms. Qian Zhihua and Mr. Li Kai are currently detained in Suihua City.

Mr. Gu Yanwen was arrested on the afternoon of April 5, 2023. Twelve police officers ransacked his home at midnight. His wife and daughter were terrified. Another practitioner with the surname of Feng has been missing since then.

A site where informational materials about Falun Gong were produced was found by police on April 8, 2023. Many practitioners in Suiling County were harassed between April 8 to 20, 2023. They were photographed and pressured to sign a guarantee statement.

21. [Suining City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zhang Chengzhen Arrested

Ms. Zhang Chengzhen, 71, was followed one day in February 2023. Five officers came and ransacked her home. They confiscated two photos of Falun Gong’s founder, three Falun Gong books, two Minghui Weekly magazines, some media players, several amulets, 200 yuan imprinted with Falun Gong facts, etc. Ms. Zhang was taken to a police station for interrogation. She refused to cooperate and was released around 7 p.m.
