70-Year-Old Practitioner in Beijing Suffers Symptoms of Heart Problems During Arrest
(Minghui.org) A 70-year-old Falun Gong practitioner from Beijing was arrested by Dongcheng District police. Even though she appeared to be having heart problems, they mistreated her. She was released four days later.
Ms. Liu Shengping was visiting a friend at noon on September 6. When she was leaving after a short stay, officers from Donghuashidajie Police Station arrested her and her friend.
Ms. Liu began to convulse at around 4 p.m. She felt tightness in her chest, and the police called for a doctor, who said that her blood pressure was dangerously high. The police took her to a hospital.
She felt better after she was given oxygen, so the police took her back to the Donghuashidajie Police Station and then transferred her to the Tiyuguan Police Station. When she had several more convulsions, the police said she was pretending. Because she could not walk, the police pulled her from the basement to the police car. They moved her to the Dongcheng Investigation Center.
She convulsed again at the center and had dangerously high blood pressure. The police took her to Jishuitan Hospital and then to the Dongcheng Detention Center.
She again had convulsions at 5 a.m. on September 9. They took her back to the hospital and gave her oxygen. She was released on the afternoon of September 10.
