The Truth Behind the CCTV Report on the Harbin Murder Case

In early January of this year, the primetime news report of the China Central Television (CCTV, state-run) station reported on a story entitled "Harbin Falun Dafa Practitioner Has Killed Someone." According to this report, the accused was an employee of the Heilongjiang Forestry Bureau.

Shortly after this report was aired, a Falun Gong practitioner who was taking a train on a business trip heard a group of people speaking about this report: one of them was with the Harbin Education Bureau and had participated in investigating this murder case; the other three were principals of three schools in Harbin City. The person who had investigated this murder case said: "The news report on CCTV about the Falun Gong murder case was all fake! I know all about it. We went to the suspects home to investigate and discovered that there wasnt a single Falun Gong book in his house. His wife also argued that her husband had never practiced Falun Gong not even for a day. We didnt dare report just anything, but the CCTV people showed up and said: Look, were all already here -- what should we do? So we called upon the higher authorities for direction. The Vice Premier Li Lanqing responded: It must be reported! And so, this fabricated report on CCTV came into being. The whole thing was actually just created single-handedly by this one leader of the Central Party Committee."

Moreover, the employees of the Heilongjiang Forestry Bureau all know that this suspect didnt practice Falun Gong at all. This false CCTV report on Falun Gong is further evidence that the Chinese governments propaganda against Falun Gong is simply manufactured to serve its political needs.
