May 13, 2000 is the first World Falun Dafa day. In the morning, many colorful balloons reading "World Falun Dafa Day - May 13" floated above the Bryant Park in Manhattan, New York City. That attracted the attention of many people passing by. In a short while, three red banners reading "May 13, the World Falun Dafa Day" (in English and Chinese) and "Falun Dafa" also started to float in the air.
The celebration activities started around the noon. The activities included congratulations from practitioners in many different languages, group demonstrations of Falun Gong exercises and free teaching of the exercises offered to interested people, media interviews etc.
Right after the first round of demonstration of Falun Gong exercises, the speaker announced the greeting from our esteemed Teacher Li: "Best Wishes for Everyone"!
What a joyful surprise for all of us!
