(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 7 cities or counties in 8 provinces, where at least 16 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
1. [Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Zhang Weifeng and Ms. Xie Xiuzhen Sentenced to Prison
2. [Zhengzhou City, Henan Province] Mr. Wu Xinyun Sentenced to Prison
3. [Gaomi City, Shandong Province] Three Family Members Arrested
4. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Xu Haiying Arrested
5. [Linyi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Kemei Arrested
6. [Panzhihua City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Luo Chengying Arrested
7. [Hanzhong City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Zhang Fenglian and Ms. Jia Xiufang Arrested and Detained
8. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Cui Weiwei Released From Prison
9. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Xu Yingjie Arrested and Detained
10. [Baotou City, Inner Mongolia] Three Practitioners Face Trial
1. [Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Zhang Weifeng and Ms. Xie Xiuzhen Sentenced to Prison
Thirteen practitioners and one family member from the Jiangbei New District, including Ms. Zhang Weifeng and Ms. Xie Xiuzhen, were arrested on October 15, 2022. Ms. Zhang Weifeng was later sentenced to four years in prison with three years of probation by the Xuanwu District Court. She was released at the end of September 2023. Ms. Xie Xiuzhen was sentenced to three and a half years in prison. She is still detained.
2. [Zhengzhou City, Henan Province] Mr. Wu Xinyun Sentenced to Prison
Mr. Wu Xinyun was sentenced to three years and nine months in prison. He appealed but the verdict was recently upheld by the Zhengzhou Intermediate Court.
3. [Gaomi City, Shandong Province] Three Family Members Arrested
Three family members who practice Falun Gong were arrested by officers from the Xiazhuang Town Police Station on November 8, 2023. They are Mr. Qin Songfa, Ms. Xu Xiuzhen, and Ms. Qin Shaoying. It is not known where they were detained.
4. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Xu Haiying Arrested
Ms. Xu Haiying talked to people about Falun Gong in Guanggu (the Donghu New Technology Development Zone) on November 10, 2023. She was arrested the next day. Her home was ransacked.
5. [Linyi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Kemei Arrested
Ms. Li Kemei lives in Fengtaizhuang, Yaodianzi Town, Yishui County. She was recently arrested by officers from the Xujiahu Police Station when she distributed calendars with information about Falun Gong. Her home was ransacked.
6. [Panzhihua City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Luo Chengying Arrested
Ms. Luo Chengying, 80, from Miyi County was arrested by Panlian Town Police Station officers when she talked to people about Falun Gong in Hebin Park on the morning of November 6, 2023. She was interrogated for more than 10 hours in the police station and was released after 11 p.m. When her son came to pick her up, the police pressured him to find out where Ms. Luo got her truth clarifying materials.
7. [Hanzhong City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Zhang Fenglian and Ms. Jia Xiufang Arrested and Detained
Ms. Zhang Fenglian was arrested on October 22, 2023. She was taken to the Nanjiao District Detention Center but was transferred to the Hantai District Detention Center a few days later. She is still detained.
Ms. Jia Xiufang was arrested on October 8, 2023. She was held for about 10 days in the Nanjiao District Detention Center.
8. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Cui Weiwei Released from Prison
Ms. Cui Weiwei was released on November 9, 2023, after being imprisoned for three years.
9. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Xu Yingjie Arrested and Detained
Ms. Xu Yingjie was summoned to the Changqing District Procuratorate on October 30, 2023. She was arrested and taken to a detention center.
10. [Baotou City, Inner Mongolia] Three Practitioners Face Trial
The cases against Mr. Wang Ying, Ms. Zhang Ruitong, and Ms. Meng Lili, were filed with the Donghe District Court by the Donghe District Procuratorate on September 28, 2023. They were scheduled to be tried in the Donghe District Court at 9 a.m., November 17, 2023.
