(Minghui.org) May 13, 2023 is the 31st anniversary of Falun Dafa’s public introduction and the 24th annual World Falun Dafa Day. The leader and deputy leader of the Conservative Party of Canada, as well as elected officials at all levels, sent congratulatory letters or videos, thanking Falun Dafa for bringing the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance to Canada. They said that Canada would always stand with Falun Dafa practitioners and resist the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution.

The Hon. Pierre Poilievre, MP, Leader of the Opposition and Leader of the Conservative Party, and his letter

The Hon. Pierre Poilievre, MP, stated in his letter, “Today, as practitioners face discrimination and violence from the Chinese Communist Party in Beijing, Conservatives join with the Falun Dafa in their calls for tolerance, peace, and freedom for their people.”

Letter from Melissa Lantsman, MP, Deputy Leader of the Opposition

Melissa Lantsman, MP, stated in her letter, “Every year, we take a moment to stop and recognize Falun Dafa, its founder, and all its adherents for the immeasurable contributions they have made and continue to make towards Canada and our global community.

“We revere the teachings of truthfulness, benevolence, and forbearance which have changed, inspired, and bettered the lives of millions.

“We applaud the many leaders and volunteers who sacrifice their time and effort to the many charitable activities that Falun Dafa promotes.

“Year after year, the communist dictatorship in Beijing continues to crack down on Falun Dafa and many other fundamental rights in China. They’re trying for more control. But they haven’t learned – they will never control the hearts and minds of people who want to be free.”
