(Minghui.org) Ms. Zheng Lili, from Langfang City, Hebei Province, was given an 18-month prison term by the Bazhou City Court. She was sent to the Shijiazhuang Women's Prison.

Ms. Zheng Lili and several other practitioners went to the Daliu Town farmers market in Wen'an County to distribute Falun Gong desk calendars on January 2, 2017. They were arrested and held at the Wen'an County Detention Center. When Ms. Zheng was released on bail for health reasons, she went back to her hometown in Liaoning Province. Her four-year-old daughter and mother needed her care, and she found a job there.

One day in February 2018, Ms. Zheng was arrested in Liaoning Province when she used her national ID card as required by work. The police told her that she was on the online wanted persons list. She was taken back to Hebei Province and held in the Bazhou City Detention Center for nearly eight months. Her case was then turned over to the Bazhou Procuratorate.

After she was sentenced in December 2018, she was sent to the Shijiazhuang Women's Prison.

Background

Mr. Meng Xiange, Mr. Liu Yingjie, Ms. Yang Xiaohui, Ms. He Yan, Ms. Fan Meiling, Ms. Zheng Lili, Ms. Chu Shuyuan, Ms. Pi Yuqin, and Ms. Xing Fengxiang went to Daliu Town farmers market in two cars a little past 11 a.m. on January 2, 2017. The nine practitioners (two male, seven female) were arrested by the Daliu Town police when they distributed Falun Gong desk calendars. They were then taken to the Wen'an County Detention Center for 15 days by the Wen'an Police Department. Their Falun Gong materials were confiscated, and both cars were impounded.

The homes of Mr. Liu, Ms. Yang, Ms. Zheng, and Ms. He were ransacked on January 11, 2017. The police also went to the other practitioners' homes, but no one was there.

The seven female practitioners were released on bail on January 12, 2017.

The two male practitioners, Mr. Meng and Mr. Liu, remained in the detention center. Their cases were turned over the the Wen'an County Procuratorate.

Mr. Liu Yingjie was later released, and no charges were brought against him. Mr. Meng Xiange was released on bail on February 23, 2017.
