(Minghui.org) Mr. Su Wen remains imprisoned after he had a stroke and became paralyzed on one side of his body.

Mr. Su, 51, was the postmaster of his local post office. His wife, Ms. Sui Juanru, was an employee of Jimo Communications Company. The couple was arrested on August 1, 2012 for refusing to renounce Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline being persecuted by the Chinese communist regime. Mr. Su was sentenced to 7 years in prison and his wife 1.6 years on December 26 that year.

The Jimo District, Qingdao City resident has been subjected to various forms of torture since he was admitted to Shandong Province Men’s Prison. He was once tied up and made to sit in a chair from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day for four straight days. The chair was tilted in a 45-degree angle so that he had to lean backwards. His back hurt tremendously as a result.

The long-term torture took a toll on Mr. Su’s health. He had a stroke and fell into a coma in January 2018. Despite having surgery, he became paralyzed and was still in critical condition at the time of writing. The prison, however, refused to release him.

Mr. Su is not the only Falun Gong practitioner subjected to torture at the prison. Mr. Wang Zhongshi, Mr. Yi Xiangyang, Mr. Liu Xingwu, Mr. Xu Baozhen, Mr. Cheng Wendong, Mr. Wang Guangwei, Mr. An Libo, and Mr. Rong Gang are also abused on a regular basis. All the practitioners were injected with unknown drugs on August 18, 2017. When Mr. Wang protested, a guard yelled, “You should feel lucky that we didn’t pepper spray you!”
