(Minghui.org) Ms. Huang Yindi, a Falun Gong practitioner from Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province, was sentenced to four years and six months of imprisonment on August 17, 2016 by the Xunyang District Court. In prison, she was subjected to torture, including being forced to stand or sit for long periods of time, punitive forced-feeding, as well as verbal abuse and other affronts.

When Ms. Huang was detained in the Jiujiang Detention Center, she was subjected to a tying torture in which she was tied up tightly with rope, and the more she moved the tighter the rope became. She has still not completely recovered from the physical trauma caused by that torture, even after four years.

Ms. Huang suffered more torture after being transferred to Jiangxi Women's Prison. In order to force Ms. Huang to give up her belief, the prison guards instigated the inmates to torture Ms. Huang with a variety of methods, including beatings, hanging, forced-feeding, standing for a long time, and verbal abuse.

Hanging Torture

Ms. Huang suffered the hanging torture four times. The first time was in the workshop of the Second Brigade of the Prison. Inmates Zhou Hong and Sang Xialan tied Ms. Huang’s hands and hung her up for nearly half an hour with her feet (which were tied up too) barely touching the ground.

The second time, an instructor surnamed Huang from the Second Brigade personally ordered prisoners Ye Qian and Li Qian to hang Ms. Huang up for 15 minutes. Ye Qian slapped Ms. Huang in the face at the same time.

The third time was in Cell 19 on the fifth floor. Guard Fang Tingting led prisoners Zhou Hong and Huang Xincheng to hang Ms. Huang up for about 30 to 40 minutes.

The fourth time was in the Prison Education Section. Guards Liu Hui and Fang Tingting ordered prisoners Zhou Hong and Huang Xincheng to carry out the torture. Before they started, they made sure all curtains were closed to prevent others from seeing it. The torture lasted from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. When Ms. Huang passed out in the middle of the torture, they put her down, poured cold water on her, pulled her hair, and poked her eyes to wake her up. Then they hung her up again. Finally they forced Ms. Huang to step on paper written with the name of Falun Gong’s founder.

Standing Punishment

As soon as Ms. Huang was transferred to the prison, she was forced to stand for 18 to 19 hours per day until midnight, sometimes for 21 hours straight. This torture lasted for 8 to 9 months. Her feet were severely swollen, with her calves so swollen that they were thicker than her thighs. The skin on her legs turned reddish-purple. She couldn't stand up straight. The swelling and numbness in her legs made it very difficult to walk. Because Ms. Huang could only walk very slowly, the guards instigated inmates Li Mingming, Zhao Chunxiang, Xi Sie, and Yi Shuping to drag Ms. Huang on the ground. Her pants and socks were threadbare from the dragging and her skin was bleeding.

Sitting Punishment, Beating and Verbal Abuse

Ms. Huang was forced to sit for a long time every day and was not allowed to move. Her buttocks and lower body developed bleeding sores as a result.

With the instigation of the guards, prison inmates repeatedly beat Ms. Huang. On one occasion, guard Fang Tingting ordered Ms. Huang to sign the so-called “transformation statement,” but Ms. Huang refused. Inmate Huang Xincheng then violently choked her.

Mental Torture

Criminal offenders Wang Wenxiu and Liu Lina used vicious language to personally attack, insult and mentally torture Ms. Huang every day.

Restrictive Diet

Inmate Huang Xincheng was instructed by the guards to not allow Ms. Huang to eat normally. They only let her eat very little at a time. They did not allow Ms. Huang to drink water. Ms. Huang went on a hunger strike to protest.
