Additional Persecution News from China – October 21, 2022 (13 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 10 cities or counties in 7 provinces, where at least 28 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Jinfeng Sentenced to Four Years in Prison

1. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Jinfeng Sentenced to Four Years in Prison

Ms. Wang Jinfeng was sentenced to four years in prison and fined 5000 yuan by the Yuhong District Court on September 19, 2022. She appealed to the Shenyang Intermediate Court.

2. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhao Xiuli Arrested

Ms. Zhao Xiuli from the Yuhong District was arrested at home on October 17, 2022. Her home was ransacked. She is detained in the Chengdonghu Police Station in the Yuhong District.

3. [Dazhou City, Sichuan Province] Five Practitioners Arrested

Five practitioners from the Dachuan District whose surnames are Wu, Zheng, Zhou, Peng, and Xu were arrested when they were reading the Falun Gong teachings on October 19, 2022. Their homes were ransacked.

4. [Hengyang City, Hunan Province] Ms. Yuan Meiyun Harassed

Four people including Huang Yong from Nanyue Town Police Station, and town government officials Chen and Dai Zijin went to Ms. Yuan Meiyun’s home on October 13, 2022. They pressured Ms. Yuan to sign the three statements. If he didn’t, they said they would confiscate her Falun Gong books and the photo of Falun Gong’s founder.

5. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Six Practitioners Harassed

Practitioners Ms. Yan Huiru, Ms. Zhao Shuqin, and Ms. Yu Shuqing, were photographed by officers from the Jiuzhan Police Station in the Economic Development Zone on September 24, 2022, when they took nucleic acid tests.

Ma Fei received a harassing call from the Jiuzhan Police Station in mid-September 2022. A few days later, the police knocked on Ma Fei’s door but he or she was not at home. Ma Fei was photographed when taking the nucleic acid test on October 15, 2022.

Officers from the Jiuzhan Police Station knocked on Lin Shuhua’s door on July 21, August 5, August 13, August 25, and September 22, 2022. Lin Shuhua did not open the door. On the morning of September 24, 2022, when Lin Shuhua went to take a nucleic acid test, she was photographed at her door by officer Chang Wenxiu.

Lin Shujie was also photographed when taking a nucleic acid test.

6. [Zouping County, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang and Ms. Cheng Arrested

Ms. Wang, over 80, and Ms. Cheng, around 70, were arrested on October 15, 2022. Ms. Wang’s home was ransacked. The police confiscated her e-bike, printer, Falun Gong books, money, and other items. The women were released later that day.

7. [Fangzheng County, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Li Yulian Arrested

Ms. Li Yulian from the Fangzheng Forestry Bureau was arrested at home by four officers on the morning of October 19, 2022. Her home was ransacked and more than ten Falun Gong books were confiscated. Ms. Li was taken to the police station for interrogation. She was released that evening.

8. [Xi’an City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Li Xuesong Detained

Elderly Ms. Li Xuesong from the Weiyang District has been detained in the Weiyang District Detention Center since August 2021.

9. [Xinhuang County, Hunan Province] Five Practitioners Harassed

Ms. Yang Yanduan was photographed at her home by police officers on the morning of October 11, 2022.

Ms. Tang Defen and Ms. Wu Yundi were harassed at home by people from the local community and the county civil affairs bureau on the morning of October 11, 2022. Ms. Wu’s son stopped them from taking photos.

Ms. Liu Aiping was forced to have her ID card photographed by local community staff members on the evening of October 14, 2022.

Ms. Yuan Qunzhi was photographed by the local village official on the afternoon of October 14, 2022.

10. [Dujiangyan City, Sichuan Province] Ms. He Zhongping Passed Away

Ms. He Zhongping, a retired police officer, was sentenced to three years of forced labor. Her pension was suspended. She passed away on September 30, 2022.

11. [Pingdu City, Shandong Province] Li Zhengxun Harassed

Five officers from the Nancun Police Station went to Li Zhengxun’s workplace on October 17, 2022, and took Li to the station. Li refused to cooperate. When they took Li home, the officers confiscated a wall poster, a photo of Falun Gong’s founder, and several Falun Gong books.

12. [Suining City, Sichuan Province] Three Practitioners Harassed

Ms. Yan Changsu from the Gaoxin District, 76, has been harassed by the police and local community staff members several times this year, most recently on October 18, 2022. Two men from the local community came to her home and photographed her.

Ms. He Xuemei, 71, and Ms. Yang Suhua, 76, were also harassed at home or by phone calls.

13. [Suining City, Sichuan Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Three practitioners including Ms. Feng Suying, 77, were arrested recently. They have been released.
