Additional Persecution News from China – January 11, 2016 (20 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 20 cities or counties in 11 provinces. According to this report, 21 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 17 were illegally arrested.

1. [Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Gao Yuling Forced to Leave Home

Mr. Gao Yuling was harassed by the authorities and left her home to avoid arrest.

2. [Pengzhou City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Xiao Danfeng and Ms. You Quanfang Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Xiao Danfeng was sentenced to one-and-a-half years in prison, and Ms. You Quanfang to one year.

3. [Sanhe City, Hebei Province] Elderly Mr. Zhang Yaxiang Harassed for Suing Jiang Zemin

Mr. Zhang Yaxiang was harassed for suing Jiang Zemin, the former Chinese dictator.

4. [Foshan City, Guangdong Province] Ms. He Weiqi Detained

Ms. He Weiqi, 68, from Heshunshanjiao Village, Lishui Town, Nanhai District, was arrested on December 7, 2015. She has since been held in custody and her family was not notified by the police.

5. [Hengshui City, Hebei Province] Mr. Liu Shenxin Sentenced to Prison

Mr. Liu Shenxin was sentenced to one year in prison by the Hengshui City Court.

6. [Pingchang County, Sichuan Province] Mr. Wu Pochen Detained

Two Pingchang County state security officers broke into Mr. Wu Pochen's home and arrested him on the evening of January 7, 2016. He is held in a detention center.

7. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Gao Baotian Detained and His Mother Harassed

Mr. Gao Baotian, in his 40s, was arrested and taken to the Longfeng Police Department by two plainclothes police officers and security section officials from his workplace on January 6, 2016. He was given 15 days of detention in the Longfengchangxi Detention Center.

Four police officers wen to the home of Mr. Gao's mother (who is in her 70s) and harassed her.

Mr. Chen Yuhe was detained for 15 days.

9. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Liang Caiyun Harassed

Ms. Liang Caiyun from Jiulong Town, Luogang District, was harassed by Li, head of the Jiulong Town 610 Office; Huang Canqiang, from the 610 Office; and Huang Hongxin, an officer from the Jiulong Town Domestic Security Division, in December 2015 for suing Jiang Zemin. She was forced to write a letter of apology for “falsely accusing” Jiang Zemin.

Jiang Guohui and other officers from the Luogang District Police Department broke into her home on the evening of December 15, 2015. They ransacked her home, but could not find Falun Gong informational materials. They still took her to the Jiulong Town Police Station. She was released after signing some documents.

10. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Three Practitioners Taken to Brainwashing Center

Ms. Huang Yongmei was reported to the police for telling people about Falun Gong and distributing Falun Gong informational materials on the morning of January 6, 2016. About 20 or so unidentified people broke into her home in the afternoon and ransacked the place. They confiscated all her Falun Gong books. She was arrested.

Ms. Zhang Huifen and Ms. Yang Lihua, who were at Ms. Huang's home, were also arrested. The three practitioners were held in the Etouwan Brainwashing Center in Qiaokou District.

11. [Beijing] Ms. Zhao Songlan Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Zhao Songlan from the Zizhuyuan Area, Haidian District was tried on December 9, 2015. Her family learned at the end of December that she was sentenced to three years in prison. She is still held in the Sujiatuo Detention Center. Family visits are denied.

12. [Yangzhou City, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Li Zhenghua Sentenced to Prison

Mr. Li Zhenghua, in his 70s, from Jiangdu District was arrested for telling people about Falun Gong. He was sentenced on December 8, 2015 to three years in prison with four years of probation by the Jiangdu District Court after being held for two months. He is presently confined to his home.

13. [Xinyi City, Jiangsu Province] Four Practitioners Detained

Ms. Li Xiujuan, Mr. Wang Qiyong, Mr. Ge Zheng, and Ms. Wu Dongmei were arrested and taken to a detention center by the police on January 4, 2016. Mr. Ge was released for health reasons.

14. [Yingkou City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Yang Xianwu Arrested

Mr. Yang Xianwu was arrested for telling people about Falun Gong on January 5, 2016.

15. [Zhaoyuan City, Shandong Province] Mr. Liu Fubin Arrested

Several police officers broke into Mr. Liu Fubin's home, located in the Xilujia Village, and under the jurisdiction of the Luofeng Neighborhood Administration Office, on the morning of January 8, 2016. Mr. Liu was not at home. The officers arrested his wife after she made an inquiry about the lawsuit she filed against Jiang Zemin. She was released several hours later. The officers returned to Mr. Liu's home and arrested him. They ransacked his home.

16. [Jiaxing City, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Xin Yuhong and Ms. Dong Hongying Arrested for Suing Jiang Zemin

About eight officers from the Jiaxing City Police Department and the Wangdian Town Police Station arrested Ms. Xin Yuhong and Ms. Dong Hongying on January 7, 2016 for suing Jiang Zemin. The officers ransacked the two practitioners' homes. Both practitioners are held in the Honghe Police Station.

17. [Yinchuan City, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region] Seven Practitioners Held in Prison

Mr. Ma Xiongde, Mr. Sun Jianfeng, Mr. Ding Qian, and Mr. You Haijun are held in the Yinchuan Prison.

Ms. Luo Xinping, Ms. Zheng Fengying and Ms. Mo Huiping are held in the Yinchuan Women's Prison.

18. [Wuzhong City, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region] Five Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Zhang Xueyan, Mr. Gao Jianping, Ms. Wei Ningju, and Mr. Yang Shizhong were arrested on November 10, 2015.

Ms. Wu Jinlan was arrested on November 13, 2015.

Mr. Yang came down with a serious lung infection upon returning home from the police station and passed away.

Mr. Zhang is held in the Qingtongxia City Detention Center.

The other three practitioners were released after the authorities extorted 20,000 yuan from each practitioner and called it a “security deposit.”

19. [Rudong County, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Zhu Liling Faces Trial for Suing Jiang Zemin

Ms. Zhu Ling was arrested by officers from the Rudong County Domestic Security Division on September 1, 2015 for suing Jiang Zemin. She is facing trial.

20. [Shanghai] Ms. Wu Meifang and Ms. Wu Jingfang Face Trial

Ms. Wu Meifang and Ms. Wu Jingfang from Pudong New Area were arrested by officers from the Jinyang New Village Police Station for distributing Falun Gong informational materials on July 15, 2015. Both were placed under criminal detention that evening. They were officially placed under arrest on August 14, 2015. The police transferred their case files to the Pudong New Area Court on November 2015.
