Additional Persecution News from China – February 4, 2016 (24 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 21 cities or counties in 11 provinces. According to this report, 7 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, at least 30 were illegally arrested, and the whereabouts of 1 are unknown.

1. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Zhang Xia Arrested and Whereabouts Unknown

Ms. Zhang Xia, former police officer from the Taibei Police Station in Wuhan City, was arrested by director of the police station on January 26, 2016. Her whereabouts are unknown.

2. [Kunming City, Yunnan Province] Five Practitioners Arrested

Five practitioners, including Ms. Lu, were arrested by police for distributing Falun Gong informational materials in the Xiaogucheng area on the afternoon of January 28, 2016. They were taken to the Chenggong Police Department. The five practitioners returned home safely that night.

3. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Ge Peiying and Ms. Gao Fuling Sentenced

Ms. Ge Peiying and Ms. Gao Fuling were arrested by officers from the Zhoushuizi Police Station, Ganjingzi District, on February 27, 2015. The Ganjingzi District Court put them on trial in August 2015. Recently, Ms. Ge was sentenced to to three years in prison and Ms. Gao to four years. Both practitioners are held in the Dalian Detention Center.

4. [Xuzhou City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Feng Huairong and Mr. Xia Jun Arrested

Ms. Feng Huairong and Mr. Xia Jun were arrested by officers from the Xuzhou City Domestic Security Division and a local police station on January 26, 2016.

5. [Jixi City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Wang Fengzhi and Ms. Li Shurong Arrested

Ms. Wang Fengzhi, 66, and Ms. Li Shurong, 78, from the Lishu District, were arrested and taken to the district's police station by police assistants for handing out Chinese New Years paintings and couplets, with Falun Gong content, on January 31, 2016.

The officers ransacked the practitioners’ homes, and confiscated photos of the founder of Falun Gong, Falun Gong books, printed materials, a computer, a printer, and other materials. Ms. Li was released because of her age. Ms. Wang was taken to the Jixi City No. 1 Detention Center.

6. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Li Sentenced

Ms. Wang Li from Linqu County was arrested in September 2015. She was sentenced to one year in prison by the Linqu Court at the end of December 2015.

7. [Zhumadian City, Henan Province] Ms. Qi Lan Detained

Ms. Qi Lan from Yangji Town in Shangcai County was arrested by Qiu Zhiyong, deputy director, Yangji Town Police Station, and other officers on December 2, 2015. She is detained in the Zhumadian Detention Center.

8. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Mr. Yin Kaikui Under Strict Control in Prison

Mr. Yin Kaikui from Lingqu County was sentenced to four years in prison in April 2015. He was put under strict control in the Jinan Prison. His wife and son went to the prison to visit him, but the guards forbid family visits.

9. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Ms. Liu Fengbao Detained

Ms. Liu Fengbao was arrested by plainclothes officers for telling people about Falun Gong on the afternoon of February 1, 2016. She is detained in the Yushu Detention Center.

10. [Jurong City, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Wang Song Detained

Mr. Wang Song was arrested by plainclothes officers in Chuncheng Town on December 24, 2015. He was later secretly held in custody by the 610 Office. He was secretly interrogated. He was transferred to the Jurong City Detention Center at the end of December 2015.

11. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Liu Guixiu, Ms. Zhan Shuzhen, and Ms. Xue Yunxiu from the Qingdao Development Zone were arrested by police officers from the Baoshan Town Police Station for distributing Falun Gong informational materials on the morning of February 3, 2016.

12. [Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Liu Honghui Detained

Mr. Liu Honghui from the Lishui District was arrested by police officers from the Yongyang Town Police Station on February 2, 2016. He was detained for seven days.

13. [Pingyao County, Shanxi Province] Ms. Li Nan Sentenced

Ms. Li Nan was arrested on March 9, 2015. He was given a one-and-a-half year prison term.

14. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Han Yumei Detained

Ms. Han Yumei was arrested by officers from the Laozhuangzi Police Station in Lubei District on the afternoon of February 1, 2016 for distributing Falun Gong informational materials. She was taken to the Tangshan City Detention Center.

15. [Xinyi City, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Yang Zhongliang Detained for filing a lawsuit against Jiang Zemin

Mr. Yang Zhongliang was arrested by police on the morning of January 15, 2016 for filing a lawsuit against Jiang Zemin, the former Chinese dictator. He is detained at a detained center.

16. [Xinxiang City, Henan Province] Ms. Ren Xiufang Arrested

Ms. Ren Xiufang, 54, from Canmu Village, Weizhuang Township, Changyuan County, was recently arrested by officers from the Changyuan County Police Department.

17. [Baoqing County, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Gao Yuhuan and Ms. Jiang Yuling Sentenced

The Shuangyashan City Intermediate Court and the Baoqing County Court sentenced Ms. Gao Yuhuan and Ms. Jiang Yuling each to three years in prison. Both practitioners are held in the Shuangyashan City Detention Center.

18. [Bazhong City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Chen Deying Detained

Ms. Chen Deying from Nanjiang County was arrested by officers from the Nanjiang County Domestic Security Division for telling people about Falun Gong on December 24, 2015. She is held in the Nanjiang County Detention Center.

19. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Yu Chunying Arrested

Ms. Yu Chunying from the Hanting District was arrested and taken to a police station for hanging Falun Gong informational materials on display boards on February 2, 2016.

20. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Mr. Wang Hongyu Arrested

Mr. Wang Hongyu from Longkou City was arrested by plainclothes officers from the Lutou Police Station for talking to people about Falun Gong in the farmers market in Lutou Town on January 13, 2016. He was taken to the police station.

The officers confiscated DVDs, printed materials and calendars with Falun Gong content, as well as paper currency with Falun Gong content written on it, which were in his bag.

The officers sprayed chili powder toward Mr. Wang's eyes. They used keys to whip his mouth. He was taken to the Lutou Police Station.

21. [Zaozhuang City, Shandong Province] Mr. Yang Chuanfa and Wife Arrested

Mr. Yang Chuanfa and his wife were arrested by officers from the Wenhualu Police Station, Shizhong District, at the end of January 2016.

22. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Gao Baotian Detained for Suing Jiang Zemin

Mr. Gao Baotian, 48, from the Dongchenglingxiu Residential Area in Longfeng District was arrested by officers from the Longfeng Police Department on January 6, 2016 for suing Jiang Zemin. He was detained for 15 days in the Changxi Detention Center, Longfeng District. He has returned home.

23. [Guiyang City, Guizhou Province] Mr. Lei Guoting Detained

Mr. Lei Guoting from the Baiyun District was arrested at work on December 28, 2015. He was held in the Lengshuigou Detention Center for 13 days. He has returned home.

24. [Shuangyashan City, Heilongjiang Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Qu Fengzhen and her husband Mr. Zhou Fa were arrested on December 23, 2015. Ms. Qu returned home after the Baoqing County Police Department had extorted 10,000 yuan. Mr. Zhou was placed under arrest.

Mr. Shen Fu from the Luan County was arrested by officers from the Luan County Domestic Security Division on the morning of January 25, 2016. He was taken to the Xincheng Police Station for interrogation, which was videotaped. He returned home that afternoon.
