European Falun Gong Practitioners Hold Activities on 16th Anniversary of April 25 Protest
(Minghui.org) To commemorate the 16th anniversary of the April 25 peaceful protest in Beijing, Falun Gong practitioners throughout Europe held activities to raise awareness of the ongoing persecution of Falun Gong in China and to call for its end.
Protest in front of Chinese Embassy in Romania
In Romania, a peaceful protest was held in front of the Chinese Embassy in Bucharest on April 25. Practitioners displayed banners and informational boards to call for an end to the persecution of Falun Gong in China, especially the atrocity of harvesting organs from living practitioners. They held a candlelight vigil in memory of the victims of the persecution.
After the protest, a signature collection event was held in Herăstrău Park. When they learned about the brutal 16-year persecution in China, people showed great support for Falun Gong by signing a petition calling for its end. One young man said that he comes to show his support at this event every year, because “No one in the world should be persecuted like this.”
Rally and Signature Collection in Russia
Practitioners in Saint Petersburg and surrounding areas gathered at the Chinese Consulate on April 25, demanding an immediate stop to the persecution in China. They also held a rally near the subway station for Saint Petersburg State Polytechnic University, exposing the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) atrocities committed over the past 16 years of brutal repression.
Two hundred and forty people signed the petition calling for an end to the CCP's crime of harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners. Many took introductory materials to help spread the information.
Activities in Norway
Practitioners in Oslo held a peaceful protest in front of the Chinese Embassy and Parliament Building. The movie star Mr. Kristoffer Joner happened to pass by and said that he'd heard about the persecution and organ harvesting crimes in China during a trip to Hong Kong. The actor signed the petition calling for an end to the Chinese regime's forced organ harvesting, and took additional materials to help spread the news.
Photo Display and Signature Collection in Denmark
Practitioners in Denmark held activities on City Hall Square in Copenhagen on April 25. They held a photo display to expose the CCP's atrocities, and collected signatures on a petition to stop the persecution.
During the event, a United Nations (UN) official approached practitioners. He said that he couldn't sign because of his position at the UN, but he expressed his support Falun Gong practitioners and took some introductory materials with him.
Several Chinese people learned more about Falun Gong and the persecution and immediately quit the CCP and its youth organizations.
Signature Collection in the Netherlands
Practitioners in the Hague introduced Falun Gong to the public, exposed the persecution in China and collected signatures calling for an end to the persecution. Their event received great public support, with large numbers signing the petition.
Chinese People Have Opportunity to Quit the Party in ItalyAt an event in Milan's Chinatown, 53 Chinese tourists quit the communist party with practitioners' help. Practitioners also demonstrated the exercises and collected signatures calling for an end to the state-sanctioned forced organ harvesting in China.
