Additional Persecution News from China – February 11, 2015 (10 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 10 cities or counties in 4 provinces. According to this report, 7 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 5 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Xinji City, Hebei Province] Mr. Chen Jianjun Displaced

Officers led by Wei Zhaohui, head of the Xinji City Domestic Security Division, broke into Mr. Chen Jianjun's home in Hongqiying Village, Hemujing Township on March 28, 2014. They ransacked the home and confiscated 1600 yuan in paper money with the facts about Falun Gong written on them, along with a computer, a printer, a DVD burner, a photo of the founder of Falun Gong, and several Falun Dafa books. Mr. Chen was handcuffed and taken to the Domestic Security Division.

The officers tried but failed to take Mr. Chen to a detention center. So they extorted 3,000 yuan from Mr. Chen's family as bail.

In June 2014, Wei Zhaohui and the Xinji City Procuratorate again came to persecute Mr. Chen. People came to Mr. Chen's home to monitor and harass his family. Mr. Chen was forced to leave, and has stayed away from home since then to avoid further persecution.

2. [Beijing] Ms. Xiao Fengwen Arrested Again

Ms. Xiao Fengwen from the Chaoyang District, Beijing was arrested at home on the morning of January 30, 2015, by Pang Chaowu and other officers from the Huajiadi North Neighborhood Police Station.

Ms. Xiao has been held in the Beijing Women's Forced Labor Camp three times. She returned home after the camp was dissolved in 2013. After returning home, Ms. Xiao was often harassed by the Wangjing Neighborhood Administration Office, 610 Office, and residential committee. She was again arrested in 2014, and taken to the Wangsiying Brainwashing Center in Chaoyang District.

3. [Fuxin City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhang Fengjie and Ms. Cai Chunying Arrested

Ms. Zhang Fengjie and Ms. Cai Chunying from the Xinqiu District of Fuxin City were arrested by staff from the Wuhuanchi Police Station on the afternoon of February 9, 2015, for talking to people about Falun Gong. Ms. Zhang subsequently developed serious illness symptoms. She was brought home by her family and taken to the City People's Hospital. Ms. Cai remained in custody at the Wuhuanchi Police Station.

4. [Zhangqiu City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Peilan Remains in Custody

Ms. Li Peilan from Zhangqiu City was arrested by personnel from the Caishi Township Police Station on October 10, 2014. The police ransacked her home several times while no one was present. The police are still working on fabricating evidence against Ms. Li, who is still being held at the Jinan City Detention Center.

5. [Fengcheng City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Lu Jun Sentenced to Three Years in Prison

Ms. Lu Jun from Tongyuanbao Town, Fengcheng City was arrested by officers from the Dandong Police Department and Fengcheng City Police Department on July 2, 2014.

The Fengcheng City Court tried Ms. Lu on December 4, 2014. She was sentenced to three years in prison on the afternoon of December 12, 2014.

6. [Changli County, Hebei Province] Ms. Bai Hanzhi Arrested

Ms. Bai Hanzhi, about 60 years old, from Wugezhuang Village, Matuodian Township, was arrested by officers from the Matuodian Township Police Station on the morning of February 10, 2015, while talking to people about Falun Gong.

7. [Leshan City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Zhou Lingjun and Wife Ms. Hu Chunhua Detained

Mr. Zhou Lingjun, 51, and his wife Ms. Hu Chunhua, from Jingyan County, Leshan City, were arrested on November 17, 2014, in the waiting room of the Shenyang North Railway Station, before boarding a train on their way home. They were later brought back by officers from the Qianfo Town Police Station, Leshan City, Sichuan Province. They have been held at the Jingyan County Detention Center since being taken there on November 25, 2014.

The couple had previously been arrested and sentenced to three years in prison for going to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. They were again both sentenced to four years in prison prior to the 2008 Olympic Games, and twice taken to the Leshan City Brainwashing Center, the first time in 2012 and the second time in May 2013.

8. [Dezhou City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Huijun Arrested

Ms. Li Huijun, about 40, from Dezhou City, was arrested in her office by several officers from the Dongdi Police Station, Decheng District.

9. [Anshan City, Liaoning Province] Four Practitioners Sentenced to Prison

Seven Falun Gong practitioners were arrested together from a private home in October 2013. Three of them were sentenced last September, but the details of their verdicts remain unknown. Most recently, the remaining four were sentenced in late January. Ms. Guo Shufang was given a three year and three month sentence, and her son Mr. Tang Chao, two years. Ms. Shang Jing received four years, and Mr. Zhang Xu three years. They all appealed their cases, but the higher court upheld the original verdict without holding any hearings. The mother and her son have been transferred to Dabei Prison in Shanyang.

10. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Two Practitioners Tortured in Prison

Mr. Che Zhongshan and Mr. Zhu Chengqian, who were both sentenced for broadcasting TV programs exposing the persecution of Falun Gong, are now being subjected to torture at Shanyang First Prison in Liaoning Province. Both men have been denied family visits since being brought to the prison.
