Falun Gong practitioners recently gathered in downtown Hamburg to promote awareness of the ongoing persecution of Falun Gong in China. Passersby who stopped to read the banners and display boards were disturbed to learn about the state-sanctioned forced organ harvesting from living practitioners and readily signed the petition to call for an end to the persecution.
The month of July 2020 marked the 21st anniversary of the persecution of Falun Gong. 729 Falun Gong practitioners were arrested and 681 harassed for their faith. At the time of writing, 460 practitioners remain in custody and 7 have been forced to go into hiding to avoid further persecution.
After signing a petition to protest the persecution of Falun Dafa, a man in Basel commented, “Most people in the world abide by certain moral principles. This has nothing to do with who is in power or what faith you have. To uphold human dignity, I hope the Swiss government will work with other supporting forces to bring about a historic movement. If more governments raise their concerns, the pressure would be enough and we would see results.”
