The ongoing persecution of Falun Gong in China has continued despite the coronavirus pandemic. According to information compiled by Minghui.org, 139 Falun Gong practitioners were sentenced to prison for their faith in the first half of 2020.
A 66-year-old physician was summoned to her hospital, only to be beaten by police for hours on end. She died days later. The police targeted her because she refused to renounce her faith.
A young man was said to have hung himself, but his family found bruises and blood all over his body, with no sign of hanging death. His body was cremated without their consent, and they were forced to pay for cremation and subjected to months-long surveillance afterwards.
