Additional Persecution News from China – February 11, 2018 (16 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 14 cities or counties in 10 provinces. According to this report, at least 12 Falun Gong practitioners were either sent to a detention center or imprisoned, 1 practitioner was subjected to mistreatment during imprisonment, and 5 were illegally arrested and will likely be tried.

Ms. Li Xiuru was scheduled to be tried in the Dongcheng District Court on the morning on February 26, 2018.

2. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Lihua Given a One-Year Prison Term

Ms. Wang Lihua’s home was ransacked by officers from Taihe Police Department and Nuerhe Police Station, as well as personnel from the Nufang Community Center, on September 29, 2017. Ms. Wang and her husband were taken to the Nuerhe Police Station that night. Her husband was released early the next morning. Ms. Wang was transferred to the Jinzhou Women’s Detention Center.

Ms. Wang was recently given a one-year prison term by the Taihe District Court. She is held in the Jinzhou City Women's Detention Center.

3. [Zhengzhou City, Henan Province] Ms. Wang Guirong Detained

Ms. Wang Guirong, 63, and another practitioner with the last name Han were arrested by officers from the Jingbalu Police Station in the Jinshui District on the afternoon of February 5, 2018, for telling people about and distributing information about Falun Gong. They are being held in a detention center.

4. [Siping City, Jilin Province] Ms. Yang Huiyun and Ms. Liang Yanying Detained

Ms. Yang Huiyun and Ms. Liang Yanying from Yitong County were arrested by officers from the Xijie Police Station in Yitong Town on the morning of February 4, 2018, for handing out New Year's paintings with Falun Gong content. They are being held in the local detention center.

5. [Xianyang City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Zhang Hao Detained

Ms. Zhang Hao from Qian County was arrested by Qian County Police Department officers for distributing Falun Gong materials. She was detained for 15 days. She was then taken to the Qindu Detention Center.

6. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Mr. Gao Jian and Mr. He Zhirong Sentenced to Prison

Mr. Gao Jian and Mr. He Zhirong from the Kaiping District were arrested on April 7, 2017, for telling people about Falun Gong in Jing'an Town, Changli County, Qinhuangdao City. Both were sentenced to prison in the Changli County Court in February 2018. Mr. Gao was sentenced to prison for three years and four months, and Mr. He for three years.

7. [Fuping County, Hebei Province] Ms. Duan Jianhua Given a One-Year Prison Term

Ms. Duan Jianhua was arrested by officers from the Fuping County 610 Office and the Domestic Security Division on May 12, 2017. She has been held in the Baoding Detention Center. She was sentenced to one year in prison and fined 2,000 yuan in the Fuping County Court on February 5, 2018.

8. [Wuxue City, Hubei Province] Ms. Liu Yanfeng and Ms. Gong Yuegui Detained

Ms. Liu Yanfeng and Ms. Gong Yuegui were arrested on February 3, 2018. They were being held in the Huanggang City Detention Center.

9. [Luzhou City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Liu Shoulun Taken Into Custody

Ms. Liu Shoulun, 70, from Qiancao Town in the Jiangyang District was arrested on February 5, 2018, for distributing Falun Gong materials. She has not yet returned home.

10. [Luzhou City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Liu Yunfang Taken to Prison

Ms. Liu Yunfang, 70, was arrested and taken to prison on January 24, 2018.

11. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Tang Ping and Ms. Shi Xianglan Detained

Ms. Tang Ping and Ms. Shi Xianglan were arrested by Longkou Development Zone Police Station officers on the morning of February 6, 2018. They were held in the Zhangjiagou Detention Center for five days.

12. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Mr. Zhu Zhanshan Arrested

Mr. Zhu Zhanshan was arrested on February 10, 2018.

13. [Zhaoqing City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Liang Qun Given a Three-Year Prison Term

Ms. Liang Qun was arrested by officers from the Hubin Police Station on September 7, 2017, for telling people about Falun Gong over the phone. She was held in the Duanzhou Detention Center. She was given a three-year prison term in January 2018.

14. [Urumqi City, Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region] Ms. Li Xiaoping Arrested

Ms. Li Xiaoping was arrested on February 5, 2018.

15. [Sanmenxia City, Henan Province] Ms. Liu Jianxia Mistreated in Prison

Ms. Liu Jianxia has been held in a small cell in Henan Province Women's Prison for 100 days. She is very weak and suffers from a swollen face and chest tightness.

16. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Lu Yan Sentenced to Two and a Half Years in Prison

Ms. Lu Yan was arrested by officers from the domestic security division of the Lubei Police Department Branch on January 16, 2016. She was tried on November 1 that year. One of the pieces of evidence that was presented in court was a blank piece of paper. Ms. Lu was sentenced to 3 years in prison.

Ms. Lu appealed by herself. The term was later reduced to two and a half years.
