(Minghui.org) A hospital in Wu'an City recently stopped treatment for a 56-year-old woman who was beaten unconscious by the local police four years ago and became paralyzed from the waist down. A long overdue surgery to repair her skull was also canceled for lack of funds.

Despite her family's repeated requests for compensation and the complaints they've filed with the procuratorate at different levels and with the Hebei Province Public Security Bureau, the police refused to cover her full medical expenses after giving the family an initial payment of 10,000 yuan.

Her family has vowed to continue seeking justice for her.

Ms. Shi Yunlan was arrested on October 9, 2014, after the police suspected her of putting up posters about Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the communist regime since 1999.

Officers Guo Hongjie and Li Xinshao beat Ms. Shi into unconsciousness at the local police station. They didn't take her to Wu'an First Hospital until the next day. She was paralyzed from the waist down and suffered from slurred speech after a craniotomy because of delayed treatment.

Ms. Shi has been hospitalized for nearly four years. The hospital stopped her medical treatment when her family failed to pay her medical expenses of over 300,000 yuan.
