New York City Council Members, Borough Presidents, County Executives, and Town Supervisors Recognize 16th World Falun Dafa Day
(Minghui.org) Following six New York State senators, and 20 New York State Assembly members, 13 New York City Council members and borough, county and town officials congratulated Falun Dafa with proclamations and good wishes during the celebration of the 23rd anniversary of the practice's public introduction by more than 8,000 practitioners in New York City two weeks ago.
Borough President Adams wrote, “... I commend the practitioners of Falun Dafa for sharing this spiritual practice with others, welcoming the general public to learn and take part in the celebration; and I thank everyone for all that have done to touch and improve the lives of many, helping to move our communities forward as One Brooklyn.”
The citation notes, “the members of Falun Dafa, have worked diligently and have contributed to the success and prosperity of all segments of our citizenry, and through the years, have demonstrated a selfless commitment to the community that warrants attention and gratitude.”
The proclamation notes: “since its introduction in New York in the year nineteen hundred ninety-six, Falun Dafa workshops have been given in senior centers, schools, colleges, corporate offices, health clubs, private residences and libraries throughout Suffolk County.”
The proclamation notes: “Falun Dafa empowered individuals to leave behind addictions and bad habits based on the principles of Zhen-Shan-Ren (truth, compassion and forbearance);”
“We respect and acknowledge the contributions Mr. Li Hongzhi has made by introducing the self-improvement practice of Falun Dafa to the general public in 1992. This year marks the 16th World Falun Dafa Day.”
