May 13, 2000 is the first World Falun Dafa day. In the morning, many colorful balloons reading "World Falun Dafa Day - May 13" floated above the Bryant Park in Manhattan, New York City. That attracted the attention of many people passing by. In a short while, three red banners reading "May 13, the World Falun Dafa Day" (in English and Chinese) and "Falun Dafa" also started to float in the air.

"World Falun Dafa Day" Celebration in Los Angeles [with photos]
On May 13, 2000, practitioners from Los Angeles area celebrated the first World Falun Dafa Day on the Caltech campus, Pasadena. The activity started at 10:30am. Several local practitioners made opening speeches and also introduced the three local Falun Gong Clubs registered in UCLA, USC and Caltech.
