After the article Rationality written by the Teacher on August 9, 2000 was published, some people in Harbin brought the article to the prisons [where Falun Dafa practitioners were detained] and said that they wanted to persuade practitioners there to leave the prisons [by compromising]. This is a very inappropriate behavior. Most practitioners can recognize and distinguish what is right or wrong according to the Fa and not be affected.
Case One: Cao Zhenqi, male, 36, farmer, Changyi County, Shandong Province
On Feburary 15, 2000, Cao Zhenqi went to Beijing to appeal [for Falun Gong], and on Feburary 18, the local county police took him back. The head of the detention center, Shao Mingyi, used a rubber club and boots to beat and kick his face and ribs. Cao Zhenqi then was handcuffed outside in the cold.
