(Minghui.org) After months of searching for her whereabouts, Ms. Li Ya's family finally confirmed that she is being held at Lanzhou City No.1 Detention Center.

Ms. Li, a Pingliang City, Gansu Province native residing in the provincial capital of Lanzhou City, was arrested on May 8, 2019, for practicing Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.

The police directly sent Ms. Li to Qilihe Detention Center in Lanzhou and interrogated her there.

Her family was informed that Ms. Li was transferred to another detention facility on May 19, but they were not told the name and the location of the facility.

It wasn't until recently that her family discovered her whereabouts. Her daughter visited her in mid-July. She said Ms. Li is emaciated. Ms. Li couldn't explain what had happened to her due to the monitored conversation, however, her daughter suspected that she had been tortured for not renouncing her faith.

Ms. Li's daughter said: “I couldn't fall asleep that evening when I heard about mom's arrest. In the past few months, I couldn't sleep or eat well. The police always called or even threatened me when they arrested mom in the past. But this time, no one called me about her. I was really scared and worried about what they would do to her.”

Because of not renouncing her faith in Falun Gong, Ms. Li has been arrested multiple times. She was sentenced to five years in Gansu Women's Prison in 2010 and brutally tortured there.
