(Minghui.org) Ms. Qu Guixian, a resident of Dalian City, Liaoning Province, was sentenced to four years in prison for suing Jiang Zemin, the former head of the Chinese communist regime who ordered the persecution of Falun Gong in 1999.

Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is a traditional mind-body practice based on the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.

Ms. Qu, 59, was an instructor at the Dalian Financial Junior College. She filed a criminal complaint against Jiang in May 2015 and was arrested on November 13 that same year. The police ransacked her home while no one was present. Her computer, cellphone, and more than 10,000 yuan in cash were confiscated.

The Shahekou District Procuratorate approved Ms. Qu's arrest on December 17, 2015, and later submitted her case to the court.

She appeared in the Shahekou District Court on April 26, 2016, and was sentenced to four years in prison and fined 40,000 yuan.

Ms. Qu developed chronic diarrhea and became emaciated while being held in Yaojia Detention Center.

Since she was admitted to Liaoning Women's Prison on November 18, 2016, Ms. Qu has been tortured on multiple occasions for not renouncing Falun Gong. A guard once stripped her naked and forced her to squat at the entrance to the prison after finding hand-copied Falun Gong teachings on her.

Ms. Qu's husband passed away many years ago. Her son and sister dare not visit her at the prison, due to pressure and harassment by the police.
