Held at the Washington Monument on the evening of July 17, the vigil commemorated Falun Gong practitioners in China who have died due to persecution during the past 16 years.
More than 1,000 Falun Gong practitioners carried banners exposing the persecution, and highlighting the 60,000 lawsuits filed against Jiang Zemin, along the 1.3 mile parade route.
Several U.S. Congressmen and representatives from international human rights organizations spoke at the rally in support of Falun Gong.
