July 1st was Canada's National day. Canada celebrated its 133rd anniversary this year. Falun Dafa practitioners in Greater Vancouver participated in the "Salmon Festival" parade at Steveston in the City of Richmond. Given the current situation, the practitioners have become enlightened to the fact that we should thoroughly subdue selfishness to "assist Teacher to spread the Fa in human world", to enable more people to learn Falun Gong.

Our practitioners did a lot of preparation for the parade. A pair of twin sisters worked day and night embroidering a big banner. Meanwhile, other practitioners readied a large amount of literature and illustrated materials introducing Falun Dafa and the current situation in China. Over a dozen practitioners from Seattle set out in the early morning that day and drove over 200 kilometers to Vancouver to join us.

The parade began at 10:30am. Three men held the remarkable "Falun Dafa" banner up high at the head of Falun Dafa contingent. The Falun emblem and the "Zhen-Shan-Ren" on the banner were very striking. The contingent of about 50 people walked slowly with the Falun Dafa music "Pu Du" and "Ji Shi", which attracted many people. People asked for flyers; some western people knew what had happened in China and warmly applauded us. The practitioners distributed Falun Dafa flyers to people on both sides. The whole parade was reported live by the local Rogers TV station.

After the parade finished at 12pm, all the practitioners went to Surrey City and held group practice at Bear Creek Park. In addition, taking advantage of the national holiday, over a dozen practitioners from Vancouver drove to several remote cities, including Kamloop, Penticton and Kelowna in British Columbia, for spreading Falun Dafa.
