Additional Persecution News from China – May 24, 2018 (18 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 17 cities or counties in 10 provinces. According to this report, 10 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 12 were illegally arrested.

1. [Qujing City, Yunnan Province] Ms. Li Chunju Arrested

Ms. Li Chunju, who works on odd jobs in Kunming City, was arrested by officers from the Xuanwei City Domestic Security Division when she returned to Xuanwei on May 21, 2018.

Ms. Li was previously arrested in 2011 by the Xuanwei Domestic Security Division, and her home was ransacked. She was sentenced to forced labor.

2. [Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Qin Jiaying Arrested

Ms. Qin Jiaying, 87, was reported to the authorities for distributing Falun Gong materials on the morning of May 12, 2018. She was followed and arrested.

The police ransacked Ms. Qin's home and confiscated a computer, Falun Gong books, photos of the founder of Falun Gong, and Falun Gong exercise music tapes.

3. [Changyi City, Shandong Province] Mr. Cao Zhenqi and Ms. Zhang Guixia's Homes Ransacked

Five or six officers from the Beimeng Police Station broke into the homes of Mr. Cao Zhenqi and Ms. Zhang Guixia on the morning of May 22, 2018. They confiscated photos of the founder of Falun Gong, Falun Gong paintings, and a music player.

Ms. Li Renying was taken to the local No. 2 detention center.

5. [Linyi City, Shandong Province] Mr. Li Xiaolei Arrested

Mr. Li Xiaolei, from Linyi City was arrested at work in Jiaozhou City, by the Linyi police and village officials on the afternoon of May 22, 2018. He was bought back to Linyi.

6. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Hu Yulan Detained

Ms. Hu Yulan from the Changyi District was reported to the authorities for distributing Falun Gong materials on the morning of May 20, 2018. She was arrested and taken to the Nanjing Police Station by officers from the 110 Response Unit. Three officers ransacked her home.

Ms. Hu was taken to the Jilin City Detention Center.

7. [Beijing] Mr. Zhao Bingzhong Sentenced to Prison

Mr. Zhao Bingzhong was sentenced to two years in prison by the Fengtai District Court on May 21, 2018.

8. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zhang Mingfang Arrested

Ms. Zhang Mingfang was arrested at her home by officers from the Mengzhuiwan Police Station on the afternoon of May 21, 2018.

She was taken to another detention facility, which refused to accept her because she failed the physical examination. She was taken back to the police station that evening.

9. [Liaocheng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Qi Yuqiao Arrested

A dozen officers from the Yanggu County Domestic Security Division and Xihu Police Station climbed over the wall of Ms. Qi Yuqiao's home and broke in on May 14, 2018. They arrested her and ransacked her home, confiscating five cellphones, a notebook computer, and about two or three hundred yuan in cash.

Ms. Qi was handcuffed and taken to the police station, where she was interrogated. She was taken to the Yanggu County Police Department that afternoon, where she was again interrogated.

Ms. Qi was transferred to the Liaocheng City Detention Center the following day, but the authorities there refused to accept her due to her poor health. She was then taken to the Liaocheng Hospital for treatment. She refused to cooperate with the doctors and police, and was taken back home later that day.

10. [Chongqing] Mr. Tang Minghua Transferred to Another Prison, Denied Family Visits

Mr. Tang Minghua from the Yubei District was arrested by officers from the Yubei Domestic Security Division on June 5, 2015. He was sentenced to four years in prison and taken to the Yongchuan Prison.

Mr. Tang was transferred to the Yudu Prison in January 2018. He was not allowed family visits.

11. [Pingjiang County, Hunan Province] Mr. Zhan Lingkun Taken to Brainwashing Center

Mr. Zhan Lingkun from Meixian Town was arrested at his home by officers from the Meixian 610 Office on the morning of May 21, 2018. He was taken to a brainwashing center.

12. [Suizhong County, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Yuhui Detained

Ms. Wang Yuhui was arrested by officers from the Suizhong County Domestic Security Division on the evening of May 18, 2018. She was taken to the Huludao City Detention Center.

Ms. Li Lanyi was arrested on May 10, 2018. She was taken to the Nanyang City Detention Center.

15. [Zhengzhou City, Henan Province] Ms. Zhao Yuzhen Arrested

Ms. Zhao Yuzhen's family learned on May 21, 2018, that she had been arrested. Ms. Zhao, in her 60s, from Yuecun Town, Xinmi City, was taken to the Red Cross Hospital, where she is being monitored by police.

16. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Several Practitioners Detained

Mr. Li Zhijie from the Jinjiang District was arrested at his home by officers from the Niushikiu Police Station on May 10, 2018. He was taken to the Chengdu City Detention Center.

Mr. Deng Weiyong, his wife, Ms. Deng Shaoying, and their son were taken to the Chengdu Detention Center.

17. [Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Zhou Guihai Arrested

Mr. Zhou Guihai, 45, from Qixing Farm in Jiansanjiang Town, was arrested by officers from the Qixing Farm Domestic Security Division on the morning of May 23, 2018.

18. [Jieyang City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Huang Shaoyong Sentenced to Prison

Mr. Huang Shaoyong was sentenced to a two-year-and-nine-month prison term, and fined 10,000 yuan.
