Since July 22, 1999, when the Chinese government began their crackdown on Falun Gong (Falun Dafa), the selfless and fearless deeds of practitioners in Mainland China of upholding the truth of Falun Dafa have created many magnificent events in protecting Falun Dafa. These have made Falun Dafa the center of attention in the world media and enabled a large number of people around the world to attain Falun Dafa.
On July 18th, to honor the more than 20 Falun Dafa practitioners who had already been illegally tortured to death by the Chinese government’s public security officers, the Bay Area practitioners in California gathered in front of the Chinese Consulate in San Francisco for a candlelight vigil.
Out of fear that Falun Gong practitioners would go to Tiananmen Square to validate Dafa, from July 17 to July 22, 2000, the Beijing Public Security Bureau illegally detained practitioners who firmly cultivate Dafa in their regions. Some of the practitioners were preparing meals at home, some were on duty in their work units, some were walking on the street, and some were asleep when they were arrested.
