Writing Articles to Celebrate World Falun Dafa Day

(Minghui.org) The Minghui Editorial “Call for Submissions to Commemorate World Falun Dafa Day 2023” has been published for over a month and the deadline is approaching. But some practitioners have not planned to submit articles.

I know that many practitioners have done the the three things very well. Because they are elderly and do not write articles regularly, it can be difficult for them to write something. Therefore, I think if we can recognize the importance of writing articles and help each other in the process, we can do this better.

A Process of Cultivation

Ling is a practitioner in my area who is very diligent about studying the Fa and cultivating herself. She is also able to verbally express herself very well. But putting her experiences into writing frightened her, so she did not even want to try.

After this year’s call for submission came out, Ling again did not plan to participate, saying that she did not know how to start. She asked me about it and I wasn’t sure, either. From anther perspective, however, we are practitioners who have cultivated Dafa for over 20 years—we should have gained some wisdom.

To encourage her, I sent Ling what I had written, and in return she also wrote a paper and shared it with me. I enjoyed reading it and thought to myself, “This is awesome!”

From reading Ling’s article, I found areas where I needed to improve. I continued working on my article for a few days before I submitted it to Minghui. Some practitioners said I had spent too much time on it, but I consider it part of my cultivation. In the story of Milarepa, for example, his master told him to build a stone house, demolish it, and start all over again. Similarly, our cultivation is also a process of calming down and improving our mind nature. It takes effort, and while helping others we are also improving ourselves.

A Special Era

My understanding is that if we do not start writing articles, we will never learn how to write well. When we have the heart to do it, Master will help us and give us wisdom. Whether the article is published or not is not important. It is critical for us to do it and we can still share our articles with practitioners in our study groups.

This year’s World Falun Dafa Day is special. Master published “How Humankind Came To Be” in January 2023. The Minghui Editorial’s call for submission notice also said, “...the Fa rectifying the human world will soon begin, and Fa-Rectification Period Dafa disciples are counting down to the day when they fulfill their mission.” My understanding is that the Fa-rectification has entered a new era and practitioners should cherish every opportunity in this special period of time.

These are my understandings, so please point out anything inappropriate. Many of us are busy every day studying the teachings, doing the exercises, and trying to save people. But if we can review what we have done and write it down, we will do better on what remains of our cultivation path.
