(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 12 cities or counties in 8 provinces, where 25 Falun Gong practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Dongning City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Xiao Hong Detained

Ms. Xiao Hong was arrested by officers from the Dongning City No. 1 Police Station on January 16, 2019, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. She was held at the Dongning City Detention Center for 12 days.

2. [Nongan County, Jilin Province] Ms. Wang Jingxia and Ms. Wang Fang Arrested

Ms. Wang Jingxia and Ms. Wang Fang were arrested by officers from the Changlong Police Station in Songyuan City on January 15, 2019, for distributing pictures pertaining to Chinese New Year. They are currently detained.

3. [Kangping County, Liaoning Province] Mr. Cui Rishao Detained, Abused

Mr. Cui Rishao was arrested by officers from the Dongguan Police Station on January 2, 2019, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. He was detained in a small, dark, freezing cold room at the Dongguan Police Station. The deputy director, Dai Guoqing, severely beat him, which caused his mouth to bleed.

The police later took Mr. Cui to his home and ransacked it. They confiscated more than 2,000 yuan, 30 Falun Gong books, CDs, and other items.

On January 7, Mr. Cui’s wife went to the Dongguan Police Station to ask about his arrest. Zhang Hongxin, deputy director of the Station, was very arrogant and tried to videotape her and others. Mr. Cui is currently held at the Kangping County Detention Center.

4. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Mr. Xing Zigang Arrested

Ms. Zhao Renxia's husband, Mr. Xing Zigang, was arrested at home by officers from the Lingzhushan Police Station of Kaifa District Police Department on January 7, 2019. His son, Mr. Xing Haodong went to the station for his release. The police did not release Mr. Xing but instead demanded that he hand over Ms. Zhao. Mr. Xing was detained at the station for 24 hours.

5. [Liaocheng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Huang Huanzhi and Ms. Gao Xiaoping Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Huang Huanzhi and Ms. Gao Xiaoping were arrested by officers from the Lihaiwu Police Station on January 27, 2018. They were held at the Liaocheng Detention Center and then tried. Ms. Gao was sentenced to a three-year prison term and Ms. Huang to a two-year term. Both were taken to the Shandong Province Women’s Prison.

6. [Jimo City, Shandong Province] Mr. Li Jianchun Arrested

Mr. Li Jianchun's arrest was approved by the Jimo City Procuratorate on January 11, 2019.

7. [Yuzhou City, Henan Province] Ms. Hou Yinglian Detained

Ms. Hou Yinglian was arrested by officers from the Guolian Town Police Station on January 4, 2019, for distributing table calendars that had information about Falun Gong. She was held at the Yuzhou City Detention Center.

On January 18, she was taken to the Xuchang City Women's Detention Center for further persecution. The police ransacked her home and confiscated computers, printers, table calendars, punching machines, and Falun Gong books.

8. [Changting County, Fujian Province] Ms. Dai Sanlian Arrested

Ms. Dai Sanlian, from Zhuotian Town, was arrested at home on January 4, 2019. She was taken to Longyan for further persecution.

9. [Xishui County, Hubei Province] Ms. Wang Guizhi Detained

Ms. Wang Guizhi was arrested in September 2017. She was first held at the Huanggang City Detention Center and then transferred to the Xishui County No. 1 Detention Center.

Ms. Wang was tried and sentenced to a one-and-a-half-year prison term on December 11, 2018. She is currently held at the Wuxue Detention Center in Huanggang City.

10. [Xianning City, Hubei Province] Ten Practitioners Persecuted

Ms. Hu Guanxia, 38, from Tongcheng County, was sentenced to a four-year prison term by the Yueyang County Court. She is still being held at the Changsha City Women’s Prison in Hunan Province.

Mr. Hu Baori, in his 50s, from Tongcheng County, was sentenced to a four-year prison term. He is currently held at Wangling Prison in You County, Zhuzhou City, Hunan Province.

Ms. Li Yanhe, in her 40s, from Tongcheng County, was was sentenced to a four-year prison term by the Yueyang County Court. She is still held at the Changsha City Women’s Prison in Hunan Province.

Ms. Zhang Hong, in her 40s, from Xianan District, was sentenced to a two-year prison term. She was taken to the Jiangxi Province Women's Prison.

Mr. Chen Shuang, 23, from Xianning City, was sentenced to a seven-year prison term. She is currently held at the Longgang District Detention Center in Shenzhen City.

Mr. Xiang Debin, in his 50s, from Xianan District, is currently held at the Xianan District Detention Center.

Mr. Hong Haihua, in his 60s, from Tongcheng County, was tried and is still held at the Tongcheng County Detention Center.

Ms. Huang Qiuzhen, in her 60s, from Xianning City, was held at the Xianan District Detention Center.

Mr. Mei Shuqing, in his 30s, from Chibi, was arrested by officers from the Sheshan Police Station in Caidian District, Wuhan City on April 6, 2018. He is currently held at the Caidian District Detention Center.

Ms. Wang Huiyuan, in her 60s, from Tong County, was tried and is still held at the Chongyang County Detention Center in Xianning City.

11. [Chongqing] Mr. Xiong Lin Arrested

Mr. Xiong Lin, in his 40s, was arrested and taken to the Zhian Police Station in the Guanyinqiao Business Circle of Jiangbei District on January 20, 2019, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong.

12. [Guanghan City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Tang Jinyu and Mr. Tan Xinqing Detained

Mr. Tang Jinyu and Mr. Tan Xinqing were arrested by officers from the Jinlun Town Police Station on January 19, 2019, for distributing table calendars which contained information about Falun Gong. They are currently held at the Guanghan Detention Center.
