(Minghui.org) A married couple in Shenyang City was arrested again for refusing to renounce Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline being persecuted by the Chinese communist regime.
Mr. Meng Xianguang, 52, remains in Danan Police Station following their latest arrest on June 28, 2018. The whereabouts of his wife, Ms. Su Xiaohua, remains to be investigated.
This is not the first time that the couple has been targeted for their faith. Mr. Meng was first sentenced to 4 years in prison following his arrest in August 2001. He was sentenced again, to 3.5 years, when he and his wife were both arrested on March 26, 2014. Ms. Su also received 3.5 years.
Mr. Meng was brutally tortured during his second imprisonment in Benxi Prison. In April in 2015, inmate Yang Zhonghua was instructed to “handle” Mr. Meng. Yang kicked Mr. Meng to the ground and beat him for over 20 minutes. Mr. Meng could hardly walk afterward.
On October 18, 2015, guard Chen Geng ordered inmates Shi Dejun, Jiang Tianshu, and Guo Yongcheng to stuff Mr. Meng's mouth with socks and cover his head with a plastic bag. They then taped his arms and legs to a chair. Guard Liu Minghao ripped open Mr. Meng's shirt and poured cold water on his head before beating him. Guard Liu Sitong shocked Mr. Meng until the electric baton ran out of charge. Liu also slapped his face.
Hours later, Mr. Meng was moved to a different room, where guard Chen ordered two inmates to hold Mr. Meng's arms. Chen then whipped him on the back more than 20 times with a rubber tube. When Chen took a break, guard Liu picked up the tube and continued.
Mr. Meng was then returned to his cell, stripped naked, and tied to a chair. The inmates took turns watching him to prevent him from falling asleep.
The next morning, guard Chen ordered inmate Shi Jian to touch Mr. Meng with an exposed wire. Chen then connected the other end of the wire to an electric baton. At one point guard Chen touched Mr. Meng's penis with the exposed wire and said, “I'm going to make you unable to have any kids!” Mr. Meng convulsed from the electric shock, only to have the guards laugh at him.
That afternoon three more guards—Lang Pengcheng, Liu Minghao, and Zhang Zhiyu—came in and taped books to Mr. Meng's thighs. Two of them then hit the books with plastic tubes. That way, even though he suffered internal injuries, nothing would show on the surface. The beating lasted more than two hours, until the guards were exhausted.
The guards later changed their mind and hit Mr. Meng's legs with the tubes. His legs were covered with wounds afterward. He had trouble breathing and became disoriented.
