(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 13 cities or counties in 6 provinces, where at least 23 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Beijing] Five Practitioners Face Trial
Mr. Tan Shouli, Ms. Hu Jinfeng, Mr. Wu Zhiming, Ms. Wang Runrong, and An Xiurong (gender unknown) were scheduled for a court hearing again via video link on the afternoon of September 27, 2023. No family members are allowed to attend the hearing. Only their lawyers have been notified. The five practitioners are still being held in the Shunyi District Detention Center.
2. [Zhaoyuan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Yang Zuojuan Arrested
Ms. Yang Zuojuan was arrested by three male officers and one female officer from the Zhaoyuan City Domestic Security Division at around 8 a.m. on September 20, 2023. Her whereabouts are unknown.
3. [Xianning City, Hubei Province] Mr. Zhang Jian Arrested
Mr. Zhang Jian was beaten by seven or eight police officers when he was talking to people about Falun Gong near the Ninghong Market around 9 a.m. on September 22, 2023. Someone saw lumps in Mr. Zhang’s abdomen due to displaced intestines or other organs as a result of the beatings. It is not clear where he is being held.
4. [Qingzhou City, Shandong Province] Ms. Nan Zhenxin Arrested
Ms. Nan Zhenxin was missing for several days, and it was later learned that she had been arrested and taken to the Weifang City Detention Center by officers from the Qingzhou City Domestic Security Division.
5. [Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province] The Case Against Ms. Su Guiying Sent to Court
The case against Ms. Su Guiying was sent to court.
6. [Xiangning City, Hubei Province] Mr. Wu Zonglun Held in Detention Center
Mr. Wu Zonglun was reported to the police and arrested on his way to work on August 29, 2023. He was taken to the Xian’an District Lockup Center for 15 days of detention. Afterwards he was transferred to the Xian’an District Detention Center.
7. [Heihe City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Li Shuling’s Mother-in-Law Arrested
Several people who did not identify themselves broke into the home of Ms. Li Shuling’s mother-in-law and took her away. Ms. Li’s mother-in-law is currently being held in the Wudalianchi City Detention Center.
8. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhong Falan Detained
Ms. Zhong Falan from Nanhuangtuan Village, Mizhou Sub-district, Zhucheng City, was arrested at home around 10 a.m. on September 18, 2023. She was taken to a detention center for 15 days of detention.
9. [Jixi City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Wang Qiang Released on Bail
Ms. Wang Qiang was arrested and taken to the Hulin City Domestic Security Division by deputy head Qiu Haiming and Wang Wei from the Domestic Security Division, among others, on the morning of September 5, 2023. The officers pressured her to sign a bail form, which she refused. They later convinced her husband to sign the form. Qiu Haiming and three others went to her home at around 4 p.m. and ransacked the place.
10. [Macheng City, Hubei Province] Ms. Hu Bibo and Ms. Wu Xiuqin Released
Ms. Hu Bibo and Ms. Wu Xiuqin were arrested on September 7, 2023. After being detained for ten days, they returned home on September 18.
11. [Tumen City, Jilin Province] Ms. Yang Chunli Displaced
Ms. Yang Chunli’s one-year release on bail ended in mid-2022. In July 2022, less than a month after the end of her release on bail, the Tumen City Domestic Security Division wanted to place her under residential surveillance. Ms. Yang left home to avoid the persecution and has not returned.
12. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Luo Jing Arrested
Ms. Luo Jing, from Hubei Province, was arrested on the morning of September 21, 2023. Her home was ransacked and a large number of personal belongings were confiscated. Ms. Luo is being held in a police station in Jianxi District, Luoyang City, Henan Province. Further details are not yet available.
13. [Linzhang County, Hebei Province] Ms. Liu Xingzhi and Ms. Wang Junxiang Held in Detention Center
Ms. Liu Xingzhi and Ms. Wang Junxiang went to Xiyanggao Village to distribute information about Falun Gong on the evening of September 21, 2023. They were arrested by officers from the Xiyanggao Township Police Station. The two practitioners are being held in the Linzhang County Detention Center.
14. [Suifenhe City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Li Shuzhi Detained For 15 Days
Ms. Li Shuzhi was arrested in 2020 for distributing information about Falun Gong. She was later released after paying a 3,000 yuan fine.
Two officers went to Ms. Li’s home at 9 a.m. on July 15, 2023 and knocked on the door. They said that they wanted further investigate her case about her distributing truth clarification materials in 2020. Ms. Li did not open the door. Eight additional officers came to her home at 2:30 p.m., and took Ms. Li to the town police station. They then took her to the hospital for a physical examination. She was taken to the Suifenhe City Detention Center and held for 15 days. She returned home on July 30.
15. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Three Practitioners Harassed
In early August 2023, two officers went to Ms. Liu Jinxiu’s home in Lufang Village, Huanglou Town, Qingzhou City, and harassed her.
The officers went to Ms. Pan Xiumei’s home in Luli Village, Huanglou Town, Qingzhou City on September 6 and harassed her.
Mr. Zhang Shouxiang was harassed at his home in Caojia Village, Huanglou Town, Qingzhou City, starting on September 7, for three consecutive days.
