(Minghui.org) According to information collected by the Minghui website, at least twelve Falun Gong practitioners in Wuhan City, Hubei Province are still being held at eight different brainwashing centers as of November 2022, with one practitioner having been detained for fourteen months.
Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
Ms. Zhou Ailin, 54, a former auditor at the Qiaokou District Industrial and Commercial Bureau, was arrested on September 14, 2021 for talking to people about Falun Gong. She was held for 15 days at the Wuhan City No. 1 Lockup. When she was released on September 29, 2021, the police stopped her at the gate, carried her into a police car, and took her to the Etouwan Brainwashing Center, where she has since been held.

The other 14 practitioners were all taken to the brainwashing centers in 2022.
Ms. Wang Pingying was arrested on July 10 and taken to the Liuji Brainwashing Center in Xinzhou District.
Ms. Chen Wenjuan was scheduled to be released from prison on July 19, 2022 after serving 14 months for practicing Falun Gong. When her family went to pick her up, the authorities refused to release her and transferred her to a brainwashing center.
Ms. Chen Hanzhen was arrested at home on July 20. She has since been held at the Jiang’an Brainwashing Center and denied family visits.
Ms. Yang Wangmei, in her 60s, was arrested on July 28. Her family was told that she is now being held at the Gutian Brainwashing Center.
Mr. Fu Shengqiang was arrested in August 2022 while on a business trip. The authorities held him in quarantine for three weeks, using the excuse that he tested positive for COVID-19. He was transferred to a brainwashing center afterwards and has since been detained incommunicado.
Ms. Chen Guohua and Ms. Jiang Shuzhen, both in their 60s, were arrested on September 1 for talking to people about Falun Gong. Both are currently being held at the Wuchang District Brainwashing Center. Also detained in the same brainwashing center is Ms. Feng Xiaoyan, who was arrested on September 10.
Ms. Du Hong, in her 50s, was arrested on September 9, and her Falun Gong related items were confiscated. Her family was instructed to deliver some clothing for her at the residential committee, but the authorities refused to reveal where she was being detained. An insider revealed that she is currently at the Shiqiao Brainwashing Center in Jiang’an District.
Ms. Zhang Guozhen was arrested on October 16, after being reported for distributing Falun Gong materials in a residential area. Her home was ransacked. She is likely detained at the Dongxihu District Brainwashing Center.
Ms. Lei Yanxia, in her 70s, was arrested in mid-October. She is detained at the Etouwan Brainwashing Center.
In addition to the above-mentioned practitioners, several other practitioners have been released or their current situations weren’t clear.
Ms. Zhou Yijun was arrested on February 16 and taken to the Hongshan District Brainwashing Center. She and her family face continued harassment after she was released.
Ms. Qi Fangyun was arrested on May 7 and detained at the Yusunshan Brainwashing Center until July 31.
Ms. Guo Ruihong and her husband Mr. Mao were arrested on July 13. Her husband was taken to the Hanyang District Brainwashing Center, but was soon released due to a severe medical condition. The police have been monitoring him ever since. Ms. Guo remains detained at the Wuhan City No. 1 Detention Center.
Five practitioners were arrested on July 28. One of them, Ms. Bi, 95, was released on the same day due to her age. The situations of the other four practitioners isn’t known.
