Taipei, Taiwan: Rally to Celebrate 400 Million Chinese People Who Have Quit the CCP Organizations

(Minghui.org) Over 1,000 Falun Dafa practitioners in Taipei gathered at City Hall Square on the afternoon of October 22, 2022 to celebrate 400 million people who quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) organizations.

After the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party was published by the Epoch Times in November 2004, a large number of Chinese descendants have withdrawn from the CCP organizations, which also include junior associations such as the Youth League and the Young Pioneers. Many locations have held activities recently to celebrate over 400 million people who severed ties with the CCP including New York, San Francisco, Sydney, Melbourne, Ireland, South Korea, Vancouver.

Learning the Facts and Staying Informed

Professor Hsiao Sung-shan, Chairman of the Taiwan Falun Dafa Association, spoke at the rally.

Professor Hsiao Sung-shan is the Chairman of the Taiwan Falun Dafa Association and said the CCP has persecuted Falun Dafa for 23 years. In fact, the brutality continues today, including arrests, detention, imprisonment, torture, forced labor, and organ harvesting. “Due to tight censorship and information blocking by the CCP, many people are unaware of the tragedies,” he said. “That is why we hope more people will learn what is happening and not participate in the suppression of Falun Dafa practitioners in any way.”

Professor Hsiao said that besides mistreating practitioners, the regime is also threatening the world. He urged Taiwan residents to step forward and support the righteous. “We can tell our relatives, friends, and other residents in China to withdraw from the CCP organizations, and stop doing evil,” he added.

A large number of Falun Dafa practitioners, including some in Taiwan, have volunteered to help Chinese people renounce their CCP memberships in the past 10 plus years, explained Liu Binghua from the Global Service Center for Quitting the CCP. The volunteers have worked tirelessly through the Internet, phone calls, and faxes. Volunteers in Taiwan have helped about 20,000 people withdraw from the CCP regime per month, he said.

Professor Hsu Kai-Hsiung from the Global Mission to Rescue Persecuted Falun Dafa practitioners said that he welcomed those who quit the CCP organizations. “Every one of them made a choice to stop siding with the evil or remaining silent,” he said. In fact, some police officers have changed upon hearing the real story of Falun Dafa. They stopped mistreating practitioners. “This is the power of the truth,” Professor Hsu said.

Cheng Xi, another volunteer from the Global Service Center for Quitting the CCP, grew up in China. He considered it important for Chinese people to recognize the CCP’s nature and sever ties with the regime. “This will help them to be saved when the CCP is held accountable for its crimes,” he said. “Rejecting the CCP will lead to a better future.

Supporting the Innocent

Several elected officials spoke at the rally and celebrated this important milestone.

Wang Hsing-huan, Secretary of Taiwan Statebuilding Party

Falun Dafa practitioners have suffered tremendously from the CCP’s brutality, said Wang Hsing-huan, Secretary of the Taiwan Statebuilding Party. He commended them for taking the lead, exposing the atrocities, and standing up to the hideous crimes.

Because of its massive human rights abuse, especially targeting religious groups, the CCP is the largest cult in the world, Wang added. He explained that when he stayed in France, he interacted with many practitioners and found them to be very good people. Having faced suppression from the CCP for decades, Taiwan residents understand the mistreatment that Falun Dafa practitioners, Tibetans, Hong Kong residents, and Uyghurs have endured. He called upon all those persecuted by the CCP to stand together and oppose the regime.

The CCP is notorious for making up lies and deceiving people, explained Taipei city councilor Lin Ying-meng. “Fortunately, more and more people are able to see through the CCP’s nature now,” he said. “We are excited to say that 400 million people have announced their wish to withdraw from the CCP organizations.”

She said it takes time and effort to educate the public on the atrocities committed by the CCP. In the beginning, many people did not believe the CCP harvested organs from living practitioners. But as more evidence surfaced, people realized that it is true. Hearings have also been held in the U.S. Congress.

When the CCP suppresses human rights, the entire world suffers. That is why it is important for Taiwan residents to join the effort to safeguard basic rights and stand against the CCP. “By working together, we will see a new China without the CCP,” she added.

Jiang Zhi-ming, another city Taipei councilor, said that Falun Dafa has been well received in over 100 countries. In addition, more and more people have learned the vicious nature of the CCP as practitioners work hard to raise awareness of the tragedies. As a result, people inside China are quitting the CCP, and residents in other countries are also rejecting the regime. He was happy to see more events like this since they are very meaningful for Taiwan and the world.

“It is through the hard work of Falun Dafa practitioners that more people are learning what the CCP really is,” said Taipei city councilor Lee Chien-chang. He thanked the practitioners and praised them for their efforts.

Having seen practitioners in schools and parks throughout Taiwan, councilor Lee said that he was impressed by the practitioners’ perseverance. For many years, practitioners have been spreading the information and now people from over 100 countries have benefited from the practice. He encouraged more communities to stand with practitioners and support freedom of belief.

The number of people who quit the CCP is 20 times the population of Taiwan, said Taipei city councilor Hung Chien-yi. Such a large number shows the CCP cannot last much longer.

The Global Service Center for Quitting the CCP has played an instrumental role in this process. Councilor Hung said practitioners have helped people to quit the CCP for over 10 years. He also urged more people to pay attention to this matter so that tragedies like forced organ harvesting will end.

“Telling right from wrong is not difficult,” said Taipei city councilor Chang Mao-nan. The totalitarian regime of CCP has suppressed freedom and mistreated people, causing a chaotic situation.

As more people began to learn facts, they came to know what the CCP really is. By committing crimes such as forced organ harvesting, the CCP regime is the worst. “We need to help more Chinese people recognize the truth and stand with Falun Dafa to safeguard basic rights,” he explained.

Background: What Is Falun Dafa and Why Is the CCP Persecuting It?

Falun Dafa (also known as Falun Gong) was first introduced to the public by Mr. Li Hongzhi in Changchun, China, in 1992. The spiritual discipline is now practiced in over 100 countries and regions worldwide. Millions of people who have embraced the teachings, which are based on the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance, and have learned the five exercises have experienced improved health and well-being.

Jiang Zemin, former head of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), perceived the spiritual discipline’s growing popularity as a threat to the CCP’s atheistic ideology and on July 20, 1999, he issued an order to eradicate the practice.

Under Jiang’s personal direction, the CCP established the 610 Office, an extralegal security organization with the power to override the police and judicial systems and whose sole function is to carry out the persecution of Falun Dafa.
